I felt angry when the other girl in the gym started filming her and possibly is going to put the video or picture in to the internet. Cyberbullying is so hurtful
@@WELLINGTON20 Nobody should be taking pictures of strangers without asking for permission, it's creepy and gross, and the fact that you think that reacting negatively to do is just "being sensitive," says more about you than the so-called sensitive people, you pervert.
Yes, this is what we need to be promoting. Healthy lifestyles that don't focus on the numbers. Long as you're healthy and taking care of your body, you are good in my book.
Yeah before she did that i thought this is just a cheap self help stuff like everything they sell out there and this video does not deserve my thumbs up,but its kinda great
Maybe they are just doing it amoung themselves having fun and that's just what they do...what's with everyone they can say like pool party and just make it among themselves and chill in the pool.
And I also love the way she didn’t weigh herself but later she was seen running. Which I think represents a change in mindset, instead of doing those things to lose weight she’s doing them to become healthier.

The part when she said “ugh you’re so good I had like three donuts this morning I feel so fat” they think they are complimenting but it somehow makes you feel terrible. Everyone I know does this
This is the first "fat acceptance" video I actually find accurate and helpful. It doesn't transmit a false and harmful message that your fatness is perfect and you should forget about your diet and training. Instead it motivates you to accept your body at its current state and use the power you gain from this acceptance to further lose weight and get stronger. Feeling shame can often put you in depression and loss of motivation. You shouldn't feel ashamed. You should feel motivated to live and change. You should be happy and proud about your small achievements and get motivated by each extra gram you lose.
But what is the right way to think, because yeah you should love yourself, accept yourself for what you are currently, but what does that even mean for someone who's never been able to accept who they are. It sounds like a far fetched rainbow covered in sparkles kind of idea. What does accepting yourself even mean?
This hit me so hard tbh. This perfectly shows why body positivity is so important. When you see people who look like you being confident about their bodies, it really helps you feel better about the way that you look. Absolutely LOVED this.
body positivity guts the entire purpose of this video and scatters the guts across the floor. this video is about how you should strive to improve yourself despite the disdain of the others who don't have to try. this video is about self-actualization and loving yourself while ignoring the haters, but you should self-actualize into a form better for your health than the tub of lard, depression, and poor memory that is endimic to fatness. I could write an entire essay on this. In the same way that starvation victims tend to be predisposed towards mood swings, lethargy, and intense emotions in addition to bad ankles, backs, etc, overweight people tend to be predisposed towards depression, lethargy, and poor memory in addition to the bad ankles, backs, and etc. it's incredibly fascinating how the two states parallel each other
Yep. My brother was saying he knew he was really overweight and was going to go on a diet and my grandmother denied it and said he’s just big boned but when I ate one thing at that party I could feel her staring at me. And I know I’m really fat.
fr, one time i said no to cake and they all thought i was starving myself😐 I was, but the fact that they only said something bc i said no to cake made me mad
Isn’t the point of the gym to exercise? Everyone’s there to do it, everyone’s there to fix their bodies, don’t laugh at people if that’s what you are doing as well.
I love how she chose NOT to make herself throw up. I'm almost in tears. I remember being stressed out working retail during COVID, straight outta high school and I thought about throwing up. Not for reasons of feeling fat though. Like drugs, sometimes purging is a toxic coping mechanism of eliminating stress temporarily. It's making yourself feel temporarily like the bad memories have left your system, but they haven't and your just damaging yourself further in the end. Anxiety & the brain relate, that's why some people turn to or away from food when stressed out. I wish it didn't have to be that way... 😕
I love how it ends with her still trying to get healthy. She not only accepted herself but ,she also knows that being healthy is a lot better than having health problems In the future.
I’m glad she didn’t give up at the end. If she did... then this video just shows that giving up apparently means love yourself for the wrong reasons. It would’ve brought the wrong message if she gave up.
This is a very realistic representation of bingeing, the dissapointment u feel when u dont see results and how all aspects of self conscious feelings hit during weightloss. Congrats. This is amazing
I like how in the end she was still exercising, but not because someone told her to "lose weight" or out of self hatred. It was the perfect blend of "love yourself" while still promoting an active lifestyle. Great video, love the message.
