One of the fastest ways to increase emotional control is to have your Sim knit while winding down with classical music. Knitting raises it on its own, but the music takes it next level. Bonus: children will gain emotional control, knitting skill, and motor skill all at once while knitting. Of course, the Nifty Knitting pack is required for this. They can also simultaneously play an instrument with emotion while winding down with classical. Also, when parents are going to encourage behaviors, if you pause the game, you can queue up a number of encourage interactions rather than just one, which raises the value much faster. If the child stops and restarts the action (like playing with the doctor set or working on a school project) you can queue up multiple encourage actions for each time the child restarts. Finally, children can also “play with emotion” using toys from the toybox.

Emotional control actually offers its best perk in Jungle Adventures...while you're travelling through the jungle with an emotionally controlled Sim, you are far less likely to be attacked by dangerous and poisonous insects! It's actually my favorite perk, because I love to explore the temples with it!

There is actually pretty easy way to increase conflict resolution for teens. Make them hang out with Renegades if you have Get Together pack. Renegades are an infamous club, so they usually will have bad relationship with some other sims. Then you just choose to "help to fix bad relationship" and you will have it maxed quite quickly!

You can also increase your sim's emotional control by talking to the mirror when they are sad, angry, or embarrassed. Overall, great tips!

Neat Sims get the Good Manners trait almost automatically because they will autonomously clean the dishes after every meal. Rarely do I have a Neat Sim that doesn't age up with that trait. I love using the doctor playset, especially if that Sim becomes a doctor later in life and gets the special moodlet. It's cool.

Yeah. I don’t have get to work, but I find that that’s a nice detail in the game.

  • @zephyr_mist37

In my experience the fastest way I’ve found to increase conflict resolution is take your child and parent out somewhere and have the child go up to strangers and do friendly introduction -> a mean social (I used yell at or insult) -> apologize
Then you can use the parent to encourage apologizing
You can also use the parent to discipline for being mean to balance out the empathy loss from the mean social
I’ve had trouble with the method of having a household sim build up bad relationships and then have the child use “help fix bad relationship” because sometimes it doesn’t show up and it has a cool down

  • @Cynthnote

I don't know if anyone already said this, but a bonus tip is to have the child/teen wash all the dishes after everyone, so just cancel the other sims' actions when they're about to go and wash their own dishes. Then put the plates into the other sims' inventory and place down one plate at a time for the kid to wash. This is because the kid will just go and collect all the plates and wash them all at once otherwise, which will only count as one action - I THINK. I could be wrong. So please let me know if the game counts each plate, even if they wash them all at once.

My favourite way is to max out the Parenting skill and use the chance cards. However you can be sucker-punched by these cards as they take away values as well and a chance card just as your sim is about to blow out the candles can ruin a life's work.
