This sounds like a great idea! Love that it's going to be all BG too. Please don't make all the residential lots houses for whole families, it's okay to not have a toddler/child room in every single house. It would be nice to see houses for single sims or sims that don't have kids too. Can't wait to see more.
yes exactly! idk about you guys but i usually start with a single sim. i find it so weird how my sim has 3 kids bedrooms when its just them living there alone
I’m doing this in my game rn too and it’s so fun/I get to make all the slots fit the aesthetic I want it to!! Plus I rarely build community lots so it’s so nice to try that out too!
I just got done building mine! I used it for my Not So Berry Challenge. even managed to fit a couple of community lots! (: I think a legacy challenge is a great way to spark some interest!
I just started a new Newcrest...using the two starter lots with two singles that can meet at a bar and go to the gym together. They'll meet and fall in love and get married at another venue, and then they'll move into a bigger house, and then they'll get pregnant and move into a bigger one near a park. I'm going to go through all of the life stages in a single neighborhood!
That's so cool, Mary! I usually put down some premade homes and New Crest is my spot for all the lots that the game prompts me to place, haha. For some reason, I almost always put the restaurant in the little square near the bottom
I think an interesting build would be one for a single sim or a couple/roommates who don’t have kids. Like what would a really big, expensive house built specifically for sims who focus on their careers and hobbies look like? I feel like a lot of people (not saying you do this, but sims players in general) tend to forget the parents when the kids and babies come along. It would be nice to see adults and elders get the attention they deserve.
i think it's so funny how kayla does everything to get as many sleeping spots as possible, but doesn't even care about the fact that there are only 3 chairs. 2 sims are gonna chill with their grilled cheese on the couch 😂
As a non builder, I will say I find it really enjoyable to scroll through the gallery or my library for buildings to fill up not only Newcrest but also the other two worlds as well (I only own base game don’t come for me 😂)
@JackWrath477 Well glad that your confident, and I’ll check you out, but next time phrase your self promotion in a much humble light and don’t say your better than anyone. Just let your channel do the work for you.
I think you should build all the houses in one neighborhood, then do the community lots for that neighborhood so that you know like what type of architecture/style for that neighborhood
That would be so cute, maybe like one or two out of style lots. Usually a community lot that got updated at some point. Or some random highly asethic neighbors. Makes it a bit fun and realistic.
Okay, hear me out. Remember the sandcastles we can make with normal sand from Island living? A park or pool with a sandbox for family gameplay would be amazing🥰
i think the large 50x40 park sounds so cool so maybe build that or one of the expensive houses nearby it!! love this idea, so excited to see this finished
I love building lots for Newcrest, it's a lot of fun and creative freedom. I always live in Newcrest when it's empty and develop it over time, so it's not too overwhelming. It's sooo much fun though. Library, gym, family homes, bar, parks, etc. I'm awful at parks but I love doing them anyway. 😂
It would also be really cool if you did extra lots if you did multiple extra “pack lots” like a bowling alley or movie theater or something like that :)
@@the.sapling I can just imagine, at the end of this series... "You know, places doooo go out of business sometimes and that's the perfect time for a new cool thing to take its place, so let's replace the X with a bowling alley!" :D Perfect excuse to use the debug sign for it! She could even mark the lot that will be taken over via the sign, haha. Or really, she could just decide which lot make a decent bowling alley, use the sign there as "advertisement for a bowling alley in another city", and make it a shell challenge for people to replace the lot with a bowling alley, haha
I understand the purpose of this is to do base game builds but it would be cool to do some lots that are included with other packs for options! Like a restaurant, teen hangout, elderly residential home (with knitting), bakery or retail store? I’m happy either way I just think this would be cool also :)
That terrain paint menu jumping off the screen glitch has been happening to me too lately! The only way I've found to fix it is to click on a different category in the menu to reset the menu to its usual size, then click back on terrain paint and the menu stays as it should. Excited to see you starting to build up Newcrest again! 😊 It is a mammoth of a project, that I have also attempted and started over many times.