I like how she was still exercising at the end of the video. Because it emphasizes that we should accept and love ourselves for what we are but still care about our health. It's not about "I need to look differently", it's just about "I don't want to have diabetes/heart attack/etc" so I'm glad to see a bit bigger people accepting themselves but not seeing acceptance as an excuse to stop caring about their health.
Move more, eat less. It’s not that hard. You can have that donut... just eat half and save the rest for later... and drink plenty of water, sleep, and a 30 min walk everyday will not hurt. Again, it’s not that hard. It took you 3 years to put on the weight, it will take you 3 years to take it off.
@@willaustin6453 in theory the concept is very simple, but for a lot of people it isn't easy to implement! Some (myself included) have a very unhealthy relationship with food. I know all of these things, I know what to eat and how to portion, except I generally don't think about it until I've eaten 2 huge servings of pasta and my stomach feels like it's going to burst. It takes a lot of hard work to stay on track.
Same! I lost forty pounds, and suddenly my mom decides healthy food is "too expensive", but wants to pay $50 a night to get fast food? Not to mention, wants to call me "picky" because I say not to put butter or oil on my food.
Im all about self love and everyone is great. You are great! But if your HEALTH is being effected by your weight, then you need to lose some of it to be healthy. That's all im saying. You can be healthy and not be skinny too. And people can be skinny yet have health problems. :) love yourself! Just not unhealthy you.
This is part of the reason obesity is such a problem. Anytime an overweight person tries to do anything to fix their problem people attack them and eventually they have no motivation to diet or work out anymore and they never fix the problem
If you quit being healthy because someone called you fat you are not only weak but you didnt really want to lose weight in the first place. Also slow metabolism isnt an excuse.
Colton Bradley I hope you realize how ignorant you sound. It's people like you that put obese people down in the first place isn't it?? These people get made fun of and put down for simply trying to change their lifestyle. They're clearly upset with their body.
I started to cry when she weighted herself on the scale and looked frustrated because that reminds me of myself for not loving my body and letting negativity always get to me this really made me reflect on myself and it also made me realize how hard I’ve been on myself
Exactly, I can respect anyone who steps foot inside a gym. It takes someone strong to go out and work on themselves. People would rather sit on the couch and watch tv.
I never understand why would anyone would judge a heavy person doing exercise (in gym or outside). At least they are doing something to try to improve themselves. Whenever I see someone unfit (scrawny or big size) exercising, they always remind me that I should never give up trying doing anything tough.
Galen TZR I don't get it either, my mom who is overweight started going to the gym with me and the way people look at her disgusts me, I'm so proud of her for making a change
To everyone trying to lose weight, please do it the healthy way. Make sure you eat 3 meals a day, just eat better things. And go for walks! Losing weight should be something that makes you feel good, not something that hurts you
People need to understand that fat shaming DOESNT HELP. When people are trying to lose weight they’re already trying their hardest, making them ashamed may only drive them to crave food as a crutch. If you need to lose weight, or if you know someone who’s health is being jeopardized by their weight, then help them in their journey. Be their support and let them be their selves, beautiful yet healthy.

@@tommuggeridge5659 People say beautiful not healthy. People need to know what is healthy but there's nothing wrong with saying someone is beautiful. Also constant degradation can lead to slumps and many people who are obese tend to deal with sadness or stress by eating more
“I’m gonna eat healthier, but I’m going to enjoy pizza and ice cream every now and then, because I want to be healthy for the rest of my life, not for a month.”
@Salad Floof I had a friend who at one point was a bit overweight, and then later on developed anorexia. It got so bad that she had to go to the hospital... After she came out of the hospital, her parents took her to a dietician to help give her some guidelines on what she can eat to help keep her healthy. This dietician told her that yes, it is important to eat healthy most of the time, but that you are allowed to have cheat days and that she in fact recommends cheat days! Like @Mackenzie Cameron said in the comments, too much restriction makes people miserable and can lead to eating disorders, so by treating yourself to some ice cream or pizza every now and then is actually amazing for your mental health!
i like that at the end of the video, she still continued to work out. not for other people, but for herself. accepting ourselves doesn’t mean we should just sit around and do nothing. it’s to accept our bodies but at the same time improve ourselves to live a better and happier life. people are always going to judge you no matter what, but in the end it’s up to what you really want for yourself. do what you think is best for you. believe in yourself.
