The Moonswatch commentary is hysterical. 😂😂😂😂
I couldn't stop chuckling. Smelling own farts ... Classic!
I was watching this & giggling to myself; I had to play it for my wife. Turns out she doesn’t have the same appreciation of good humor that I do. Fortunately my two little boys do.
@@chriscon8463It's gross but you can't help yourself by doing it .😂
I think they exaggerated how well built they are….they aren’t that good in reality 😉
I lived with a g shock on my wrist for the last 15 years of my military career. Broke two and ceremonially retired the 3rd when I retired. Now I like the shinier stuffs.
The format, the script, and the good natured hilarity combined with informative commentary is what makes this channel so much fun to watch! The Casio GA-2100 and the Casio Duro are tremendous choices on their own and when you consider that nearly everyone can buy them without undue hardship, that’s really quite fantastic! Very well done 🥃 22:43
What a thoughtful and positive review of this video. Thank you.
@@erod818 You are very kind.
Citizen Promaster is missing
Big fan of the Citizen Eco Drive Promaster watches. Have a 13-14 year old Carbon and just picked up an Aqualand - which seems like an updated version of the Carbon. Just solid chunks of steel with great performance and no need for battery.
Orient Bambino and/or Kamasu should be one here as should a Vostok Amphibia and any watch with an ST19 movement (Seagull 1963?). Also probably a Citizen Promaster Ecodrive.
Certainly not the Orient
Certainly the Vostok Amphibia.
Baltany needs to be in there somewhere. Great watches for the price.
Citizen Eco drive watches are a must for all watches collectors
I bought a Hamilton Khaki mechanical for work but it caught my sons eye. He now owns it. Good starter watch for my 13 yo
That's a good tip! I also bought a Hamilton Khaki mechanical for work last year. But my son wanted a Casio calculator watch. He's only 9 though and still may be developing his taste. Maybe I'll pass my Hamilton onto him later when I'm ready to upgrade.
Great picks! I agree and have a Seiko 5, Citizen, and two Casio (solar and Edifice) with two Bulova (one vintage). I value you both and your reviews. Great job mates!
The banter is off the scale. You two are hilarious cheeky chappies 😂
Really...banter...are you sure ...not detected
if i get another gshock people will begin to think theres something wrong with me
I have the G-Shock GM2100C-5A, this is the new metal Casioak with a positive display, contrasted dual, and nylon strap, and it’s awesome. I threw on a standard black rubber strap on it and it’s my daily driver, and I get compliments on it.
Definitely Casio. The iridescent GA-2100SRS is my go-to fun watch and the rose gold GM-B2100GD is a great looking upscale sports watch for whenever I want something a little less fancy than a Rolex/Omega.
Very well done and excellent choices!
Duro is the leader of the list, far ahead of the others. Glad I caught 2 with the Marlins, newer models have dropped them, sadly. S/S, and NATO straps coming soon.
The Twelve definitely took inspiration from the Omega AT as well. The hands and especially the hour markers are very similar.
They need a teak dial version like the AT
I’ve owned other G-Shocks but the Casioak is highly recommended. Still cheap (edit: better said, "inexpensive" as nothing cheap about the quality) and lower profile GA-2100 makes a great beater watch, nice looking and typical durability. I recommend the white indices as I have. The “blacked out” version isn’t as easy to read according to a few owners I’ve talked with, makes sense.
Have a titanium square. Gshock very happy with it
Is the ga-2100 as durable as a typical square g-shock
@SCOTUSonlymember oh ok, 😊 that's
@@Dämonenjägerin Absolutely. I've used it for a year and half anytime I'm doing manual labor like running a chainsaw, sledgehammer, anything regardless the activity and also, on the beach surf fishing so it's exposed to saltwater. If it gets covered in dirt I simply put it under water and use a toothbrush. I gave a friend my old G-100 and this is the only one I use as a "beater" but still works as a casual option.
Great List, great Suggestions!!! I also love the Seagull 1963 and Vostok amphibia.
Have been seriously considering the Christopher Ward bronze models….really excellent looking.
Should have talked about how the QTimex seconds hand hits all the markers. Checked out 6 of them and all of them hit the markers. Fantastic for the price.
I have the Hamilton in a bronze case, my most loved watch
It's a great watch. One of my favourites too.
Thanks guys. Great content.
HMT Janata, Orient Bambino, Timex Weekender, nearly any Zelos, Vostok Amphibia, Casio G Shock dw5600, Bulova Hack, Citizen Pro Master (auto or eco drive), nearly any Baltic, and your personal choice of Mr Jones Watches.
