Parents should be charged for no life jackets for their children and infant baby. The boat captain should also be charged and held responsible for the people in his care. These waves are brutal for a babies spine and neck. Reckless endangerment and stupidity!
In Australia the captain would be fined! We all know the americas don’t like their ‘freedom’ restricted though… it my right to not wear PFD’s, seat belts in vehicles etc.
It's a Florida thing. My 46' has little problems punching through. But my bigger boats fly over with little problems. My 59' cigarette tartano has 2700 hp. Though classified as a luxury yacht, cigarette and my family actually designed the 6 Mercury engines 450hp each totaling 2700hp , we have pulled some folks out of the water and towed some in. I agree with those vests though. Welcome to Florida laws.
Unbelievable, people flying up out of their seats, and the drivers don’t even slow down, plain stupidity. Definitely can hurt one’s back. Also, there should be a speed limit once inside the breakwater.
I presume the Capt of MoJo at 23:00 has never performed a "Man Over Board" practice. The time he took to recover the mat, had it been a person in the water the poor sod would have drowned.
Does Florida have ANY enforcement of the boating laws? How about child endangerment for the kids on the T top? I mean, they have the FWC, local yokels, county Mounties, Coast Guard, Homeland Security, and god knows how many others. WTF are they when we have kids on the T top through the inlet?
Hi im from New Zealand and we have some very knarly bar crossings and it is mandatory to wear life vests jackets no matter the water conditions. I agree this guy should be held accountable .Poor child .
Why, with Haulover's well-documented tendency to cause boats to bury their bows, do boat owners still place people (ie, 'weight') forward of the cockpit - effectively contributing to the problem, and then act surprised when their vessels (And bow passengers) get caught by incoming waves? It seems to be a strange situation.
Agreed. Save the bow riding for calmer seas. I personally no longer allow anyone on the bow when I encounter heavy chop. Learned that lesson on Lake of the Ozarks during a busy weekend in the Summer. Buried the nose of our tri-toon. Little too much weight in the front. After that, only took out smaller groups on the weekends.
The way I see it , it’s tiered system 1. The ones who can afford the boats 2. The ones who can afford to take these clips 3. People on the beach 4. Me . I can only watch from here , and I’m thankful I can beautiful boats ❤️
In those waters ,nobody rides up front for several reasons ,and little ones with no life preserver damn shameful and illegal on most navigable waterways.also for sale 1brand newish boat, only stuffed several times, mostly on the weekends.might need a new bilge pump and re-upholstered unless your into saltwater mold. .
Some of these csnt be helped except for staying st the dock. If its sloppy, youre going to get slapped around, depending on the size of your boat. But dome of the others, trim tabs are a thing. So is appropriate speed.
All of these videos show that the boats that submarine are usually the ones where people are sitting in the front weighing the bow down, instead of riding by the helm or toward the stern. They are a good tool to show my wife that, yes, where the passengers sit in a boat matters A LOT to the balance and steering.
- it is always gratifying that all the children are wearing life jackets, even adults this time! It's great that you have such a high regard for safety!
Serious question, is this a really dangerous zone or there are too many captains that don't have a clue of what they are doing? I mean, something doesn't add up... If I'd be an inexperienced boat owner I wouldn't go with a full throttle
As I read the comments, California is any child 13 and under. Rest of us, Florida also, kids under 6 when in anything smaller than 26' long AND moving. These videos of this inlet are popular but if you've never been, everyone gathers to watch the show. I own go fast to big boats that can make this look smooth but it is more of an attraction and the videos make it look a bit more. Otherwise this famous inlet would be closed. My girls always wore fitted proper vests but like I said, this inlet is famous for the wish wash. But if you love bigger than lake boats then you'll feel like your on a standard roller coaster.
I guess what amazes me is the number of boat operators (not captains) that seem to think they can do any better than all the other boaters that have tried and failed at getting in or out of the inlet.
in my opinion no center console boats are sea worthy in really rough water (over 6'). How long can they take on water over the nose before the water is over the batteries and time for S.O.S.
Entertaining maybe, but I got a couple of questions. 1. Why do so many feel the need to power slam their craft into the face of oncoming waves? 2. Why isn't everyone on those craft wearing PFD's?
It’s impressive how many boaters are caught on camera doing their first run through the haulover. Either that or many of them haven’t learned from their previous mistakes
Lotta Boat beat down happening in this vid, with a much deserved "Clueless Captain" award. "Lets go for a boat ride'.....they said. "It'll be fun".....they said...