*YES.* This reminds me of how I finally learned to accept my body and now I work out to stay healthy and strong, not to lose weight. I also love how she was inspired by the confidence of another plus sized girl and they looked *great* in their bathing suits :)
cypher i agree 100% i feel like everyone just shouldnt worry so much about what people think about them they should just continue to improve them selfs
I was so worried that I would see a bunch of negative comments but I was so happy to see some smart people as well ❤️ If you want to improve yourself do it for the right reasons
It is so irritating when people make fun of large people working out. I don’t understand how you shame someone for being big and then make fun of them for trying to lose weight. Lovely, beautiful, perfect people be you, you are amazing, and do everything for yourself; because what anyone says doesn’t matter. Be you.
TyTy Lewis They did this for the video. In real life noone tries to take a picture or video of someone working out, or yell fat a** out their car driving by.
True, that was when I really fell in love with this video because I nearly killed myself with anorexia and I hate seeing other people make the same mistakes so it felt so good to see her not go down that path.
i love the fact that she still kept trying to improve herself..loving yourself doesn’t necessarily mean just settling down the way you are..it also means improving yourself and reminding yourself that you’re not perfect.. instead of improving for others, trying to improve for yourself feels alot better💜

What impresses me is that after that first girl went into the pool, really embracing her beautiful curves, the main character felt encouraged to do the same. This demonstrates the positive impact we can have on others by feeling comfortable in our own skin no matter what.
when her friend said “ ugh youre so good, I had like 3 donuts and feel so fat “, I felt really bad for the girl eating the salad. A comment like that seems to be comforting but will only make you feel worse 😔
i never say things like that to people. because i know something as small as that can be damaging. i don’t even use the word fat because it’s derogatory.
That happens to me sometimes when I’m with my skinny friends and whenever anyone mentions weight it makes me really uncomfortable because I’m really insecure about my body :(
Ruth Davis Very inspirational, thank you. However, it is harder than you think. Not mad, just stating that when you’re self conscious, it’s so hard to do stuff for yourself when all you think about is what others think. Even your friends can make you feel horrible when they don’t mean to, and are just saying something lighthearted. I do appreciate that you are trying to help though, you’re a good person.
Sounds great! Until you think about it and find out that's the one of the most BS PC thing someone might say. Not only do we live in a society, with people, which means that a lot of stuff we do is definitely not for ourselves (I would go to work in underwear if it weren't for my colleagues). But also, besides health, I don't think there is a real reason someone would want to lose weight which doesn't involve others. I'm still curious about it

@@bluesoul1260 I'm sorry but this seems very... odd for me in a sense. Don't get me wrong, I'm in the same situation as you: I'm trying to lose weight and get fit because I love tight clothes; my family and friends think that's ridiculous because I already look good to them; and technically, I'm still healthy. However, the more I thought about it, the more I found out that I'm doing it for others. I can still wear tight clothes without being thin and fit, and yes, I'd prefer to look fitter in the mirror, but I don't spend my life in front of a mirror. Actually, I only look into a mirror in the morning and before going to bed. Basically, I'm losing weight to achieve what I think other people would find "hot", and if I were to spend the rest of my day alone in a deserted island, I wouldn't care how I look like. More real: now that my country is in a lockdown because of COVID-19 and I don't have to see anyone except the people I live with, I don't care at all about how I look, because I know nobody else can see it. Maybe you're right, but I always found the whole "I want to look good for myself" a bit off... somehow hypocritical, or even (sorry to offend) quite narcissistic. Why would someone care about their appearance in the mirror? How much time do they spend in front of a mirror? It just seems too weird...
Easy. Nowdays, gyms are not a place to work out, they are a place to show off.Instagram models visit gyms regulary just to post pictures of themselves in the gym. They are proud of their beautiful face, of their beautiful bodies. A gym is for them a place to show others how beautiful you are, gyms are not a place to work out. They body shame her, because in their opinion(not in mine), she doesn't have a "right" to show off. The same if I post now a picture without make up, or wearing modest clothes. In their opinion, I have no reason to be proud of myself, no reason to post.
