- One of the lost gems KISS didn't include in the Kissology series. With Ace on guitar (for the last time) KISS played Creatures of the Night in lip-sync several times during their promotional TV tour in Europe.
This is not an official video!!! It's a little montage I made with the best scenes from that tour... the closest thing we'll ever get to a Promo Video for this great tune.

Best album, Eric Carr the best, poor guy, tears for him.
What a beautiful thing to say. I miss him too. My favourite drummer For a band from the 70s like kiss, aerosmith, Black sabbath, And I bet alot of glam bands were inspired by them. And also when it comes to glam metal its just so amazing but when you like kiss, And ac dc And Judus priest there's nothing wrong with that, And also. May this cool man rest in peace up in heaven. I miss him, He is my fav drummer with The drummers for Yngwie malmsteen, Firehouse, Silient rage, Spread angle, And the ones for the almighty Alice Cooper.!

To me kiss ran like a drag racing enginethe drummer mimics the piston fire ,get it? peter was like say half assed 87 octain that choked it up Eric CAR was the 100+octain that the moter so desperately needed no other Iway can say it man rest in peace thunder paws (respectfully)............

A truly underrated and overlooked kiss album. This should’ve been a bigger success
"Creatures Of The Night" was one of the best ever KISS albums to me! I love everything they have done, especially the early years, with Ace and Peter, but this record, the second with drummer Eric Carr, and first album to feature Vinnie Vincent on guitar(among other special guests, even though Ace was featured in promotions), was one of the heaviest albums ever and truly chillingly awesome. I love every album KISS ever made to this day, but this one of my top favorites..
Agree. Paulk at his vocal best Eric doing the best drumming the band ver had. Vinnie brought in a very fresh style and somehow was accepted by the Ace fans..Unlike Tommy of today.
The album did "tank" *pun intended* but it's been acknowledged as one of their best albums.
I heard this song in 82 and was blown away..Kiss being serious and heavy good...incredible album ..This album would of been a big seller if this was released after Unmasked..The Elder killed most of their fans ..To get attention they took off the makeup for LIU and the rest is Kisstory

I had lost faith in KISS with Unmasked and The Elder. Then they returned with Creatures. Wow. Heavy once again.

@TStang… I can’t see Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley giving ANYONE Credit FOR ANYTHING. I think Eric Carr OUT DOES both Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley… but hey… we CAN’T HAVE THAT… now can we? Gene and Paul both think they can do EVERYTHING… ALL BY THEMSELVES.
They gave him plenty of credit back in the day not sure about now but they always talked him up and respected him in the 90s

My favorite song from one of my favorite KISS albums. When I first heard that opening drum, I completely freaked out!!!! It still ROCKS my world!!!!!!
I'd really love to know how metalheads in their teens aka guys like Hetfield, Mustaine, Hanneman etc reacted to this when it came out.
Cause if you close your eyes, and get past the stage persona and glitter, this is a damn heavy as f$ck metal song!!!!
Best KISS album
They most likely had moved on from KISS and probably didn't hear this album or if they did they thought, "Cool" but it didn't resonate with them. KISS was old news in 1982 so it didn't matter what they put out at that point.
Isn't "kill'em all" from 1982 or 83?
When this album was released Kill'em All repertoire was already being played live by Metallica. This song is pretty much based on an Ozzy song. I don't remember the name now, but it was heavier than this one.
Considering a lot of 80s metal bands ripped off this song, I imagine they loved this record.
Creatures of the Night is Kiss' metal album and this is why it stands out as their greatest.
To this day, the opening intro to "Creatures..." gives me chills!!!! Paul's grungy voice and the "cha-ga cha-ga cha-ga cha-ga" riffs during the verses ROCKS!!!!

Best KISS album IMHO. Even though Ace didn't play on this...this album is a masterpiece. I love how heavy this album is and how dark the cover and their look is.

I’ve always wondered what Ace thought of this song, he promoted it and the tour but never said his opinion of it. The closest thing he’s come to anything associated with this album was perform

When this song/ album came out electrified the air. We were so young I remember my friend saying “ I got the KISS new album “ and we ran to listen and see the album cover.

