I never understood why Paul is so hung up about the failed sales of The Elder. Sometimes it takes time to evolve a classic Kiss Album. The Elder is one of the best. But it took 30 years for this to evolve. I'm sure by now it's a top selling Kiss album.

The Elder was more of Bob Ezrin and Gene's idea. I don't think Paul ever really liked it, but it did lend it's self to Gene's love of fantasy and horror. In my opinion, that album was the best mistake they ever made, one of my favourite KISS albums.

Such a shame the commercial priorities of the time clouded over the vision in which this album was created, has endured and is probably played as much (if not more) than the other great albums KISS released at the height of their popularity. Eric Singer absolutely took this song to a whole new level, you can tell he wants to keep Eric Carr's legacy alive by making those drums sound like bombs going off!!!

      Lance Fraizer
He sounds ok, but they’re hardly like “bombs going off.”
He’s a good drummer but he’ll never be on the same league as Eric Carr. This proves it here.

@@christine3043 Singer is ten times the drummer Eric Carr was. I like Eric a lot, but he simply didn't have the skills a guy like Eric Singer displays.

oooFURYooo ....we’ll have to agree to disagree. :)
Singer is solid, but nothing special. He’ll never be talked about as being a great drummer. He’s just there and forgettable. Very good at what he does but very run of the mill. He sounds like so many others. I find his style cookie cutter and boring. I’ve been playing for 42 years of my 48 years on this planet, and I think Singer is meh. My opinion.
Singer can’t play as good as Carr or sing as good as Criss.
      Cheers. Thanks for the discussion.

      oooFURYooo .....thanks for the laugh.
I was polite and kind towards you and you chose to insult. Your opinion is that, an opinion. Not fact. I said we can agree to disagree.
I could be childish and make an insulting comment as you did to me, but I’m an adult and there’s no need.
Thanks again for the laugh. Have a good one.

This tune and "I", are the best songs off The Elder. Its too bad Paul can't hit the highs anymore. Still, nice to hear it live.
