Yes Eric was a great drummer. Love his double kick and toms he did on the Oath. I like the Elder but could have been their return to hard rock if they did more songs like this, I, The Island and Mr. Blackwell. Could have been great like Creatures was. Love this performance!

This album was a challenge for Eric Carr because he forced kiss to play heavier because he was a badass drummer and they knew it. And they wanted to do this album a little bit softer but it's still rock with that Carr. Let's celebrate Eric Carr

It really is such a tragedy that Eric Carr didn't have a lot of great material to work with when he was in Kiss. He seemed like a great drummer that could have elevated good songs into great songs. But when he was in Kiss it seemed like his drumming was elevating mediocre songs into good songs.
I mean, Forever is a great ballad that he elevated to something truly special with his drumming. Creatures Of The Night is mainly as great as it is because of Eric having more creative control over what he played. The guy could have been the next John Bonham, but instead he was more like John Rutsey (great drummer who never showcased his full potential because of what he had to work with. Geddy and Alex weren't the same guys who wrote 2112 when he was with them).

The solo albums weren't successful, followed by Dynasty, which was commercially successful but hated (probably undeservedly) by many fans, followed by the universally reviled Unmasked... so yeah, by the time they made The Elder there was zero patience left for an experimental fairy tale album. Huh? Are you sure? The Elder is horrible. It was in '81 and still is today. This is not a rock album. This is not a Kiss record. Ace and Eric Carr knew it was a mistake but they were overruled. Gene and Paul will admit today the record is awful. COTN from '82 blows this record away. In this performance you can easily see that Paul cannot hit the high notes that he did in the studio and the breakdown section with the keyboards should've been edited out.

You have to be kidding? This stuff sucks... KISS has so many great songs and the mainstay of those will always be Paul's and Gene's voices and performances. Ace really has little to do with it...

It was supposed to be the soundtrack for a film. Try listening to Toto's "Dune" music by itself, rather than as the soundtrack of Dune.

Such an underrated Kiss track. One of my faves! ...and many cudos to Arch Enemy for doing an AMAZING cover of it. If you have not heard it, check it out.

They put in a good performance here. They were always great live and still are. Saw them this year 2020, right before pandemic.

Great sound here especially for TV. Totally live which is cool. Watch Ace right before his first solo..looks offstage and gives the soundguy the turn me up sign👍

@@TheGodYouWishYouKnew Well I will say this with 100% confidence. Ace's guitar talent far exceeds Paul Stanley's vocal talent and as far as Paul Stanley on guitar they aren't even in the same universe.

They played it on the kiss kruise and it sounded fine and anyone who goes to a Kiss concert at least 90% of the people know the song and it would have been super cool to have something new added to the set it would have been exciting