Steve said the Whammy Bar, Trem Stuff in the "Creatures" Solo, was from a Real, Original Floyd Rose Trem Bridge and Lock Nut System, he had recently gotten, upgraded one of his Guitars to, around 1982

What a kick ass album this is and one of my favourite bands best if not the best album so far c'mon kiss we need another now
It took 4 guitarists to make up for Ace, so wish that he could have played on this amazing album.
I got to know Steve Farris a little bit when I was a GUITAR Center Sales associate for a few years, amazed to meet and Sell some Music Gear he needed, to the PRO Studio Guitarist' Guy who Recorded the Coolest, Greatest KISS Lead Solo ever
DennyDenner yeah Steve was almost a Kiss member ..Kiss gave these players additions and actually used their solos for the album..no big deal to me

After Unmasked & The Elder I can see how expectations were low but this album is my favorite of all time. I love it loud because I LOVE ERICS DRUMS LOUD!! Long live the FOX RIP ERIC CARR
Dynasty, Unmasked, and The Elder were pretty good albums for what they were intended to be (disco, pop-rock, and a concept album) but Creatures of the Night is definitely a legitimate heavy metal album. It's definitely my favorite Kiss album.

KISS does not play much on this album it seems. Instead we got a lot of quality musicians (except Vinnie Vincent, who sucks).
KISS was SO over at this point. But, as hard-core fan, I still bought the album the day it came out. It was such a suprise and great feeling that such a comeback was made on this album.
I remember this song/album! I was 12 and so happy to see the return of the band I loved!

One of the heaviest hits by KISS and IMO, a very under-rated LP. KISS was going through a lot at this point in their careers, especially in the lead guitar department. Ace was on his way out and Vinnie Vincent was being phased in.

I remember when they released two different covers for this album. One of them with make-up and one of them without it. Always loved this song as well as "I Love It Loud." These guys are the reason I decided to take up the guitar.
The non make up version was a re-release in 1987. Same songs, just in a different order.
I almost forgot they also did promotional copies in South America with Vinnie air-brushed over Ace on the cover. I have a copy of it, very rare LP.

Such a GREAT song! I had a paper route in the 80s and used to blare this on my Walkman delivering the papers. Also to get this cassette I paid a lot to the other kid (Neil) that had the other half of the block, we both liked heavy metal but I couldn't find Creatures of the Night anywhere and had to have it. It was worth it.
Creatures showcased what a powerhouse Eric Carr was behind the kit.

it (The Lead Solo Player) is a Guitarist' named STEVE FARRIS, who not too long after recording the very cool "Creatures Solo", found eventual success in the band "Mr. Mister" who had a Couple Big Radio Hit Songs

I did this a looong time ago, just for me. I thought the title track of the record needed a video. It's not the best editing I've ever done but then the source material was all over the place, so I had to play with what I had.
I was like 5 years old when these guys were around and I still remember the music cos my sister used to listen to them all the time. classic!!!

In USA, the Heavy Metal was more popular a few years leater when bands like Metallica or Megadeth became more famous.
Even after Guns N Roses this kind of genre was more listen it in the mainstreem.
Creatures Of The Night wasn´t a very sold album, but I think that was more recognized over time.

Less people know that the bass guitar was played by the bassist of TOTO. I was so surprised knowing this for the first time.
Actually, he was not yet in Toto. He joined soon, though. Original Toto bassist was david hungate.
Any reason Gene didn't play bass?
@@MichaelSouhoka Eric Carr played bass on Hot In The Shade a song called "Little Caesar" & "Escape To The Island" from The Elder and some other songs. Gene did not always play bass on some of their songs. I remember when Gene was making the movie "Runaway" and other movies "Never Too Young To Die". Eric Carr would always fill in and do the bass parts and then they played it back to Gene to see if he liked Eric's recorded parts. He did and they released the songs.

at the time it came out i was so into war machine and i love it loud. but now its this song and i still love you that really stand the test. this song is just metal.
This was a little ahead of its time. The guitar work was more like music from the mid eighties imo …I remember thinking this new harder sound was different