It's stupid but it happens, if you want to avoid being bullied at the gym for your weight; you either have to make sure you're at a good gym with regular members who are just nice people or you need to find a personal tra
people don’t understand how hard it is to just “lose weight”. the amount of discrimination plus size people go through is absurd, this generation had come to be more accepting to plus size women and men now.
It's especially hard to "just lose weight"with all the toxic fitness culture. I used to be extremely restrictive and exercise a lot, I didn't keep it up. I developed skewered relationships with food and became even heavier long-term. Our bodies go into starvation mode when we try too hard to lose weight especially when it involves unrealistic habits.
No real friends will care if you are healthy and look great if your friends let walk out of your house looking like a homeless person they aren't real friends.
real friends will tell you some tips on how to lose weight and probably do it with you. also, they will encourage you to keep going and to never give up.
People go to the gym to progress . Don't make fun of the overweight people going to the gym because they are try their hardest. And that jut discourages them. Please stop. We need to learn to mind our business & turn our weakness into our strong ness
This is actually such a good message: Never stop loving yourself, and even if you know you could lose some weight or become healthier you are still beautiful. If it's unhealthy just remember, you can always push yourself to become healthier but you are still gorgeous and made like that for a reason.
jane izzy well, fatness can go to far people have died just for that dosen't means to eat junk food everyday you also need to eat other types of food but I liked what you said love yourself
Taalyah Szaloy I understand what your saying and appreciate, but you should hate on anyone. Saying that you shouldn't hate on someone who is trying, leaves it open to hate on someone we assume is not trying. No hate , it is just my thoughts.
This only happens on movies and videos like this. People at the gym are some of the most friendlier people you'll meet throughout the day. It's only our subconscious mind that makes us feel strangers are always eyeing is when they have their own workout to worry about.

As someone currently “struggling with her weight,” this hit me really hard. I put that in quotes because it’s not my weight that I’m struggling with- it’s my own self image. I typed that same phrase into the search bar once… As this point in my life and in my mind, I couldn’t have clicked on this video at a more perfect time. A lot of women need to hear the message presented here. Thanks.
That was amazing. She finally got to do something out of her comfort zone, because she knew she wasn't alone, and that others go through the same thing. She is finally doing it for herself, truthfully.
You know, I really don’t get why people make fun of obese people at the gym or on social media when their trying to lose weight or become healthier. We should be encouraging them because their the ones actually doing something to make their lives better! I’m super envious of people that have the motivation to change their lives all on their own like that. Some people just don’t have the willpower or motivation, so when I see someone who’s really trying to change their life even in that moment, it makes me super happy and proud of them.
This made me so emotional considering the fact that I constantly look at my body on the mirror and just look at myself disgustingly. I have always been told that I am not that big but I still have those insecurities deep within me. I still feel that way but I am trying to regain confidence and change the way I eat and exercise not because of what disrespectful people think of my appearance but because I want to change the way I live my life and become more healthier.
Baby Girl I never said I sat on the couch and just ate chips. It's just the way I eat. I'm in college doing great and eating pretty well but there are times when I stress eat or when I just don't feel full. I may even have a eating disorder that I don't know about but even if I don't have one it's people who make comments like this that have some people insecure about their weight. Assuming that they are just lazy and eat just to eat.
I've started to work out lately, and have been feeling awful since I don't see results yet. I loved this vid. Sometimes I even forget to just enjoy doing stuff instead of thinking about how I look while doing it. I think I'm too self-conscious. This really made me feel better❤️
When an obese person realizes how unhealthy they are and try to get healthy without trying to play victim I have the upmost encouraging respect for them. I hate to encourage obesity cause that can lead to really bad heart/organ issues. I loved that she tried!! ❤️
At least you're positive about it. Some people on here are just like 'yeah remind them they're gonna die that'll motivate them lol' like that is any more useful. People are such idiots.
