Wow I can’t believe Nikita Dragun is the only trans person who exists! Very cool for her
i love watching a podcast by cis people, for cis people, because no other trans people exist other than nikita
Everyone is cis until Nikita says otherwise and people need to respect that
what does this mean
@@lyonclaws5737 oh I’m just joshin, since she says she’s the first trans popstar I just took it a step further and said she’s the only trans person, just to poke fun at the fact that it’s just a false and silly statement. For the record I myself am also trans lol
she def acts like shes the only trans person
trans artists who make music about being trans:
✨❤️✨❤️✨❤️
trans artists who make music about non-trans things: ✨❤️✨❤️✨❤️
LEGENDS LEGENDS LEGENDS ! WHOO HOO ! LOOK AT YOU GO !
YEAHHH!!
hello moe!! :D
A legend supporting legends!
You’re a legend too Moe!!
wowo legends from a legend :') must be nice hihihi PS; I love the little Moe (certified) at the end of brennemies, nice touch!! ;P
if any of y’all like kpop, i’d recommend checking out harisu- a trans pop icon from the early 2000s. she was also only like the second person in korea to legally get her gender marker changed. she’s an amazing performer imo and still appears on tv shows to sing and perform
yesss
yes !
Lady was the first all-trans kpop woman group, debuting in 2005, as well. It’s so sad how all these groups and artists go unheard of because of prejudices. ):
Cool I don’t like k pop but I’ll check her out anyway
For trans artists, I love Sophie, Dorian Electra, Mood killer, and Frax
Omg frax hell yeah
@@bookishbrook2038 YES! their music is so good!
@@micky2708 you have such good music taste
@@bookishbrook2038 oh thanks! Some of my other fav artists are are Left at London and Alice Gas
@@bookishbrook2038 My fav song by them has to be butterfly knife or cishets (I don't want it at all)
Ryan's mustache is looking extra mustachey and good today 😌
extra mustachey I likeee (*might still it in the futur to compliment friends hihihi*)
As a trans woman, I just wanna say this is so spot on. Thank you for including our voices in this too, this is brilliant
21:38 hey that’s me :)) i just wanted to say thank you once again for using the platform you were both given to give back to the community!! i know ive probably said thank you a million times by now but i’m so extremely grateful
Wonderful video and as a cis black woman I can't speak on much for this topic but Thank you so much for even mentioning that point about some celebrities and some trans women trying to emulate physical attributes of black women and vaguely mentioning the blackfishing it irritates how often she conveniently avoids those criticisms
U can say what u think, its not like because i are not that very specific thing that is the topic u can’t have an opinion, obviously your opinion is going to be the result of your personal life and experience and is going to be your point of view. Its IMPORTANT to have different to have multiple point of view coming from different direction to have a discussion, if just a small group of people are al lower to speak about something we are not going anywere because they are just going to confirm the idea that they already have and are not going to be challenged
Brennen: i don't want to discourage anybody from dming us
Ryan: don't dm meeee
Check out Dorian Electra! They wrote a whole pop album about navigating masculinity (spesifically as someone who is nonbinary and trans) and it's amazing. Check out Flamboyant! Also their song "live by the sword" is about the over glorificafion of queer pain and personally I found that really resonated with me as some of the lyrics are definetly about the transmed movement and the need to prove your pain to be accepted. There's a really interesting video on the album by 'boyform', I think? Anyway, check out both of their albums. Beutiful queer chaos, I'm obsessed with both of their projects and seeing binding in their music video 'man to man' just hits different. Trans musicians are soooo important!
Hell yeah! Dorian remains my fav trans artist and I connected so fucking much to their first album Flamboyant! I love both albums (Flamboyant and my agenda) but flamboyant really got me hooked on their stuff. It's just so wild to see their growth and I'm so happy for them.
@@micky2708 same! Their music's really helped me accept myself. They've evolved so much, love to see it! I'm seeing them live next year which is going to be amazing😅
goooodddddddd i love dorian lmfao
Dorian Electra is so fantastic, I’m glad other people are into them as well.
Yess Flamboyant is so good!!
Ryan needs to talk louder or brennen needs to talk quiter, not sure which way round, i would just like not to have to adjust the audio constantly to hear ryan and then turn it down so im not being shouted.