Is the entrance so confining that boaters can’t properly orient their boat to the waves or are the waves forms just too irregular? As a fresh water boaters the thoughts of constantly dousing my boat, equipment and passengers with salt water is not the least appealing. Plus having sticky soggy with salt water passengers out for a day in the water is no fun at all
Why do parents think that small children will enjoy a bowrider in rough waves? They ALWAYS cry and scream and are never wearing PFDs. Captain should be ticketed!
It looks like this was a boat for hire and the family in front was not related to the captain. He tried to minimize the damage but it went from bad to worse. It's funny they wanted to jump off the boat and run for the beach in the end to save themselves. I hope no serious neck/back injuries for the kids (it could have been worse if they went overboard. ) as the father of 5 was able to hang on to his green cup in hand until the end.
I have no experience in salt water boating. I have experience on lakes, so no idea how to drive a boat through waves like this. Is there a better way to pilot a boat through the inlet? Or is it just that people should avoid this inlet when it is like this? Also, that Scout captain is terrible. I agree with all the comments about life jackets, etc. But, he also throws his boat in reverse and starts backing away from the beach without looking behind him. That beach area looked pretty crowded with people in the water, jet skis and other boats.
Well, I used to watch the plane disaster videos and eventually developed a slight fear of flying. After watching these daredevils, I have an even bigger fear of boating. On to roller coaster disasters next, I guess. Oh, what the hell, you gotta die of something.😂
Parents should be charged for no life jackets for their children and infant baby. The boat captain should also be charged and held responsible for the people in his care. These waves are brutal for a babies spine and neck. Reckless endangerment and stupidity!
Loose term calling him a "captain "....i would imagine there are stringent measures in place before you reach that status
Well i would bet none of these children will ever set foot on a boat unless dragged to it. Except the infant i suppose...
In Australia the captain would be fined! We all know the americas don’t like their ‘freedom’ restricted though… it my right to not wear PFD’s, seat belts in vehicles etc.

Welcome to Florida laws.
seems to be the norm , no life jacket . i guess they too tough to need to wear one , or too stupid. i know which one is probably the right assumption.
Oh the joy of terrified kids screaming, without any buoyancy devices and a numpty boat driver, or craptain with absolutely no idea
All these guys need to do an instructional course in safe boat handling.
@billtaylor2050 - Craptain! I love it.
Guy is a complete moron. Cant he see the kids are terrified
3:20. IT'S A SHAME, POOR KIDS ! 😢😢😢
Yep some of these guys are complete idiots. I bet you a lot of those people never go out on the guy’s boat again.
Those little kids in the Scout will be terrified of boats as long as they live.
...and no life preservers.
Nah, it’s how they got here in the first place.
Fr
Wow... stupidity truly has no boundries with you........@@NPCHSN
But but but,, he was flying the flag, merika fark yeah
That captain with the child and young children should be charged with reckless endangerment.
That guy should be arrested! Nobody had a life preserver on INCLUDING an infant!
Anyone navigating those kind of waters should have their head examined for even buying an open bow boat !!!
Yes 🔥 I Stated The Law… Arrested And Boat Impounded As Well As Child Endangerment Charges
The terror in their cries, how could you be so stupid to do that to them. Evil it is.
Y’all should try competitive knitting! 😂
He had the look of I don't care and I am kind of bored. No soul in him. EDIT: and he needs a new flag!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I’ve got a strong feeling the scout captain is about to go viral
Nothin like going out for some fun and coming in with a broken back
Unbelievable, people flying up out of their seats, and the drivers don’t even slow down, plain stupidity. Definitely can hurt one’s back. Also, there should be a speed limit once inside the breakwater.
OMG.the guy with the 2 little kids on the t/top is crazy
I think those were women not little kids but I agree it's nuts and asking for someone to get seriously hurt.
I'M AN EX-COASTIE AND 50% OF THESE BOATERS SHOULDN'T BE ALOUD NEAR A BOAT LET ALONE CAPTAIN ONE!!
Looking at most of the boats makes me cringe at the stupidity of those that endanger the lives of so many children. Where is the COAST GUARD !!!
2:50 The captain seemed to be completely oblivious to what was going on, he was like a robot.
He was more concerned with his beloved boat than his passengers… he is a ‘tool’ 😎
he obviously do not know how to take waves
9:12 that trolling motor has some nice flexibility…IM IMPRESSED!!!….Tom
For real, impressive but should remain untested like that
Hey look, some big waves. Let’s all go get on the bow 😂😂
You can always spot the people that have a boat or boat people. Just look at where they choose to sit.
Those parents have no idea how close they came to losing their child.
that first one is going to be one long, quiet, and tense ride home.
Some real brainiacs in this week's edition. 🤣
Darwin award contenders.
