If nobody's said it yet, prismatic lacewings can only be killed when you get close to them. It's to stop you accidentally spawning empress from a mile away.

@prismaticlacewing expert mode makes enemies pick up coins, and i think they never despawn if they have alot of money(ex: 1 gold)

Ok a little bit of a trivia I learned from mappy gaming is that enemies do despawn even with the coins, the coin icon on the map just resembles the place they despawned in, coming back to the radius of that enemy respawns them with more health, this is exploited already by mappy themselves by making a money farm based on this mechanic
9:00 "It was clear that the spider set wasn't going to cut it". This makes me upset because he had more than 3 seconds to heal at the end of the fight there, the spider set was cutting it. I always spam the H key when I'm low.
At that point for summoner the Obsidian set would've been much better anyways, not that much less defense but a lot more damage output

@RoundShades It got moved to hellforge last patch I think, but you can still find regular anvils in the mines anyways

@Mumtaz, Reza nah, I say this because of how it influences building. No Tools allows you to build, but digging becomes difficult. No Build allows you to dig, but you can't place anything.

Very similar to a challenge I’ve been wanting to do which is no tools no weapons, only consumables. I defined tools as axes, pickaxes, and hammers since that makes it easier since you can fish for hard mode ores because you really need armour when using stuff like grenades

@ZaCloud-Animations___she-her yeah they aren’t, I defined tools as axes pick axes and hammers (pretty much just tools that break blocks) mostly because I thought fishing would be needed (probably still is due to very limited damage options so better armours would help a ton, especially on mechs and moonlord)

You can use flight mounts for all of master hard mode. You start with pillion or Dutchman, then switch to broom later.
Technically you can’t even use shadow chests since keys are classed as tools according to the terraria wiki. this also goes for the temple key and golden key

I just found out more and somehow movement items are tools along with guides to peaceful coexistance
You probably could have gone full summoner in hard mode, you can buy tiki armor, and you can craft spooky armor at a workbench.
pretty sure you need a mythril anvil to make the pumpkin moon medallion, so spooky armor would be out of the picture.

This reminds me of my first world that had a glitch and didn’t generate any demon or crimson altars
I make 3 block wide houses all the time. You just have to make them a bit taller. All my NPCs live in rooms that fit exactly 1 chair and 1 work bench, i think they're 3x8 rooms.

I don't know of anyone has said it yet, but I'm going to. 8:05 dilemma can also be fixed with meteorites. Put chests all over the world except for places with altars that are exposed. So the meteorite will land on the altars, destroying them and causing the mech bosses to spawn. Very niche knowledge.

Minecarts are always the superior mobility option for bosses, they just require more resource gathering, planning, and iterative design changes. Ad-hoc movement is easier and arguably more fun, but planning out a bosses movement to specifically abuse can be very very powerful, sometimes being needed during challenge runs
Sure, but placing the minecart tracks, then realizing you messed up & need to re-place them, is much harder in this challenge. 😂

The keys of night that you used are listed on the tools page, just under the generic page "keys" which lists golden keys, biome keys, and the soul keys.
Gonna be real with you, maybe the reason you died against the Twins was because you were using the Firecracker of all things to support your Blade Staff instead of, I don't know, something with tag damage
What exactly could he have used that didnt require something he couldnt use per the challenge? The last whip he couldve got was the snapthorn or spinal tap

Snapthorn and Spinal Tap vs. Twins work fine. Obsidian armour especially lets you reach them with the shorter pre-hardmode whips, and you only need to hit them every once in a while anyway for Blade Staff to work properly

Regular anvils can be bought from the merchant. Only the hardmode anvil isn't available
@mauriciomoraisferreira2399 not a mythril anvil, so you could get an anvil from an underground cabin or craft one from lead or iron from a chest. actually, the obsidian outlaw armour only needs a hellforge anyway

the hardmode progression in this challenge is very similar to a challenge run i'm planing, "Enemy Drops Only", where the biggest differance is that you have almost no mana because you can't get any fallen stars. The most important things to note are that you will be allowed to get wood and platforms for building arenas and farms, but you cant use it for any other crafting.
So you will be limited to only crafting recipes that have only enemy drops, only crafted at crafting stations that naturally spawn in the world that can't be moved (unless you craft it youself, like an anvil from iron/lead ore dropped by slimes).
No fishing drops can be used, but you can fish for blood moon enemies for drops, IF you can figure out a way to get enemy dropped bait.
No selling or buying from npcs.
You can get life crystals up to 400 hp, but no life fruit.
No items from breaking pots or chests can be used.
I would highly recommend playing on Journy mode, to increse spawn rates and to stop time to make farming for day and night time enemies faster, but no other Journy functions can be used, and none of the Journy mode specific starting items can be used, such as the wings, tourches, rope or the magic mirror.

Shadow dodge is such a good set bonus that in 1.3 you could easily take titanium armor all the way to moon lord, hence why it got switched to hallowed armor so you had to wait longer to get it.

When you were saying how you would get the mech boss summons, you said that all enimes have the chance, when actually it's every hardmode mob has a chance

If you were going for defense during the mech bosses stage then definitely should have gone for dd2 armor since the squire set has more defense than adamantite or titanium