I'd include the Bulova Lunar Pilot, Citizen Tsuyosa, Laco Aachen/Augsburg and Seiko Prospex King Turtle/King Samurai in this list. For $350 you can get a proper moonwatch, an automatic integrated bracelet sports watch, a flieger watch from the one of the four original manufacturers, or a professional ISO certified dive watch, all with in-house movements, except for the Laco, which uses Miyota movement (Bulova is owned by Citizen and uses a Bulova-branded modified 6S20 movement by Miyota, which is a part of Citizen Group, ergo, in-house), and all from brands with more than 100 years of heritage (except Laco, which is 98 years old, but will be in 2 years).
Bulova Lunar Pilot over that @!? Moonswatch any day. I own 2 real speedys so I might be biased but seriously guys?
@@Chopperdriver you're definitely biased. The Lunar Pilot IS a moonwatch. MoonSwatch is an overpriced piece of plastic Swatch worth $130 at most.
I have a Bulova Lunar Pilot, and I find myself wearing it often over my other watches.
The Tsuyosa was the last one they covered.
I just bought a Kamasu III and I’m so happy with it 🎉
Great watch!
A splendid round-up! Bravo.
@Andrew, which CW Twelve edition & colour did you go for? Please do tell!…
Great entertainment, solid collection, thanks!
Should have mentioned Seagull 1963. It’s the best mechanical watch on its price range in the world
I have never been disappointed since I became a customer of NKUWAN . Their timepieces are of exceptional quality.
Ultimate ‘cheap’ big brand watch collection?
1) LAND - Bulova Hack Quartz
2) SEA - Casio Duro
3) AIR - QTimex GMT
4) DRESS - Orient Bambino (Any)
5) BEATER - G-Shock Sqaure
Job done
Literally basically described my collection I can send pics for proof 😂
2 of my 3 watch collection are here! GShock and 5KX. My dress is the SARY147 snowflake-esq dial
I'm trying to collect all the colors of the moonswatch. then, I'm putting them in a display case beside my unique collection of dog turds. I have all 7 basic shades of dog poo, from ebony black to slimy white, and all the main tones in between. I think the Moonswatch colection will be a nice complement to that collection, albeit worth far less money.
😂😂😂 Do you polish those turds?
Is it me, does Tom look a mechanic emerging from underneath a car 🤔
Yes ! Lol
They should've kept the old format. Worked better, honestly.
“Like smelling your own farts, there is a small joy to it…” If RUclips awarded Oscars, that line would be engraved at the base of the award. Well done gents 👏👏👏🏆
Just received a Seiko SRPK17. AWESOME!! Love it.
What thousand range? Mine is low 12.
Christopher ward finishing is top tier,I think they will be a big roller in a decade
You mentioned the price of the Hamilton Khaki Field having gone up a bit. I really love Hamiltons but have notice they seem to have had a noticeable price jump in the last few months.
I'm so excited for my Studio Underdog chrono
Same man
Love the citizen…… Got the yellow dial version and I love it!
That Casio Marlin watch at the end is amazing for the price. Everyday beater. Great watch!
I really do not get the Moonswatch watches. Cheap plastic kids toy watches in look and build and the strap confirms the kids watch look and feel. Is the only reason people go stupid over it is due to the omega branding? And for all that cheap toy looking plastic you pay heaps for it. So many nice watches you could get for the same money that it's really a bad joke that people are going mad over them. I brought my first Tissot today. The newish White lumed dial PRX with white strap. What a true bargain watch for what you get. I got a G-shock Casioak metal cover with green dial ( GM2100B-3A) a while back and I love the look but for the money it's really overpriced for what it is. It's hard to read and the strap is pure junk. But it looks nice at least.
You're missing the most important one of all: Spaghetti Scammeti
Love my GA2100 👍🏽
This PRX commercial is like Matrix rom-com
Have a GA2100 and man i have no regrets. And btw love your videos👍
I've had 5 gshock and enjoyed them all, when I fancy a new one I just sell one for what I purchased it for in the sale. That said my Elliot Brown Canford is a stonking watch for the money, gets alot of attention and I'm never scared to wear it. I forget I'm wearing it on the rubber strap.
Perhaps Vostok Amphibia and Orient Bambino are missing
Beaverbrooks have the Seiko 5 in stock now if you’re looking for one in the uk
Nice to see that Moby and Alan Rickmans son are making content. Good on you! Seriously, what fun his video was.
