The Elder is the most underrated and misunderstood album of the Kiss catalog. This is one of the most beautiful songs ever written. It's also one of Kiss' greatest songs.
If you are a true kiss fan you'll love every song no matter how terrible it is ..to the kiss army the demon and starchild can do no wrong and really they can make gold out of horseshit all there stuff seems to have meaning to me for some reason... music is awesome
That's because it sucks. IMO. Gene and Paul were writing apart. It was a crappy concept album about the "chosen one". That concept was not written about very deeply. The producer never came into the studio to guide and direct or whoever he was due to free basing the hell outta coke. Was a real down time for Kiss but they recovered bigly!
Gene always had a good voice, a unique voice at that. You can hear it in the older albums. His background vocals are awesome and very noticeable as well. Wish this song was about one minute longer!
I've never heard him like this. I totally missed "The Elder". My first Kiss LP was after this with "Creatures of the Night". Great songs they are Gene does his usual with "Love it Loud" and "War Machine".

I too love this song and the album. Just think how much this song means in today's world situations, April 4 2020. Where would we be without the front line heroes. Stay safe every one, we're in this together. Much love from Jacksonville Fla.
This is a great song. Gets buried down in the KISS catalogue just from the sheer number of great songs they have. Great lead vocal by Gene. Great solo by Paul. He was always a very soulful lead player as oppose to Aces unique style
Paul doesn't get the respect he deserves. He is no John Lennon, yet, he is a solid and accomplished guitarist. I'd enjoy guitar lessons course working thorough his playing style.
I remember seeing this for the first time on tv . It was a special moment even though it didn’t get the attention it deserved . The song is simply brilliant and very moving . The album is a matter of taste but over time it got better and one can really appreciate it today ! I love Kiss so maybe I’m impartial but I love the album . The oath , Just a boy , only you , under the rose , and this song are as good as any kiss songs they have released . Miss the 80’s !!

"A World Without Heroes"
A world without heroes
Is like a world without sun
You can't look up to anyone
Without heroes
And a world without heroes
Is like a never ending race
Is like a time without a place
A pointless thing devoid of grace
Where you don't know what you're after
Or if something's after you
And you don't know why you don't know
In a world without heroes
In a world without dreams
Things are no more than they seem
And a world without heroes
Is like a bird without wings
Or a bell that never rings
Just a sad and useless thing
Where you don't know what you're after
Or if something's after you
And you don't know why you don't know
In a world without heroes
There's nothing to be
It's no place for me

gene simmons is a trump loving idiot
Love it! 💜
Melhor fase do Kiss!! Podem falar que não mas é!!!
1977
Great song !!!!
exelente canción !!!
Gene was talking about his bass playing. He was highly underrated as a bassist. Listen to the earlier kiss live stuff where the bass can be heard and you will be amazed.
the best song of Gene Simmons
Π Μακεντουδης And the only.
Naked City is Gene’s best song.
A world without heroes
Is like a world without sun
You can't look up to anyone
Without heroes
And a world without heroes
Is like a never ending race
Is like a time without a place
A pointless thing devoid of grace
Where you don't know what you're after
Or if something's after you
And you don't know why you don't know
In a world without heroes
In a world without dreams
Things are no more than they seem
And a world without heroes
Is like a bird without wings
Or a bell that never rings
Just a sad and useless thing
Where you don't know what you're after
Or if something's after you
And you don't know why you don't know
In a world without heroes
There's nothing to be
It's no place for me
Fantastic
Dude---this song is SO FUCKING GOOD.
KISS never got the credit they deserved for this beautiful song :/
Good song. Very underrated
Paul should play more solos, he may not have a fast and flashy technique but he has lots of feel...
Yes, this is pretty good, although I did hear a bum note or two, but you are right, lots of feel.
