We replaced the transom and floor from the inside keeping the original outer gelcoat intact. With a lot of care; utilizing a 3-1 tool I was able to dissect out the rotten wood and then fiberglass in Coosa Board Bluewater #26 to create what should be an indestructible boat. The coosa was bonded to the original hull using polyester resin. Polyester resin is cheaper and is the same resin used to manufacture the boat.
Why would anyone want a jetski when you can own a small speedboat and have create comforts not obtainable on a waverunner.
Take a moment to watch my successful attempt to reach 50mph in my Sidewinder with a 115hp mercury outboard.

Sidewinder Boats is a company known for manufacturing high-performance powerboats. They gained popularity in the 1970s and 1980s for producing fast and agile boats primarily designed for racing and recreational use. Sidewinder boats were often characterized by their sleek, low-profile designs and powerful outboard motors.
One of the most notable models produced by Sidewinder was the Sidewinder SS, which became an iconic boat in the high-performance boating community. The Sidewinder SS was renowned for its speed, agility, and responsiveness, making it a favorite among boat enthusiasts.
Sidewinder Boats often used fiberglass construction in their boat manufacturing, which contributed to their lightweight yet durable design. The company's boats were built with an emphasis on performance, handling, and style, appealing to those who sought thrilling experiences on the water.
While Sidewinder Boats enjoyed success during their peak years, the company faced challenges and changes in the marine industry landscape over time. As of my last update in January 2022, information about current operations or the status of Sidewinder Boats may vary, and it's advisable to check the latest sources for the most accurate information.

This is a great video, my sidewinder needs this repair and I am wondering if you think that leaving the cap on the boat was worth it. Or if you had to do it again would you remove it

I would do it the sme way again. The upper half and splash well adds significat structural support. I roughed up the sides and tray and then used matt and woven to carry over to the Coosa board from the top, sides and floor

Thank you and I'll be making another when I work on the 1975 Big brother. I bought it because the transom was already done and when I rock the engine I can hear it cracking. This time it will be from the outside since a repair was already attempted.