Two separate mics would do the trick
Yeah the difference in volume did make it tricky to watch with headphones on
i didn't experience this while watching without headphones on my macbook, but i get it
Unrelated but I love your icon
michael yerger even went on a podcast after and said that he didn't mind, but he also was confused that she didn't use a better photo because they did have ~relations~ and the morning after they took a photo together. He also stated that he told his family and friends after, and that both him and his friends/family were totally cool with it cause trans women, are, guess what WOMEN. he's actually a solid straight man that is comfortable with himself and his sexuality, and that should be supported, not turned into a controversy for clout, and i feel bad for him although he did not seem bothered. I got all this info from Samantha Lux, another trans women who just recently put a video out on this topic. check her out!
That was definitely Harry Jowsey
That was harry jowsey
If Nikita cares at all about the trans community, she should uplift people like that guy who is comfortable in his sexuality to date trans women and be respectful of them. Instead, she turns it into a controversy as if it's a bad thing to date a transwoman. Nikita is harming the community.
pls delete your comment as it is false. it was harry jowsey
@@leixjay they could just edit it instead of deleting it, but yeah, I agree.
Noah's music is so good! Everyone should give it a shot
Agree 10000% it's sooo good, esp if you're into pop-punk
Sasha making it onto The Voice is so inspiring to me for the fact that he didn't even mention his transness. I always feel like I'll never make it anywhere in my life without it being based on the fact that I'm trans
This pod is healing my transmasc heart. A new era of transmasc youtube 💜
You guys should one of you guys commissioning trans artists!!!
Edit: also you guys need to bring Fox, Miles, and other trans people on the show it’d be so fun to build a community of reoccurring trans creators on the show!!!
This podcast brings me so much comfort as a trans masc 💛
I don't usually comment (i'm more of a lurker, and also a lot of videos i watch have way too many comments for mine to ever be seen). But I just wanted to drop by to say that I look forward to these videos every week and I appreciate the conversations you have/entertainment you produce a lot
Noah Finnce, the part in underachievers where he says "ur a growing lad">>>>
I didn’t know Ryan and Brennen had a pod together, I love this
do you think you guys could talk about T4T sometime on the future? i think itd be a good way to talk about love within the trans community and also share photography about t4t couples, writing, etc :-)
no shame for enjoying furry stuff from time to time bro. we furries love the casual enjoyer of our arts! 😃
This podcast is great, I love hearing what both of you have to say.
First trans pop star?? Smh have some respect for Wendy Carlos that clockwork orange soundtrack is a bop
Jokes aside her achievemrnts in electronuc music are fantastic and she deserves so much respect
im so glad to see the trans community come together, so thank you Ryan and Brennen for leading by example :) the me from two years ago would feel a whole lot better knowing this.
I'm so excited to get the binder! I'll be able to finally relax a little bit so thank y'all so much! Also the chaotic energy of this episode is superb
i really loved that you brought on danny to share a perspective, i think it'd be really cool if you could continue to bring more transfems on the show in the future!!!!!
the fact that the blackfishing picture of nikita is also from a jefree star campaign..
Lmao yes 😂 glad I’m not the only one who caught that.
when it comes to trans musicians, I really love Penny Parker and her band Go! Child! As for bigger musicians, I've been a huge fan of both Demi Lovato and Utada Hikaru's music for a long time now! ^-^
YESSS WE STAN MISS PENNY AND GO! CHILD!
@@emmanimate YESSSS EXCELLENT TASTE MY FRIEND!!!! :D
omg i knew penny cause my sister likes her fandubs (just yesterday we watched the sonic riders one lol) but i didn't know she had a band!! im defo gonna check it out later >w
@@Xxth3_murder5cenexX OMG I REMEMBERRR 😭😭 sometimes I forget that was her- I watched her stuff way back in the day!!
