I remember watching this 5 years ago when I had my heart broken. This resonated so much with me. I've always had problem with my weight and used to gain a lot when I was sad. Last month I returned to this video after 2 months since breaking up from my four year relationship. This video is so hopeful. It really helps me through the hard times. I've seen it more than 5 times during this week. Reading the comments below, I see that I'm not the only one. Great video.
Same. Been watching this video on and off for 5 years and I still feel related everytime. Whenever I gain weight (same reason you have) I just open this video to encourage me to do workout. Things have been fine since then :)
I have used this video so many times for motivation over the years, and I can definitely say a breakup or rejection is a great motivator. That being said, the negative reinforcement works to a point. You have to start exercising because YOU want to be healthier and be a better version of yourself, not because you are a piece of shit or hate who you are. Otherwise, it will become a cycle of losing and gaining weight, with no real mental change happening. I didn’t start keeping the weight off until I went to therapy and started having a more positive view of my body and character. It’s as much a mental challenge as it is a physical one, and I think we often forget that. I wish everyone the best on their individual journeys and hope you all are able to achieve your goals. Keep pushing, my dudes!!!
Honestly, to me this video feels like a perfect blend of self-help, comedy, deep storytelling, character building, and overall inspiration. There are few videos which manage to execute such a perfect blend of these elements, even fewer that hooked me so much in the first minute. Simply one of the finest examples of storytelling encapsulated in 7 minutes.
It seems almost every time I look at a fitness video, I see someone with a My Hero Academia profile picture, and I just think, "When we all watched My Hero Academia, did we realize how out of shape we are compared to the characters and start watching fitness videos to make ourselves feel better?" lol
I watched this over six months ago when the boy I was dating broke my heart. I was over 200 pounds. Six months later, I am now 165 and the other day I accomplished my dream of enlisting in the United States Air Force. God bless.
So glad I found this comment. I have the same goal, I am down 14 pounds but I have 35 more to go. If you can do it, I know I can too! I hope all is well. ☺️
I watched this years ago while i was in a relationship, i thought it was just another sketch... 10 months ago my partner of 7 years (engaged, due to move into a house) told me he didnt love me and doesnt think he ever did.. Ive come back to this video so many times, ive tried to follow step 3 over and over again but i keep failing when i hear about/see him and i just fall back into that part when he's lying on the floor looking at his phone... But i'll never give up, it doesnt matter how many times ive failed, im not gonna stop until i feel something in my chest expand!

How to lose weight in 4 easy steps step 1: get a scale step 2: go on the scale with something heavy step 3: remove heavy item. step 4: see the weight difference
Or maybe Step 1: rely on school P.E for exercise Step 2: Pray you are meant to be skinny Step 3: Eat good food ( pizza and junk food) Step 4: Repeat Aye i followed these steps and I’m 115 pounds currently with an height of 5”4 🤦♀️👌 Don’t worry I’ll probably change in the future cuz I’m still a pre-teen 😭😭 Fat legend 🔥🔥
Rachel RUclips Ummm are u sure you’re not like under weighted lol 😂Last time I checked with the doctor they said I was 6% over fat.... I was like 5”2 back then.... 😂😂
Each 2-3 years i get something that makes me feel depressed, or sad. Returning to this video gives me some kind of hope, that the situation will get better over time. And even if you dont achieve anything special during that time, itll help you to overcome the bad stuff, not only ay exercising, but almost everything life throws at you.
Jokes on you my heart is broken and I'm still fat. Edit: damn everyone is so nice wth thank you all. For those of you who are concerned I'm fine lol l have my good and bad days and I'm holding up fine. On a more positive not l did lose a few kg's! I was 60 kg's and now I'm 57, not much but it's progress lol
@@dudeno5811 Being broken hearted isnt everything, you shouldnt let that weigh you down. There's more to life than that heart break and there are gonna be times you're gonna lose all will to live. So screw it, aim for change.
The never give up is the hard part. I hit my target weight (185 lb) then gained 2 back over the weekend. I have to struggle 5 days a week to make up for the 2 I mess up every week. It's a struggle, but I'm slowly progressing.
Actually, this was pretty deep. Normally, people aren't unhappy because they're fat, they're fat because they're unhappy. Their life is out of balance and they cope by getting a small bit of joy wherever they can (that's what obese binge eating, alcoholism, drug abuse, gaming/gambling addiction are - momentary reprieves from the fact that you're unhappy). Getting back into balance can often begin with getting back in shape because it's visible, tangible proof you can take some control back. And then you meet your Melissa. The video, I think, makes fun of the health pro-tips and gets back to the bare bones of the health issue - general wellness and fulfillment in life.
I come back to this video every once in a while for a reset… Having patience with yourself is the biggest takeaway I get from watching this. People won’t ignore you once you do the work.. Keep going and don’t let some ex/fling ruin your life.