My UI changed in CAS the other day. I was so confused when it was only showing me two outfits per column instead of five like I'm used to. What the heck?!? This had NEVER happened before!!! I had to go into game settings to fix it.
I’ve been working on a personal save file for about a month now and breaking out of my comfort zone build wise has been my fav part tbh! I started with new crest and am almost finished with it + willow creek :3
I agree that you should save a few of the affordable houses for when infants come out! That way there are homes for family gameplay with the new age :)
Kayla I’m so exited! This house is adorable. I would love to see a cute little library next maybe? But seriously I’m so glad your taking another chance to do this.
I vote that you do the big park next. I love how cute the starter home turned out! Also, you definitely should build a starter home with a nursery after the update 😊
I'm nearly finished my newcrest, i just have 2 more lots to finish!! I've been making both the lots and sims complete with relationships across households and lore, and I've been absolutely loving it and it's helped with my building skills so much
I really love this idea! I love building but I have a hard time making some that fits together but are different, so my newcrest is pretty much always empty except for like 2 or 3 house so I really love that idea of building all of it!
I built it out like in real life. I saved a couple of existing houses to my Gallery and started placing them on the empty lots. Also, in order to make the houses affordable, you have to place the families first. That way, they don’t spend their $ on the house. (It’s free $)
Building whole neighbourhood with just BG is impressive! I will definitely need to try it someday! I rebuild my Newcrest preparing it to be filled in with more townies from gallery, to use when "Growing together" comes out. It has a Retirement home, cementary, park, some museums, cafes and community lots and I just can't wait to play with it! 🙈
I would love to see the pool, the big park, or the wedding venue next. I love having pool lots and park lots because they're usually nice places to go on dates to, and parks are great places for a proposal and some nice screenshots. And also wedding venues are always nice to have since it's a nice place to have a wedding and take more screenshots.
Not me trying to fill newcrest with lots off the gallery like 2 days ago, struggling with it and then this video gets uploaded. Am I... magic? Anyway, I'm excited for this!!
I always build in Newcrest and I go crazy with building, I love making a full city or small neighborhood it's so fun. I also save prefabs of useful building I made to the gallery so I can redownload them and customise 😊 so happy to see someone else doing this
I loved your last attempt on this project over a year ago, those builds are still a staple in my game bc I suck at building. You should do the wedding venue next since Valentine’s Day is coming up
i’m so excited for this because i’m slowly building newcrest too! im struggling a lot with the community lots so im very interested to your ideas of those!! so far i’ve built a park, public pool, vacation rental and a shopping district (its a generic lot with a mod and cc so that sims can come to it). I’m thinking about building a wedding venue with a church/chapel and have it also function as a graveyard 😂 i’m really looking forward on how you’d do the wedding venue tho 👀✨
I'm planning on using Newcrest as a residential spot for my generations' save. I'm gonna put all the siblings that move out over there. It's very ambitious for my mediocre building skills 😭
Personally for me as a console player, it takes far too long to find lots on the gallery and fill up every lot so I usually just leave newcrest and never visit but I'm really excited about this! Can't wait to see the finished project, I love your plans x
I love the plan you came up with! I love Newcrest for building but I rarely put thought into the overall world so it’s always a mismatch of random, usually half finished, builds lol
If you end up creating a few families to populate newcrest, you should drop small details throughout the world, like on certain lots, to reference said families!
I'm currently building this world, I love the fact that it's an empty world because I like to keep the lots original names or at least some gentle nudge towards their original name. I currently have a bar and a block of apartments in Ridgeline Drive. I plan to also build a restaurant and club here too. In the two smaller lots in Bridge View I have two starter homes, one for a small family and one for a single sim. tbh Newcrest if my favourite world because I don't like to remove the original buildings in the other worlds which for me leave them worlds quite limited. I know that I'm gonna make an elderly complex in Llama Lagoon and possibly a wedding Venue.
hi bestie!! so excited for this, i need some new newcrest vibes ❤ esp in my brand new legacy save, my first gen just died so i’m distraught and need a new house hahaha
@Jack Wrath having to tell everyone all the time how good you are just convinces people what a failure you are. So, of course, you are ignored and even laughed at.