@@emmanimate i just recently started to watch the complete fandubs and they honestly feels like a fever dream lmao but i had already watched clips from when my sister first watched them like the there goes hawaii one, or the pissing on the moon one (uggh such classics 😩). tbh i just recently started to watch english youtube as a whole like maybe a year and a half ago so there's a lot of things that i missed lol
When Brennen says "Nikita Dragun" I think he's saying "Nicky the Dragon" lol
still a giant fan of LeftAtLondon tbh, also Mel Stone
Doing binder giveaways is so good! Especially since a certain transmasc influencer who was known for his giveaways turned out to not be a great person and that totally broke 15 yr old me's heart, it's good to see y'all doing one now
Powdepaint is an electropop duo were both members are non binary and they are SO good, you have to give them a listen
Yes! More people should know their stuff
YESSSS love shonalika's youtube channel too
@@chrisgrimstad9985 omg somehow I never realized shonalika was part of the duo
@@_gremlinboy that's how I found out about them :)
ive watched a few episodes, and i have to say thankful and blessed for this channel. I grew into myself as a trans person when storm ryan and kalvin came to youtube ect. I stepped back from the trans masc community about a year after seeing what was happening in terms of transmedicalism. This brings my younger self plenty of joy to see you two get along and spread positivity among the community.
i just came out to my friends, and it went really great
-Axel (He/They)
That's awesome, dude!
Congrats bud
I love this friendship :)
Other transgender/non-binary artists I’d recommend (for the playlist) would be Tami T, Dorian Electra, Steam Powered Giraffes, Jazmin Bean, and Elliot Lee.
Also…if NOAHFINNCE is on Spotify, you can add his to the playlist.
Ryan at the rave looked so cute tbh
Love Sasha. Glad you added him in here. Edit: same with Noah!
Her & Blaire are the epitome of internalised transphobia
45:18 omg im just sitting here sculpting and i see my comment was featured!! my lil heart is full
One of my favorite trans artists (that hasn't been mentioned in this episode) would have to be Cavetown.
Also, ngl, it was super flipped cool seeing my own comment in this episode.
Commenting because this show needs so many more views!!! You guys are the best!!
Noah is the perfect guest for this
omg im super early, so excited !!
Trans women have enjoyed a long history in the music industry, and an equally long history of pushing that industry forward. In the 1960s there was the legendary Jackie Shane, an openly trans Black soul singer who made waves across Canada with her hit “Any Other Way” and her unapologetic, unashamed live performances. Europe has had stars like Coccinelle and Amanda Lear, who worked as models and singers in mid-century France. More recently, artists like Anohni, Laura Jane Grace, and Katey Red have found success in genres from art pop to punk to New Orleans bounce.
i love this podcast. it’s so warming to have something to watch that is mainly trans based. it reminds me that there are others out there 😂
Reminder that you are all beautiful, smart, kind, talented, loved, valued and valid! 💙 Trans Rights are Human Rights 🏳️⚧️“If somebody likes me, I want them to like the real me, not what they think I am. And I don’t want them to carry it around inside. I want them to show me, so I can feel it, too.”
Stephen Chbosky ~The Perks of Being a Wallflower
i would love to see Fox guest on the show!!!
Laura Jane Grace is one of my fave trans musicians. I also make music but I mostly post covers of songs I enjoy
I love this podcast so much, it always makes my week! It never fails to make me laugh lol
I listen to a lot of Noah and Cavetown. I like Miles' song too, and Ryan Cassata.
No one knowing Noah is signed to a pop-punk label for a reason is actually painful lmao
Idk if I'm the first, but love you guys
Check out Steam Powered Giraffe! The lead singer Bunny started transitioning throughout her career, so you’d see her before her transition if you listen to the earlier songs. She actually became for accepting of her voice and seems more comfy singing the older songs. She made a song called ‘Transform’ and it really speaks to me. A song she made with her band is called ‘Malfunction’ and it’s also a very good song!
Peppermint and Shea Coulee both have amazing music, and I also love Imbi (they are an amazing nonbinary musician from Australia)
just gotta say, this video was really nice to watch to distract myself from my performance exam in the next few hours, so thank you for being a place to vibe to and a focus away from my solo :)
I enjoy the energy of this podcast so much. Makes me smile oh so wide!
On the topic of trans artists, I remember when I was in high school, I listened to a lot of Against Me! and Laura Jane Grace was a huge inspiration to me. I don't really know what she or the band is up to currently, but I do often find myself going back and listening to the songs that I was attached to back then. To say the least, it brings a feeling that is a step above the typical nostalgia when listening to songs you used to listen to a lot.
I will definitely be searching through these comments to find more trans musicians to support!
SORRY THIS IS SO OFF TOPIC AND OMG???? SIRIUS GIBSON WITCHS HEART PFP HELLO?? i never see ppl who like it outside of the person who introduced me to it so omg i just had to say something
@@malaiinaamorgan Holy shit and you have an Anri pfp! I love Hello Charlotte!