They have a gym that is much better than Planet Fitness. I actually bought gym shorts and shoes a week ago and I told myself monday is my first day. I'm sick of being fat and depressed. Hit me up in a year and if I say in a year that I still haven't gone, scold me please.
You are lucky ... I became a empty building with the lights turned on and was waiting for somebody to actually notice me and like me for who I truly are and to don’t be fake and... yeah I became a building
I at least come here to watch that video once a year and… it blows me away everytime. I love everything about this video. the storyline, the overvoice, the acting, the music, when it‘s fast, loud and funny. the sad moments, the silent ones… the framing of the scenes and the playfulness of the whole storytelling in general. but most of all, never have I ever seen such a short video that simply shows life in all realness, with it‘s complexity in cooping with depressions… the makers deserve every single award there is for such a video. thanks a lot, it‘s a relief to watch everytime and it makes me expanding my chest for a moment.
@@user-ed2gk6kq9w you are right!!! I agree with you!!!.......i am proud of myself finding this amazing video!!!!😤👏...yay!!! Congrats to everyone who found this video, guys!!!
3 years ago, around 28 years old, i went through the worst breakup of my life and the only way i knew how to cope was to binge drink on the regular. Cocaine and alcohol became my best friends. I became extremely self destructive not caring about my friendships, relationships or well being. I lost shape, lost my will to be a productive member of society, lost money, but worst of all, I lost time which I can never get back. After watching this video a few years back, i decided that change was necessary. i joined a gym, quit drinking, focused on my own well being and mental health like my life depended on it... because it did! I'm glad to report back that ive turned a new leaf! im nearly 2 years sober, in the best shape of my life and recently started dating the woman of my dreams. To whoever is going through a bad breakup or is having issues with substance abuse (coz i know its easy to ignore your substance abuse issue but it sits in the back of your mind all the time doesn't it?): Take care of yourself first and things start falling into place. Hang in there. Life gets so much better! :-) EDIT: it didn't work out with the dream girl but that's alright alright alright :-)
Go chekc the work of coach corey wayne - if you are on your way of self improvment - his wisdom and no bulsshit aproach about relationships can be at great help to you.
In college I watched this once a day to keep me going. I lost 20 pounds. Went from a 3 to 3.5 average and met my now fiancé in the process. I come back every now and again for motivation. Keep passing on this video to those who need it.
I watched this alot every morning around 2016-2018. Not sure if they were aware but whoever made this video has helped me alot and hopefully other people too.
I watched this maybe 1 year ago and since then I've gone to lose 96 pounds. After some more emotional trauma I find myself stress eating and working out less and less but this video brought me back to my senses. Though it may seem like a comedic video to me it's what pushed me to keep going. Thank you for that.
Glad you bounced back! About 4 years ago i worked out, ate healthy and felt great. I lost 40 pounds kinda easy and was about 10-20 pounds away from my goal. Then stress happened and i fell back into all those bad eating habits and i stopped working out. I gained weight again, more than before, got depressed, gained more weight...now i am 40 pounds heavier than i was 4 years ago when i started and i hate myself for being so damn stupid -.-
I found this video in the middle of the worst year of my life, after my partner of four years cheated on me and all but shattered my self-esteem. It's now almost a decade later, and I'm sitting at my desk in the office of my new home, about to go ask my wife what she wants for dinner. I'm typing this out for any other brokenhearted young men who got this on-the-nose recommendation in their feeds: take it one day at a time. Be nice to yourself. You'll get there.
This video really saves my life. When I was a graduate student, I had a critical heartbreak. My academic performance and research results was a total mass, and even got lots of fat. After I encountered this video, I started working out everyday, just like a kind of monk mode. Every time when I lose my faith and soul, I back to this video, imaging and reshaping a better version of myself. After a couple days, I could concentrate more on myself, my research, losing bunch of weights and being more confident. At present, I realize the girl who you encountered is just a girl among a sea of crowd. Just wait in patience and life will slowly inch along. Things will enventually get better.