I presume the Capt of MoJo at 23:00 has never performed a "Man Over Board" practice. The time he took to recover the mat, had it been a person in the water the poor sod would have drowned.
Miami ladies are built for that boat bounce. Stay safe to all
Does Florida have ANY enforcement of the boating laws? How about child endangerment for the kids on the T top? I mean, they have the FWC, local yokels, county Mounties, Coast Guard, Homeland Security, and god knows how many others. WTF are they when we have kids on the T top through the inlet?
Hi im from New Zealand and we have some very knarly bar crossings and it is mandatory to wear life vests jackets no matter the water conditions. I agree this guy should be held accountable .Poor child .
A lesson in throttle control needed by most.
More like birth control if you ask me!!
Where’s the Billy Mays screen door flex seal boat? 😂
2:50 that baby could’ve got whiplash that is not safe
Yeah that was bad :/ .
20:27 That white cigarette boat was blown! You can hear the chargers screaming!
you can buy an expensive boat... but you can't buy common sense.
Apparently not, I’ve been thinking the same thing watching these videos.
Or brains 😢

perfect example at 7:48...
Oh this is one for the record books. The guy with the trolling motor hanging off the front!😂 i want to party with him!
The Beast by Midnight Express looked Smooth and Sharp!!!🎉
Haulover should be named the Million a Minute Inlet. A million bucks worth of boats go through every minute.
The way I see it , it’s tiered system 1. The ones who can afford the boats
2. The ones who can afford to take these clips
3. People on the beach
4. Me . I can only watch from here , and I’m thankful I can beautiful boats ❤️
Mama ain't paying for that ride !!😂😂😂😂 😮
Drop us here!!
This is hrs of cheap, ignorant entertainment . . . . I love it 😅 !
Cost of boats seems to leave skippers with no cash for lifejackets..!
The most brutal losses ive seen yet!
Not sure what day you filmed, but idiocy ran wild.
Is compilation video
We don't need no stinking weight and balance, everyone forward!
@miked5539 - Precisely what I was thinking.
All those small children and at least 6 month old baby with zero life jackets……….un-freaking-believable!!😡
Do they not require life preservers for all aboard the boat? Because 10:39 Deep Impact has about 20+ people on board.
Big waves + small boats = broken bones !!!!!!!!!!!! LOL
Would timing departures and arrivals with the proper tide help? Could they slow down or would that be an even bigger problem?
Watch the boat at 18:15. That’s the way you do it.
Good to see the original Formula first production line out there 11:06 - 11:24!
In those waters ,nobody rides up front for several reasons ,and little ones with no life preserver damn shameful and illegal on most navigable waterways.also for sale 1brand newish boat, only stuffed several times, mostly on the weekends.might need a new bilge pump and re-upholstered unless your into saltwater mold. .
holy crushed vertebrae batman.......
Why are dealers selling Scouts and Boston whalers in that area and why are they allowed to even launch from piers or outlets like those?
Boats are getting beat up, and the wave runners are having a blast.
Some of these csnt be helped except for staying st the dock. If its sloppy, youre going to get slapped around, depending on the size of your boat. But dome of the others, trim tabs are a thing. So is appropriate speed.
why do so many of them get 85%+ out of the inlet but then decide to turn back? like dude you were there.
what is the correct way to drive through these conditions?
Im someone who has no idea about boats but finds these videos fascinating 😂
Ploughing through full throttle is not the way to!
It involves using the steering wheel and throttle together to finesse an approach.
@@servant1999 yep, i gathered as much. Should you be riding the backs of the waves then?
I loved the kid in the bowrider with the goggles on.
All of these videos show that the boats that submarine are usually the ones where people are sitting in the front weighing the bow down, instead of riding by the helm or toward the stern. They are a good tool to show my wife that, yes, where the passengers sit in a boat matters A LOT to the balance and steering.
I realized too late where this was filmed when staying at the Ritz that this was next to where I was at or I would have come out to say what's up!!
Next time!
Lovely place! Be aware our camera man doesn’t speak English at all. But he’s very nice guy.
Stop the boat and let me off lol
- it is always gratifying that all the children are wearing life jackets, even adults this time! It's great that you have such a high regard for safety!
notice the blue boat that came in to shore had no registration numbers( i think that is what they are called) on the sides
Notice how most of the others don’t have them either?
Serious question, is this a really dangerous zone or there are too many captains that don't have a clue of what they are doing? I mean, something doesn't add up... If I'd be an inexperienced boat owner I wouldn't go with a full throttle
I'm no boat engineer, but I have a serious question. Why would you design a boat in the shape of a scoop shovel and be surprised when it gets stuffed?
