That cruiser at 8:40 reversed back S L O W L Y and was on top of the sand with no effort. The guys are saying "watch your wheelspin" and "don't floor it" but what does he do? He floors it and digs himself in before he's even moving. It is easier for the wheels to move the loose sand that they are sitting on and dig themselves in than it is to move 2500+kg of vehicle sitting at standstill.
I am not a young man but I have to admit this is the first time I have ever seen, what we call in Canada, "mud flaps" on the front bumper of a vehicle.
The easiest and best way in the sand is to make the (tire pressure PSi) 15PSI, and the car will run easily and without damage to the engine and gearbox, in the long run.
Thanks for sharing from the other side of the earth. Love these videos, we have what we call sugar sand in Florida- similar in size to grains of sugar. Is the sand you are dealing with here similar or finer than sugar?
Not really, most of these guys don't know how to drive on sand. 12psi and a steady foot is all you need. If there's a little wave of sand infront of your tyres they're too hard.
I’m not Australian, so I don’t know that area. I believe people don’t want to air down too much because either they don’t have a compressor in their vehicle, or is it that the service station with air is a bit far when they get on tarmac. Or is it that they’re too lazy to lower down tyre pressures.
Maxtrax should probably start paying you for your videos. They probably use it in stores for advertising. " Maxtrax, if you have some of these, you never have to let your tyres down. You will struggle like hell, but at least you dont have to worry about tyre pressure." 8:00 And for severe situations the winning combo is two green ons, a pink one and two green ones again.

@@LCaddyStudios just drop some more air, but do it before you get stuck, unlike these idiots. Won't need any tracks, about 12psi and low range, 2nd or 3rd gear and you'll be sweet. Always winds me up a bit watching these vids 😆

The elusive yellow FJ cruiser to the rescue! Last resort of course!
I'd just love to see them deflate their tyres before they get stuck, I've driven on Fraser heaps of times with my patrol, 18psi all week long.

When we all know the answer is to pump your tyres up harder.

Great videos.
It’s one of their vehicles. There’s also an old pathfinder.

The group at the end was by far the best.
They are all troopers . . harried by commands from the various arm chair generals perched above under umbrella's on the dunes alongside
Speed is not a way to get out of the sandpits, reduce the tire pressure to 12/15 and use the first gear🚜 (low gear )
Tire air should be reduced to 10 psi to 12 psi and the car will come out of the sand easily