My gym journey literally saved my life after an earth shattering breakup. This hits very very close to home. I still come back to rewatch this every few months
I watched this 4 years ago when I was getting over the woman who broke my heart. Today ive been going to the gym for 2 years and now ive lost 30kg and have a beautiful girlfriend who shows me I deserve to be loved. This video reminds me where I started and as funny as the video is it is 100% true and if you choose to you can change your life.
Nobody talking about the storyline and the narrative, y’all did a very good job with the film honestly I was rlly into it even if it was unexpected lowkey aggressive
I just broke up with a cheating girlfryend (2 years relationship), i was so dependent of her, i am now learning how to live alone lost my mom last year and her was all i had. But a i found this video and it is so motivational that it makes me want to get my shit together, get in shape, get my self confidence back (has gone a long time ago), start a new life. wish you all the best, i know that the majority of you are here like me, trying to do our best to get our shit together again.
I relate to you so much on this my boyfriend of two years is breaking up with me today I’ve never felt so heartbroken in my life cheers to you for getting your life together and regaining confidence!
jesus its amazing how similar your story is to mine, a month ago found out my gf of almost 2 years was cheating on me, 2 days later i started to exercise again because it was literally the only thing that got my mind off of her for just a little bit and those few minutes when i could not think about her were so addicting i kept doing it till right now, my goal is to become her biggest loss by the end of the year which is just around the corner, like the video said though, time is all i need, i feel much better now than when i did a month ago. honestly though i hope you dont feel like youre alone on this (or anyone here thats also going through something like this) .... cant give up man
I watched this video more than a dozen time for the past 6 years and i wanna thank the creators for motivating me to lose weight . 327 puddle of sweats laters and i finally reached my goal .Thank you Thank you thank you
To this day the single most important video I have ever watched. If everything on youtube was this heartfelt and potentially life-changing, life would be so much easier for so many people.
I keep coming back to this video every week or so. My dad died in January and my girl cheated on me a few weeks later. At the start of our relationship I was in the best shape of my life, but she was relatively sedentary so I started gaining weight. Now that she’s gone, I’m trying to get back to where I was when we first met. I’m still in the, “you are a piece of shit,” phase, but I’m hopeful that soon something in my chest will expand again. Thank you for making this ❤️
This is so correct. I used to be a fat big guy with acne. I started training boxing and wrestling, and I really worked hard, but it seems so slow and effectless in the beginning. But you see little changes slowly, and all suddenly I was just a ripped, muscular guy, which I still am today. It goes from very very slow to SO FAST
bro, I am sure you can do it. I am not doing kickboxing but I am doing heavy weights, at first I wanted to die, but after a full month, now I am getting used to it even though some days I just want to curl myself to sleep. But dont worry bro sleep is as important as exercise so get that sleep!

Exactly why I've been coming back to it for the past 3 years. Am I overdoing it ? Maybe. But Idc

That Guy No one Knows I will never give up.👍👍
Actually, this was pretty deep.

3 years ago, around 28 years old, i went through the worst breakup of my life and the only way i knew how to cope was to binge drink on the regular. Cocaine and alcohol became my best friends. I lost shape, lost my will to be a productive member of society, lost money, but worst of all, I lost time which I can never get back.
After watching this video a few years back, i decided that change was necessary. i joined a gym, quit drinking, focused on my own well being and mental health like my life depended on it... because it did!