YESSSS!! I’m happy to see that your remaking New Crest, I have no idea what to do with it so I need some ideas. I’d love to see what you do with the park or the library 💕
I always used Newcrest just to plonk down things like spas, restaurants, etc. Like the ones the game says 'hey you have the spa pack, here's a premade spa'. Also I vote doing a rotation. House, community lot, house, etc. I think the math works for it.
i am SO EXCITED for this. i think the lounge/wedding venue or the 80k house across the street would be really fun. maybe rotate between house and community lots
This is so funny, I JUST started overhauling the base game worlds in preparation for Growing Together. This is cute & I like the idea of the wedding venue next!
I bought the sims into 2017, then I one by one bought get to work, get famous, cats & dogs, parenthood. I havent bought any packs for a while because I bought them but I could never really get into the sims, now I can't stop playing it since watching you & you inspired me to rebuild newcrest & I've done a few of your challenges too, just for fun, I am also rebuilding every world lot, so my sims world looks completely different! Thats an idea for you! One thing I hate about the sims, is how hard roofs are, like if I want a pyramid roof on a square room, it's impossible 😭
I agree with a few of the others that have commented. Save the next starter for when infants come out. I would also like to see a pool lot next and the wedding venue saved for valentines day. Whatever you decide we will happily watch :) Happy Simming
when it comes to artwork ... that's what the painting skill is for; also, you can occasionally get free posters/artwork from the event lots; and going around to gather free flowers for planting words AND builds the gardening skill -- i'm a big fan of gardening for some quick points and cheaper meals, not to mention mood-bosting snack foods
I'd like to see the pool next. I never realized that was even a lot type (bc I'm not a builder, residentials only lol) so now that I'm aware of it's presence I want to see it.
my question is in a house like this why on earth would you put three bedrooms instead of having one of those rooms be open and serve as kitchen/dining? I don't enjoy the way you always make the living space teeny tiny in your starter/budget builds.
It's wonderful to see everyone's differences in creativity, someone can see this world one way and I see it in a completely different way. I'm working on making a custom-built save.
Omg I just started a not so berry legacy today and I wanted my sim to do something on their day off, I went to newcrest and remembered it was empty and just wished I could download a completed Newcrest! You read my mind!
Great idea! My Newcrest looks WILD because I just randomly downloaded cool builds. Also might I suggest a more modern, colourful Museum. I got one for my game and it's one of my favorite lots ever.
As someone who isn't good at building and gets anxious looking at NewCrest I thank you for building lots for it lol Edit: I think it would be really cute to do the wedding venue for Valentines day
I really like having an area that is empty. It’s helped me become a better builder and it’s nice to have an area with different size lots that you can use to plop down new stuff you find on the gallery. Whenever I create a new game, I just transfer my favorite saved builds back to their original spots in Newcrest. I would honestly like to see another area with multiple lots to build in with different climates. 💚
I've always thought about how nice it would be to build up Newcrest and fill all of the lots but I am not an avid builder and while you can download lots of builds from other simmers the styles often vary greatly. I'm looking forward to seeing how Simsie styles the town and connects it all together.
First of all, I love that you're doing this! I also vote for the other starter home to be aimed at a single sim, with a skill building room instead of a kids room! And I loved the idea of you building the wedding venue for Valentine's day, if it's not to close :)
When you're completely done with this, you should fill up a Newcrest using lot types from *all* the packs. Karaoke bar, actual wedding venue, restaurant, spa--the works.
I use several lots that you made the last time you were working on Newcrest. But I also put a lot of restaurants in Newcrest. (The "pool" lot in the new idea is a gym from the old Lilsimsie Newcrest builds.)
