I've seen that video like 2 months ago and waited with my comment until I've tested if the options actually fixed the problems. AND THEY FREAKIN' DID! This might sound familiar to you: You scroll through your footage and out of nowhere the software crashes. At first it freezes and you might think "well maybe this time it comes back and don't crash" but it crashes every time. I can't tell which option exactly fixed the problem for good I'm just using all of them. Now Vegas gets some kind of "hiccup" where the software freezes for a small period of time but I'm totally ok with that because it comes back now and my work isn't lost anymore! Thank you so much I've liked and subscribed aswell 💖!

For anyone using pro18, to get internal you cant hold shift and click preferences. You need to hold shift and click options and it'll be below preferences

I wanted to thank you here. I just came frustrated from every forum and found your tutorials. After 2 weeks of not being able to render with my new GPU, i could finally make it and a one week render at 4K DCI 4096 now gets done in just an hour and a half! Thank you very much!
Vegas should pay you. You my friend saved them a customer. I was searching for a new software after I’ve been using Vegas since v9. These tips fixed it all. I just might move now from Vegas 15 to 18.
Thanks for the vid! For Vegas 18, the internal tab is different. You need to hold down shift BEFORE clicking options. Then it will show up right under preferences in the drop-down menu as 'internal.'
I don't usually comment here on YT but a HUGE HUGE thank you for this video. It has saved me countless of hours and countless of grey hairs already. Vegas went from crashing every 10-15 min to working without a crash the whole day through. It's a huge relief and a lifesaver. Thanks again!
I watched so many videos, and none helped, until I found yours!!! It was crashing around 30%, and it was saying 6h of rendering. SUPER SLOW i did everything you said, and now it says 40m, the rendering Is way faster! 😊 THANK YOU!!!
Now that's what I call a great tutorial. No waffeling , gets straight to the point and talks in decent English that we can all understand. WELL DONE SIR !!!!
You LEGEND!!! I've been working on an important project the last couple of days and it constantly kept crashing yet it's finally rendered thanks completely to you!! You are a wonderful person and I thank you dearly!!! Subscribed and a thumbs up for you and thank you!!
I've saw tons of video, trying to improve my lagging preview on Vegas ... TON OF VIDEOS ... And you'r the only one who really improved it ! Thank you !
I can't believe this actually worked, no crashes. A couple of freezes and thought it was going to crash but it just kept working. You also have some sweet guides I'll be watching... Good job sir, Subbed
@@ScrapyardFilms Because of my one video that mostly helped with rendering crashes I've had the odd person ask me for help so I now started referring your video. My 1070 does not make much difference at all in rendering speed but a 3800X with 8 cores 16 threads seems to pick up some slack nicely... A billion subs by end of year it sounded like you said, Sony Vegas is a niche market. PS. video idea multiple time lines titled is there an easy enough way to do that like a tech site like Gamers Nexus does? If so that's a video I'd like to see, make it easier to show what the topic is or if I am showing specs of Item X still or if I went to Y or Z item.
I dont want to speak too early but I think you fixed my program lol! I've been struggling with this for so long I was beginning to think there was no use and at a last attempt found this.. no crashes and running buttery smoothe like never before! I cannot begin to tell you the hours lost to waiting for program to respond/closing and restarting/losing saves.. truly cannot thank you enough! I've got multiple videos overlapping at 50% transparency, several effects on both and transitions - this would've crashed immediately previously to this fix.. right now its running with no problems!!! I'm so excited I'm on a rant lol.. THANK YOU!
Thank you so much! I make HEAVY projects in VEGAS, and this helped me out! I had problems like it crashing when applying NewBlueFX, opening "split-screen", just cutting footage, and so much more, and I was SO close, and I mean SO close to submitting a refund, but this (to my suprise) fixed it! :D *_Thanks alot!_*
Thanks. Seems to be working so far. Drives me nuts that I had to come to RUclips to get my program to be stable. Now they already want more money for an upgrade. Unreal.
Thank you sharing this. I was heavily discouraged with how often it kept crashing which was stopping me from finishing my short films. I will try your advice because, real talk, I was set to just give up
thanks you so much made vegas something i hated to use because of crashing. To something i really enjoy using with no crashes and you explain things very well. Thanks so much keep up the vids my dude
I was ready to uninstall and get my money back until I watched this. You have a new fan and subscriber. This fixed all the crashing and freezing issues I was having. Whatever these fixes did, it activated a component that would read my mp4 files I was trying to input.
so many tutorials by others, explain things too slow or too fast... or they give too little detail or too much. you should be a model for them because your speed and clarification is just right. Thank You for that!
I was about to request a refund for my software because I was so fed up with crashes. It took 5 minutes to load my file, and I got maybe 10 minutes of editing if I was really careful. It's been a couple days now and I haven't crashed since. Sincere thanks.
This was so helpful, thank you! Very easy to follow too; I typically get frustrated with video tutorials, but everything was shown and explained so nicely in this, and my copy of Vegas is already running a lot better than before.
Works on studio 17 too. Thank you, downloaded Studio 17 last night, moving from 13. First thing I notice is preview window blacked out when previewing "Any video, any format". Didn't have this in 13. If I turned on grid, video would show. I played around with all the setting for GPU. I have a gaming rig with SLI video cards and assumed that was the issue, so I turned SLI off. Nothing, I did worked. I scoured the internet and found this video. Turned open cl to false, problem resolved. You saved me so much frustration. I was kinda bummed, the latest greatest from Sony was a fail. The preview window is everything to me. Thanks again. Subscribed.

Using since original Sound Forge days. Stuck at version 12 as it appears most stable. Still crashing sometimes. With 17 almost seems like learning a new NLE. Also, am I going to have to build a new PC. Upgrade deals? Glad I stumbled on your channel Josh.
This worked for me on Vegas Pro 15 and I can actually start using Vegas Pro again.. Preview had far to much lag and silly crashes put me off using it. ( i7, 32mb ram, nvidia 1080 ) I am now seriously considering an upgrade to VP 17.. Thank you for this tutorial 😁
15 to 17 is a HUGE upgrade. You get so many more professional features. If you legally own 15, you should be able to upgrade for around $150. If not, 17 is currently on sale for 50% off here: www.reddit.com/r/VegasPro/comments/ea8ifs/december_sale_50_off_vegas_pro_17_ends_december/
