i was there bloody great still put on great show afl grand final in Australia 2023 was great still got it will go down as one of the greatest band ever
Kiss set a precedent in their hard rock genre of masked band, becoming true global icons. A concept introduced into the world of rock not only by them but by other groups of that era. Two come to mind: Genesis and Goblin. Italy but then there were many who decided to follow that trend, surely Kiss were the ones who had the most original and unmistakable flamboyant costumes that threw the public into a state of profound euphoria and frustration in trying to emulate them each of their concerts was a majestic event that drove the audience crazy, caught in a collective delirium, especially when the leader of the group and main singer made interludes with his wonderful vocal range between one song and another, announcing the titles of the songs in the set list expected from their live concerts which were performed from time to time and the girls during their songs accompanied their famous hits with their sensual body dance and to think that the group had problems with how the letters s were written in the band's name because for some right-thinking people it was an evocation reminiscent of the Nazi SS.
This takes me back. I just moved to Australia. This was my first KISS show in Australia. I remember seeing them on Rove Live a few nights before the show. It brings back so many memories.
It's a credit to the Melbourne Symphony Ensemble that they're able to adapt KISS' hard rock into the fabric of their orchestral music. Now THAT is artistry...
Can't keep the Aussies down whatsoever! They appreciate KISS a little more musically than most do. Heck, we can never get Shandi stateside, and that's one of my favorites currently on Unmasked!
Except bon scott is better and so is brian johnson, ozzy is better. Hell Gene is a better singer than paul. Eric is the best singer in the band. And lets not forget pauls lip syncing...
For the Freddy Mercury nut-swinger's, you're reading too many liberal rags like RS. Freddy was amazingly talented, but his voice didn't have the timbre, the depth, the scope, or the soul Paul's has. And I'm not trying to come off like I'm some douchey vocal coach expert. Obviously I'm making a hyperbolic statement in claiming Pauls the greatest ever. In my book, no one touches him in his prime. The problem is, Gene Simmons likes to publicly act like a cunt, so most of the "Kiss sucks", too cool for school crowd can't name 5 Kiss songs. Listen to "Hide Your Heart" from 1990 in Detroit, the vocal runs Paul's doing live at the end of that song are fucking beyond comprehension. I have always said how bitchin' a Stanley/Cornell collaboration back in the 90's, when Paul could still bring it would have been. Cornell's a great example of another singer who had amazing range and also had power, depth, breadth, and passion in his voice. If we're going to honestly start pulling people like Cornell and Mercury into the conversation, you've also got to pull mid 80's Don Dokken into it, because his voice was powerful, soulful, melodic, and just epic on songs like "Lightening Strikes Again."
I've been up and down, I've been all around I was mystified, almost terrified But late at night I still hear you call my name I've been on my own, I've been all alone I was hypnotized, I felt paralyzed But late at night I still want you just the same I've been a gambler, but I'm nobody's fool And I sure know something, sure know something You showed me things they never taught me in school And I sure know something, sure know something No one can make me feel the way that you do And I sure know something, aha I was seventeen, you were just a dream I was mesmerized, I felt scared inside You broke my heart and I still can feel the pain I've been counted out, I've had fear and doubt I've been starry eyed, never satisfied Cause late at night I still need you just the same Just the same I've been a gambler, but I'm nobody's fool And I sure know something, sure know something You showed me things they never taught me in school And I sure know something, sure know something No one can make me feel the way that you do And I sure know something, aha I've been counted out, I've had fear and doubt I've been starry eyed, never satisfied Cause late at night I still need you just the same Just the same, yeah I've been a gambler, but I'm nobody's fool And I sure know something, sure know something You showed me things they never taught me in school And I sure know something, sure know something No one can make me feel the way that you do And I sure know something, sure know something No one can tell me till I hear it from you And I sure know something, sure know something I've been a gambler, but I'm nobody's fool Sure know something, sure know something You showed me things they never taught me in school Sure know something, sure know something No one can make me feel the way that you do

I think the backing vocals at Unplugged were slightly better. I think Eric’s voice blends better with Gene’s in the “sure know something”s than Tommy’s. They all do a great job with the bridge though - including Peter, if he sings that part somewhere in the mix (he looked like he might be in the few video shots).
Kiss' way of wearing make-up and dressing in those years was the inspiration for creating the story of a cult film which became a generational myth and American urban legend for those years and not only was the title of the film THE WARRIORS in Italian I GUERRIERI DELLA NOTTE in which there was a GANG of warriors who were made up in a similar way to the singer of the group KISS and who faced THE WARRIORS in a street fight.
Bruna era arrabbiatissima mentre suonava il violino in questo brano perchè gli avevano fatto un acconciatura a banana con la permanente come il demone Simmons che gli ha dato parecchi primi piani durante l'esecuzione del brano.
Bruna was very angry while playing the violin in this song because they gave him a banana hairstyle with a perm like the demon Simmons who gave him several close-ups during the performance of the song.
