      @kjlandon9140 4 года назад +70

      Some kids are just naturally fat for some reasons, not all
      I don’t think I was ever “obese”, but I was fat. Maybe 40-50 pounds overweight
      I didn’t change y eating or exercising habits, but I easily lost the weight in middle school which turned to ana eventually
      Happened to my cousin/other family too
      Also the people talking about it’s the moms fault- you should never force your kids eating habits. Ever. Make healthy food and if they aren’t let them. When they get older loose weight, do not heavily encourage it.
      Because that’s where EDs come from.
      You will not die from obesity quickly. You will die from anorexia and bulimia very quickly. You have to be cautious around it

      Paige Campbell they have faster metabolisms, however, just because you dont burn off calories at a rate as fast as skinny people doesnt excuse you from doing regular exercise and maintaining a healthy diet. If you go out in town, the good majority of people are overweight or not typically skinny, only some will be, meaning the majority of people dont have a fast metabolism and have to regulate their weight through diet and exercsie. Also, if youre gaining weight even when eating supposedly healthy food, you probably arent practicing portion/calorie control or are getting enough exercise.

      Never view losing weight as merely as something to feel beautiful. I believe that too many people place too much attention to that part!! First, I believe you should love yourself as is and know that there isn't anyone else like you. You are already beautiful as a child of God. From that self-love for yourself and your body comes the decision to take care of it to the best of your ability. Always keep in mind that losing weight should be seen as a health issue and only that.
      Many people who are obese come out with the argument that all sizes are healthy and simply get comfortable with all their weight. And that just isn't true and it isn't healthy as it has been proven that any extra weight can be harmful to you in the long run. You don't have to shrink down to a size 4 that is often portrayed as the “ideal size” either but always maintain a healthy body weight in proportion to your body type. You'll be much healthier and from that, comes even mental health I've heard.
      Sadly, many people don't seem to understand this argument... Best of luck.

Many people like Brianna, who have suffered with childhood obesity and have gone through a transformation like this, end up with strong eating disorders in their teenage years. THANK YOU!! To me, it is seriously disturbing that this young girl has been put in the national spotlight for losing weight. Don't get me wrong - I'm not criticizing her, but this is a HUGE amount of pressure to put on her. "The girl who lost weight" is a title that has now been put on her in front of the entire country, and I have a strong feeling that she's going to feel a lot of pressure to keep that title, and when she reaches adolescence (peak of insecurity for most), she will likely do anything it takes to stay thin. Of course this is a gigantic risk factor for developing an eating disorder. What the hell are we doing discussing the body of a prepubescent girl on national TV? What message does this send to all of the other little girls out there?! If she was experiencing a health issue, she did what she needed to to manage it, and that is between her and her doctor. But this spreads a greater message in general: fight to be thin. Being even remotely overweight = bad, undesirable, do whatever you can to get rid of it immediately. That is how it will be received by so many. I'm scared for our youth - this is not okay.

      @@katie3776 I am so with you on that!! Fat is not a bad thing, we need it to be healthy, and the idea that fat = unhealthy is a horrible myth! All of a sudden everyone becomes a doctor and they decide that it's okay to assert that only one body type can be healthy (really just bullying under the guise of concern tbh). Science has debunked that by now; being fat doesn't mean someone is unhealthy. But what is unhealthy is starving yourself, depriving your body of the basic nutrients it needs to function, literally shortening the lifespan. And it's alarming to see how widely encouraged it is. Thank you for saying that

Children get fed junk food like hot pockets, fruit juice, Lunchables, deli meat sandwiches, PB&J and chips along with huge portions at restaurants. People don't think about how orange juice has more sugar than soda or that a milkshake is as many calories as your meal should be. Her parents didn't know healthy eating and they fed their child poorly and she gained weight as a result. A child, not matter how much they play and run around, cannot escape the effects of 2,000-3,500 calories a day.

Not watching what the kids eat and how much or giving them sugary snacks or always cookies or candy to reward them for something they did right. Plus kids today don't go out and play as we did as I was growing up, It's great that she's losing the weight though, hope she keeps it up

    I'm 14 and nearly 300lbs....this doesn't motivate me this just makes me cry because I know that I don't have a mom or another parent to help me like this child got help from her mother. I'm forced to eat fried, un healthy fast food or TV dinners every single day because my mom is too lazy to cook, and there's no other healthy alternatives in the house for me to try to cook. My family is also poor so we can't afford to go grocery shopping for fruit and healthy shit every week, and we also can't afford a treadmill or even a good pair of tennis shoes. We don't live near any hiking trails and we have like 8 work out places in our towns and like 4 more in a 20 mile radius outside of our town, hit again we don't have the money. Plus I'm uncommitted, which I can't blame on my family. I just know I'm going to end up like those 600lb people on TV....

      If you're struggling to lose weight because of money. And the only option is un heathly foods, just eat less. but i doubt that tbh. You can get healthier foods for less. Eat your portion. Literally never drink premade juices and sodas. Just drink water!- and never eat after 7 .After 7 drink water if you feel thirsty or hungry. And for exercising, walk for a hour a day. And you can do at home exercises. Their easy to find on the internet...... its actually pretty easy to lose weight. You just have to mentally stable yourself first. If you keep thinking you cant do it, you wont.