Hi, I think you selected a beautiful set of watches, but I'd suggest one you probably know already and a Swiss underrated watch. So: I recently bought a Seiko SRPG27 and I adore it. I think it's very beautifully designed, has a fabulous buid quality and is very accurate. It is somewhat small, but fits well and has a nice presence on the wrist. / The other of Swiss origin. The brand has many ugly models, but my Zeno Airplane Diver is a beast of a watch. It is not that accurate, but it is a watch that grows on you. Functional, has some nice details that point it almost to professional type watches and is quite affordable.
So, thanks for your videos and insights.
Cheers.
I have both The Casio GA-2100 and the Casio Duro and I love them both...better than my more expensive watches.
I just gave in to peer pressure and got me one o'them G-Shock metal watches (the dark olive green one)...but I have absolutely no idea how to set the little LCD part. As such, it says something completely different to the hands. I'm currently doing my level best to not let it bother me, and I'm sure I'll get around to wearing it outside the house...one day.
I need the Studio Underdog watermelon watch to wear to the Barbie movie.
Hi guys: I agree on many of your choices. I myself own a Casioak (aside from Asia couple of other casio's). I own a Hamilton (from the 1950's). I don't own a PRX though... I went with the much nicer Tissot Gentleman (that no one seems to talk about),
The PRX is clean tho just a shame that the quartz is 400
Discussing farts and moonswatch in the same sentence is the most true and correct phrase in this video.😉
The Christopher Ward Twelve from a look and finish is bit like a cross over of the Aqua Terra and a constellation. Ignoring the movement/anti magnetic for a moment, the difference in price is 😮 Is the movement worth that c.£5k difference?
I just purchased 2 G Shocks and I have a question. Does anyone else have problems with the strap? After two week's I seem to be getting skin irritations. Are there alternative aftermarket straps out there that are not resin? If so what do recommend?
Yeah I want a Timex , because I’m fatigued from luxury 😂
And the moonswatch is such a humbling experience.
You should write a book.😉
The awkward banter here had me rolling. 🤣🤣🤣
Very surprised that Mr Jones didn’t make this list. I’d have replaced one amongst timex/citizen/tissot for it.
Agreed with most of these but would have included the Seagull 1963 - everyone should try one.
Great looking timepiece.
Got my Duro, blue, with Sapphire swapped in. Drop dead gorgeous for the price! Part of the collection, not going anywhere!
Tissot prx, my first high end watch. For a beginner 😊
And just like that, I regret returning my Tsuyosa :( But I am pleased that I’ve managed to hold onto 5 differently colored Duros. They’re just fun and cheap and I’m never worried about bashing them. Ditto my Timex Qs.
Wish the duro was available from casio in the uk
I bought the citizen Tsuyosa in green . It’s a great watch but I find myself adjusting it quite a bit as it gains time a lot .
This is what I noticed as well
really? do you know how many seconds per day its gaining?
Citizem is giving tissot prx run for the money not seiko (what integrated bracelet seiko is as known as tissot prx)
Awesome selection. I made 3 out of 10, owning the G-Shock GA 2100, Seiko 5 Sport and Moonswatch.
When is the twelve coming out with a smaller case size?
I have the 'murdered out' GA-2100. Looks great. Goes with almost anything. Horrible for telling time in anything except direct light. None of it matters; it's too cool not to own.
That said, the more recent version with solar and BT will be the next one I buy, as that one should outlive the apocalypse.
Ive got all the solars and your right they rule
Not a bad selection, except for the Moon Swatch, about which the less said the better. I'd add any 200m small-brand dive warch. I have a Tandorio that is an homage to the Seiko 6105: NH35a movement, sapphire crystal with AR coating, ceramic bezel, screw-down crown and caseback, and mine has an oyster-shell black dial that is stunning. All this for about $80. Best beater I've ever owned, and nobody's going to hit you in the head to steal it.
The Duro will always be my watch. I own plenty of watches, and I am an outdoor guy in Africa, and the only watches that last are Casio.
I have like 3 watches in my collection, moonswatch so i can cheat if i need a dress watch, i wanted one and found at retail whist on holiday so it's a reminder of the holiday and i don't have to take it seriously i have a vintage automatic timex if i need a watch for half a day without distractions and a silver gmw-b5000
Because it has so many advantages for my needs.