Newcrest is one of my favorite worlds! I love building. I only play with one save, so I have A LOT of Sims to fit in. I use Newcrest as a residential world. Each neighborhood has a different style of architecture and price range. I would dearly love another Newcrest style neighborhood, but one without all of the set dressing, more like Glimmerbrook, with just roads and landscape, not surrounding buildings. That would be my dream.
i've got a full-ish newcrest that i just have saved as a game with no active gameplay yet, and then i use that when i start a new save (and save as, without any changes to the base world) so i don't have to start over every time! it's also got some townie makeovers.
One of the major things that I would absolutely adore is a new library. Like that would be a GREAT place for sims to both study and act as a place to a teen hangout! Maybe add in cats because...I dunno, it'd be cute lol
I definitely agree with where the pricey neighbourhoods are. I generally lay mine out differently and have a spa, community garden (you need to give the rich elder sims something to do) and then some pricey houses there. For some reason, I always use the back area where the starter/community bits are now for a restaurant because of the main road and how nicely it fits into the lot size and then add some homes that look like they're repurposed venues around it like it's a dying high street but everyone wants to keep the restaurant alive. I suck at starter homes so much, I wish I could stick to the starter budget when I build.
i have been downloading the ones you have been uploading over the last year and i am very satisfied with them. I usually fill the like three or four remaining lots with restaurants or other non-base game community lots like a spa. I try to do the same set up every time to the point where i wish i was smart enough to do this first and then do a save as so I can use the same save every time for new games.
you have to build the wedding venue for valentine’s day!!
Yess

When are you going to continue it? I’m trying to find part 2 but I couldn’t find it.. did you stop the series?
when it comes to artwork ... that's what the painting skill is for; also, you can occasionally get free posters/artwork from the event lots; and going around to gather free flowers for planting words AND builds the gardening skill -- i'm a big fan of gardening for some quick points and cheaper meals, not to mention mood-bosting snack foods
Newcrest ❌ … Bluecrest💙💙💙
This is such a great idea, Simsie!
I can't wait to see what you come up with for your mapped lots
I vote for doing a community lot next
You did a back yard but didn't put a back door or pathway to the back yard.... okay. lol
I love this idea and would love to see you make a wedding venue next! It would be so pretty! Also perfect since it’s almost Valentine’s Day too.
As someone who isn't good at building and gets anxious looking at NewCrest I thank you for building lots for it lol
Edit: I think it would be really cute to do the wedding venue for Valentines day
I was loving this series last year and I'm so HAPPY you started it again!! Can't wait to see the next one! ❤️
I'm much more into CAS & gameplay than building, so this is such a big help! Thank you Kayla!
I DEFINITELY think you should do the location that you feel inspired to do next, that will help with not feeling exhausted with this big project !!!
im SO excited for this series! are you going to have one overall aesthetic for the whole town?
First of all, I love that you're doing this!
I also vote for the other starter home to be aimed at a single sim, with a skill building room instead of a kids room!
And I loved the idea of you building the wedding venue for Valentine's day, if it's not to close :)
When you're completely done with this, you should fill up a Newcrest using lot types from *all* the packs. Karaoke bar, actual wedding venue, restaurant, spa--the works.
I've been doing this with different concepts since 2021 and it's SO FUN! I can't wait to see you rebuild it
I LOVE THIS IDEA! id love to see it become a series! you should definitely do the wedding venue next
I use several lots that you made the last time you were working on Newcrest. But I also put a lot of restaurants in Newcrest. (The "pool" lot in the new idea is a gym from the old Lilsimsie Newcrest builds.)
IM SO EXCITED FOR THIS SERIES
I love your restarted project, Kayla! And I would love to see the pool next!
I LOVED this series!!! So glad it's back :')
i have been downloading the ones you have been uploading over the last year and i am very satisfied with them. I usually fill the like three or four remaining lots with restaurants or other non-base game community lots like a spa. I try to do the same set up every time to the point where i wish i was smart enough to do this first and then do a save as so I can use the same save every time for new games.
I really love that you;re redoing Newcrest! I think the park could be fun next!
