Calamity has so many viable weapons for melee that I'd imagine this video was difficult to put together, but you absolutely killed it. For endgame, I personally use the Animus because it has insane dps (like just about every other weapon at this point). Also, I love Servants of the Devourer and Pest of the Cosmos, two of my favourite tracks by Dokuro.
For anyone watching this after the really big update that calamity recently got, the beetle armour with beetle wings now massively outclasses hydrothermic (ataxia) from what I've found at post golem stages (for melee characters). The attack boosting chest gives massive stat bonuses, and make the wings like a destroyer emblem as well, while also having higher total defence than hydrothermic normally. The defence chest piece is far bulkier and the wings become a second worm scarf for tanking most enemies at its stage in the game.
@Safiya Chikh yeah reaver is pretty good but I'd say with beetle wings the armour beats out everything else at its level Edit: also Duke can be beaten fairly easily with Daedalus, frozen wings and titanium armour
I'm not a Terraria expert or anything but I've been playing this mod in Revengeance HC and honestly the Beetle Shell is still OP, especially when paired with the Bat Wings, forget about the Beetle Wings. Yeah you lose some horizontal speed mobility (I tested it and couldn't tell the difference), but you can keep the world at night time permanently with the Cosmolight, so you are getting pretty big bonuses to movement, damage and defense with those wings. It's just incredibly tanky and with respectable damage.

did you eat the celestial onion because at the end of the video you have 683 health i ate it before but before i ate it i turned auto save off and i lost half my health then i closed the game lol
Why the hell are there so much endgame melee weapons? And plus because Gael's Greatsword is Post Yharon(P2) so it's easy as crap to defeat scal not like it wasn't already easy enough with AOC+Exoblade
I've been doing a death mode melee playthrough, and a combination of the eutrophic shank and luxor's gift absolutely carried me through all of prehardmode up to the slime god. It's the only shortsword in prehardmode that actually works with luxor's gift, and the slow projectiles make it perfect for prehardmode bosses, especially brain and the perforators.
For anyone looking to cheese out early boss kills in higher difficulties, try out the Yatevo Bloom with the Luxor's Gift (shrine treasure from Desert). For some reason the right click spear thrust on Yatevo can cancel itself early. Combining this very rapid fire melee animation with the yatevo's relatively high early damage and the luxor's slow semi-piercing projectiles, and you can turn any early boss fight into a bullet hell... for the boss. Honestly the only problem is finding the goddamn desert shrine. It has made the yatevo easily viable up to Perforators and Queen Bee in my current Revengance playthrough.
Without switching worlds and stuff, how do you get the worm scarf which drops from the eater of worlds but also get a crimson chest for the vampire knives?
5:20 Beetle armor is tons better than Ataxia, and Influx Waver is also a viable weapon at this point. And the next, pre-ML, also beetle armor At yharon P2, you forgot two amazing weapons. Greatsword of Blah and the Cosmic Shiv. Both can dish out tons of damage and both home in if i recall correctly.
If you use the candles bought from the Drunk Princess, you'll actually get a somewhat good bonus during the fight, mainly focusing on life regen, extra damage reduction, and extra damage output.
you know what you should do with the magic storage in the maso mode run? destroy them. then put it in a bigger place to make other storage units for more space and inventory included. If you don't know what i mean, basically put the magic storages somewhere else in a bigger place and make more magic storage like WAY more because its really helpful.
Perfect timing, me and my buddies are doing calamity mod, and I happen to be the melee guy. We just beat skeletron and I was still using amidias' trident like an idiot, meanwhile they had the cool stuff like the meteor fist and the dank staff
I would recommend you use more images when you are talking about a item, that way people can know what item it is and maybe you can put the recipes or what enemy drop it :)
For most of the hardmore and prehardmode bosses, you could go for a tanky build with true melee. That is the easiest way to kill bosses This also works with post moonlord if you have thorium mod on aswell. All you need to craft is terrarians last knife and then a high dps calamity weapon, like stellar striker, and then youre set for every boss exept scal
Only thing I’ll add is Elemental Excalibur to endgame. I ranked 80-90% of the boss rush with it alone using its right-click true melee. I only had to switch to Ark of the Cosmos for SCAL. Otherwise great video, and wish me luck in Revengance mode!!
Hey Gungnir, you should try the Mod of Redemption. Its wiki may not be finished, but it sure is fun and has its own structures, NPCs, post Moon Lord bosses, and a new class that is like Mage but doesn't rely much on mana to kill enemies with them. (Well first, finish off the Masomode series, but you can still try it as an easier playthrough)
For the Pre-Boss Stage i would use: Enchanted Sword + Seashell Boomerang + the Victide sword (forgot name), obviously Victide armour, Hermes Boots, Cloud in a Bottle (Sandstorm if possible) and if no Pyramid curse, Flying Carpet
My current playthrough, I'm going for a glass cannon melee build: Omega Blue Armor, Samurai Badge, Reaper Tooth Necklace, Dimensional Soul Artifact, plus Celestial Tracers, Elemental Gauntlet, Absorber, and Statis' Void Sash. IDK how it will work out but I'm looking forward to it :)

@@lucasfrancisco3432 In calamity mod, the generation of ores is not tied to the demon altars. Instead, you must kill the mech bosses. When you kill one, you get cobalt/palladium, with two you get mythril/orchalium and with three you get titanium/adamantite. The weapon that drops from the first one is still however very useful.
I think earth is actually fairly useless at the stage of the game you get it in(unless you're playing true melee), since you can get about the same dps and lifesteal with illustrious knives, but since they home in, it's much easier to hit and due to that you're more guaranteed to heal and deal a lot of damage

For pre-mech the very good choise - Fetid Baghnakhs, with adrenaline and rage it will be so powerful against destroyer and, maybe, the twins.

For anyone trying, titanium adamantite and deadalus armor are impossible pre mesh. As you must kill two mechs for the correct ores to spawn.