Very good information and funny 👍
Andrew… which version of the CW 12 did you get? Thanks
He tells us in his review of CW12 - Ti on a rubber strap I think
Top stuff chaps, Seagull 1963, Alpinist, Baltany, Echo/neutra...❤
Those G-shock Casioaks are awesome
You know how people feel about Invicta., Back in the 1960's Timex held that spot. Timex watches would start at $9.95 and go up. Most people stopped at the $30 to $40 level.
for that price you. got a watch which would for 5 years. They looked nice and kept time. Then go out and do it again. Many people wore them. I remember having low regard for them.
I don't think they have changed at all. So I will never buy a Timex "Waterbury" watch. They started out selling $1 watches in the 1890s. I guess a dollar does not buy what it once
did. But a dollar then was a Silver dollar.
Some good points there. I still have my father’s Timex which has ‘Made in Great Britain’ printed on the dial. Very few watches have that these days!
I own two Seiko 5’s from the 80’s bought by me £25 and going strong 💪🏻
Just acquired a Seiko Bullhead black Horse.
I also have a 1983 seiko 5 with silver dial, which now needs servicing, quoted $350. Kinda steep so I’m still contemplating..cheers!
The way you presented your videos in the past is wayyy better than how it is now
Why? They still do the old style too for some videos- but they do these as well which I think are funny. Still the best watch channel on you tube- maybe just appreciate them
Lighten up.. these guys are having a ton of fun... you finally get the faces that go along with the voices! Tick tick tick...
Would love to have any of the watches shown. Maybe one day. Great content btw
Many of these watches are quite affordable. Especially the Casio models.
If I may suggest, of the whole lot here, save enough money to get yourself a Studio Underd0g, a Christopher Ward or a Hamilton Khaki. These three are the most prestigious ones and despite the price range, the highest bang for buck here.
But there are others not listed here that can be great starters (Orient Bambino, any other Seiko 5, Vostok Amphibia, Citizen Promaster and many others) that can give you the feeling of owning a proper watch.
And don't forget the second hand market. If you are lucky and fascinated by the Swiss Made logo, for the same price you can find even better watches on the market. Some of them come at a price that is less than the value of the movement inside. Just be patient and buy what you feel right for you without harming your finances. IMHO.
I have one very tough modestly affordable and very practical for outdoors and diving I owned 4 so far 😊
Thank you 👍🏻👍🏻🤠🤠
I own a G-Shock Steel GST-B400 -1A and although it looks great the watch is basically a analog watch because the display windows are terrible for visibility . I think I wore it twice since purchase.
seiko prospex ssc911.... is it good enough for the list? even better than moonswatch dont ya think?
Any channel that reviews Patek Philippe, Jaeger LeCoultre, Cartier, Rolex etc but manages to enunciate “boobs & farts” in an RP English accent and in the same episode is my kind of channel.
Prx 37.5mm would be great
Did the OysterQuartz not come out before the Royal Oak?
I almost like them all, fantastic guys ! The Casioak is a must and the MoonSwatch........well I own 2 now having gifted my Mission to Mercury to a dealer I picked up a Nautilus from a couple months ago. He then gifted it to his security guy. They are cool, and scratch the Speedy itch at a fraction of the price. Hell, I look at an Omega Moon Watch as a geek piece anyways 😂
The best GMT value by far is the Glycine Combat Sub GMT automatic. I have one in bronze, $550, and it tracks +4 seconds per WEEK.
Wish they came in 38mm
If you include Seiko 5, you must consider an Orient or Citizen dive watch too. Most can be had for much less the the 5 series and they are better. Your choices were good apart from that Moonswatch crap.
that citizen reminds me of a VC
I have never wanted a Moonswatch but after watching this video I can't believe I still don't 🤔
Thanks for the other tips though 👍
Got, got, got, need. I'd say, having got the G shock GA2100, would probably get the Casio Submariner and the amber/orange Citizen. Would probably have the studio underd0g too but don't know if I could live with it at my age. Also got a Hammy but went for a aviator rather than the field watch. The Cooper from Interstellar as I haven't seen Sonic the Hedgehog (see earlier comment about my age). Will avoid the Q Tissot pretending to be a no brand Pepsi!
Timex
One of my best friends from University in the United States was British. I'm a 6ft tall American and nobody could cut me down to size like he did and keep me humble. When you two go back and forth it just kills me. Only thing that could make your podcast better would be some Cockney expressions. Witty Americans will eat it up and it just seems right up your alley to do it.
I'd definitely include Zodiac super sea wolf - millions of material/color combinations and absolute classic of a watch
A $2k+ watch isn't exactly a worthy addition to a budget list....
The homage version of the MoonSwatch is that much better, Cheaper too, Thanks Pagani. Its not disposable either. Funny segment!