As I read the comments, California is any child 13 and under.
Rest of us, Florida also, kids under 6 when in anything smaller than 26' long AND moving. These videos of this inlet are popular but if you've never been, everyone gathers to watch the show. But if you love bigger than lake boats then you'll feel like your on a standard roller coaster.
@8:50 what make/model is that? Rides the waves beautifully!
Look at me, look at me, haha
That's just it, so many stinking cameras ! Tight lines Captain Keith
I guess what amazes me is the number of boat operators (not captains) that seem to think they can do any better than all the other boaters that have tried and failed at getting in or out of the inlet.
I love it. 6' swells and we are in the bow. Must be a new concept? Water in the boat. No need to move weight around...Its a Boat!
You should Never sit in the bow of a boat when crossing an inlet like this, completely unnecessary risk.
in my opinion no center console boats are sea worthy in really rough water (over 6'). How long can they take on water over the nose before the water is over the batteries and time for S.O.S.
Midnight Expresses are sooo beautiful.
Maybe one day but not in this life
Starting at 1:11 the grenades took a beating 😁
People heading into the open ocean with a single engine bowrider intended for a lake. I don't get it.
Entertaining maybe, but I got a couple of questions. 1. Why do so many feel the need to power slam their craft into the face of oncoming waves? 2. Why isn't everyone on those craft wearing PFD's?
The comment section is not for intelligent questions. You will need to dumb it down some.
The guy behind the wheel 2.40 not givin a .. 😂😂😂
2:52 someone’s gonna need water pumps 😅 14:34 the starboard gear case blew up, and he lost everything… it’s empty
It’s impressive how many boaters are caught on camera doing their first run through the haulover.
Either that or many of them haven’t learned from their previous mistakes
Crazy boat piloting, shouldn’t be allowed to ever take that scout out again.
I’m not an angler or a boat person… can someone explain how you’re supposed to drive out of here? The waves look impossible
Do you get a refund if your Charter Captain can't navigate a lil chop???
Lotta Boat beat down happening in this vid, with a much deserved "Clueless Captain" award. "Lets go for a boat ride'.....they said. "It'll be fun".....they said...
Bilge pumps are working overtime today 😂
Is the entrance so confining that boaters can’t properly orient their boat to the waves or are the waves forms just too irregular? One of the most popular inlets to be filmed by several different YT pages. It is notorious for dousing, submarining and spanking vessels of all sizes.
Dude in the Scout…What a Mr. Macho! Rather look “cool” than care for the passengers.
The bowriders are hilariously funny.
cool video.amazing waves
Axopar is definitely capable boats, but it can occasionally digg the bow in and try to go sideways when going same direction as the waves.
Lots of money in that area. I would like a what do you do for a living on water
Why does everyone sit in the front?
Kap in the navy scout ... What are u doing bro.... any PFDs onboard.... kids on the bow 🤔
Hi anybody, is there a proper way to navigate the boats through rough waters safely, besides not going out in the first place?
Step one- do not load everyone in the Bow of the boat.
Why do parents think that small children will enjoy a bowrider in rough waves? They ALWAYS cry and scream and are never wearing PFDs. Captain should be ticketed!
And dad just continues on with motor trimmed all the way down 😂
When is the thumbnail?
These comments are golden!
Will never understand why some of those small ass boats go out in those waves
Was the mystery boat a Scarab? It was pretty smooth.
Surely there should be water officers checking licences at the boat ramp and charging people!
Those little kids in the Scout boat riding in the bow were terrified plus no L Jacket
"The Sea Was Angry That Day My Friends"
Art Vandelay
The driver ( not Captain) was pointing out places of interest while the passengers were dying in front of him, mostly children.
You never ride up front during rough conditions. Everyone should be behind the helm.
I have no experience in salt water boating. I have experience on lakes, so no idea how to drive a boat through waves like this. Is there a better way to pilot a boat through the inlet? Or is it just that people should avoid this inlet when it is like this? Also, that Scout captain is terrible. It is particularly rough when the tide and wind are in opposition.
Well, I used to watch the plane disaster videos and eventually developed a slight fear of flying. After watching these daredevils, I have an even bigger fear of boating. On to roller coaster disasters next, I guess. Oh, what the hell, you gotta die of something.😂
Do not sit in front of the boat in such waves. How hard can it be?
Boatniks don't know what a trim tab is for, or much else. Don't be a boatnik.
Know your vessel, know the rules, know how to operate her.
I just love the fatsos rolling and bouncing on the bow😂
There's no speed limit in the channel?