Yall made my day this was so sweet ro listen to.
Cant wait for the next one💜💙
hey hey, is there any plan to put the podcast on platforms like spotify? i get that that would require some adjustments to make the recording more accessible as audio only (prefacing reaction to videos to clue in audience beforehand, and in general being more descriptive in places that in videos wouldn't require additional info) but i think it'll be neat! if the plan is to keep brenemies relatively managable being in one platform on one channel only, i get that too but i hope the possibility of extending platforms reach isn't completely ruled out yet. best of luck! been enjoying the episodes on lazy weekends and it's been real great so thank you for that! ÒwÓ)b
yeah, i really like that idea as well, but i under stand if that's not the direction you want to take it.
Everyone should watch Kat Blaque's video on this! She's a black trans woman so she has a really nuanced perspective on this whole thing.
Off topic but can we talk about how gorg Danny’s make up is??! Like the brows and liner is so pretty omg
So SOPHIE obviously and also Patricia Taxxon! She makes a ton of really great music in a bunch of different styles and genres. My favorite song is Bauhaus off of her album Gelb but I also love her cover/remix of Bad Apple!! and she also does video essays on art criticism, copyright, and music theory. AND her stuff is free to use with credit on Bandcamp :) finding her and SOPHIE's stuff was like finding magic honestly
What a nice video to wake up from a nap and watch😌 love you guys!
Super excited whenever this show comes out y’all are so cool 😎
I love this lil podcast! I'm not a trans person but I always follow LGBT topics and these two are a beautiful pair and bounce off each other. I hope this gets green lit to be put on Spotify or something some day!
i literally binge listened to the four episodes and i love you guys's dynamic! one of my fave podcasts atm
Honestly I love this show so much. Makes me happy every time I see a new video
My first reaction was 'the AUDACITY of this woman'
the kiss from Noah made my day
i love this podcast !! y’all are adorable when you go off topic
I love this duo so much 🥺 It makes my heart so warm to see you working together and gives me so much hope for the community ❤️
Yayyy I look forward to your podcast every week :)
You guys are cool! My brain is empty so i dont know what else to say lmao
watching this from London 🌈
Absolutely in love with this podcast
100 gecs (Laura les) is my favorite trans musician
Yeeessssss, so excited that you're doing this!
this podcast is earth is healing itself
Cant wait to hear the story of the first time y’all met up in person
First trans pop star ?! Dana International wom the Eurovision Song Contest in 1998 ! And she had a really really good track record after . She got really famous in Europe and Russia
Blue Foster is an amazing queer musician ! their music has helped me through a lot and everyone should totally check them out !!
they’re great, I really like their new song the wizard of ahs it’s probably one of my favorites rn!!
I'm sorry I'm a bit late to the party, but thank you so much for this podcast! i can't wait for next week!
omg i’ve never been more suprised to see two ppl together omg, i’m really out the loop
Why did the entire time you were talking about the binder giveaway I thought you were talking about book binders
i love this comment section so many good music recommendations
i used to love miles like 5+ years ago and before he even came out. i dont watch his videos anymore, they kinda stopped being interesting to me i guess. but i got excited when you mentioned him
Oh my God! NOAHFINNCE you guys should try to get Miles McKenna on here as well if y'all can I would love to see him
against me! is a punk band led by an amazing trans woman! the song true trans soul rebel is
Every time she says “you should’ve been a mother, you should’ve been a wife” I tear up
CJ The X (who is also a youtube personality) has a wonderful rap album out as well as CJ Run (can only come up with trans people named CJ right now)
my fave trans artist is laura jane grace, lead singer of the punk band against me!
I love her!! she has a few songs individually that I really like too, supernatural possession is probably one of my favorites
laura is so talented
I love Danny!! Did not expect to see her on the podcast 😄
no wait hold on when's the next furry rave i need an invite-
Wasn’t Alexander Jasper-Jay the first trans pop star? /s
Mila Jam is a great artist who is also trans, her song "Faces" is so good!
the random tangents are 10/10
also wow it's so cool that nikita dragun invented trans women /s
4:55 , a car alarm went off outside my house at the same time as Ryan looked over.
again great episode guys you can rlly tell y’all work hard to make them🤍🤍🤍
Leith Ross is one of my absolute favorite song writers. Their songs just feel so fucking nostalgic and beautiful, please go listen to them