Being fat isn't a joke ! It makes people mentally very depressed, even I'm a sufferer of these and i can feel the pain. People should not make fun of it... about our body!😢☹️😞
Preach girl! Nobody should make fun of anyone’s body, no matter your size, race, height, or any other factors. You are beautiful just the way you are 😊💕
When she got in the pool, I started crying omg. This year I finally have the confidence to wear a two-piece that shows my stomach! It may be high wasted bottoms but still shows a lot of skin! And it's coming tomorrow so this just gave me more confidence! :)
Ooooooh I feel you girl. I’m chubby and I’ve always been self conscious about my body but I was able to swim in bikini for the first time last month and that was in front of my crush. Lmao it felt great. On the beginning I was nervous but then noticed nobody really cared so I just did what I wanted. Felt no shame for the first time.
Trying to loose weight is no joke. It was the hardest accomplishment in my life. Having the will power to stay away from the junk in my cabinets is so challenging. My family won’t stop buying it. But it’s not their fault. They don’t have to live for me. Its my job to live for myself. What do I do? I go for a walk. And keep my mind off it. And once I got to my goal weight, I felt so happy with myself. I feel more confident than ever. You only live once. So live your happiest life. Don’t ever give up on anything. I went from being almost 300 lbs consistently feeling weak and out of breath to now 144lbs. And I couldn’t feel any better about myself.
While I am concerned about the growing levels of obesity, I've never understood why you'd bash someone who's trying to lose weight and/or be healthy. That makes no sense. Encourage them. Offer to help them at the gym or go on runs with them as support, that is, if you know them or they're comfortable with you. But don't just tear them down. They're trying. My God.
Leslie Seymour Absolutely. I do NOT support people that think you can be obese and healthy, but if that person is trying, you should absolutely cheer them on. That goes for any positive change they're trying to make. It goes the opposite way too though. You do not give someone negative reinforcement by telling an obese person "You don't need to lose weight!" or "You can be healthy and obese!" That's objectively wrong and you are helping that person hurt themselves.
Honestly please don't cheer at random fat people at the gym. Just leave them alone and mind your own business. Maybe if you see someone making fun of them speak up for them but apart from that... Please don't make it weird alright
Leslie Seymour the things is they say that because the person is still fat and as they are and to them as ignorant can be they may not care about the process just the fact they are still big is what matters to them
I feel her pain. I've tried every thing to lose weight and I can't. I'm 5'5" and weigh 260 pounds. People don't understand how hard it is when you've been heavy all your life and can't do it. Making fun of me isn't going to help the pounds drop.
All you have to do is change your diet. You don’t have to exercise, in fact exercising makes you more fat. When you’re trying to lose weight and exercise it makes you more hungry & in turn you decide to treat yourself afterwards. @@streamerssaymyname I said it promotes it, also there's a difference between a diet you have to follow for a medical reason and a regular weight loss diet, and even following strict medical diets doctors make sure you're getting all your nutrients. I agree with you, I think an unhealthy relationship with food is a problem, which is exactly what I'm saying here, the belief that you need to eat only salads, starve yourself to lose weight or that healthy food is disgusting doesn't do anyone a favor, it creates that unhealthy mentality you're talking about.
Heather the thing about those shakes is that they are deliberately formulated to be nutritionally balanced, which a plain garden salad is not. Did you know it is possible for somebody who is overweight to suffer from malnourishment? The pre surgery 500kcal a day thing is to shrink the liver and is meant to be *temporary*. If you eat that little for longer than recommended you not only send your body into starvation mode, it also makes you more likely to eventually overeat when your body can no longer cope, causing excessive guilt, more restriction and sends you into a really unhealthy binge/restrict cycle.
I have a problem with fat shaming in general, it's never ok, but fat shaming when someone's at the gym working out? Like that person is obviously trying to change their body, get in shape, be healthy or whatever, so why shame them for trying???

So inspirational !
body positivity guts the entire purpose of this video and scatters the guts across the floor. this video is about how you should strive to improve yourself despite the disdain of the others who don't have to try. this video is about self-actualization and loving yourself while ignoring the haters, but you should self-actualize into a form better for your health than the tub of lard, depression, and poor memory that is endimic to fatness.

Sounds great! Until you think about it and find out that's the one of the most BS PC thing someone might say. Not only do we live in a society, with people, which means that a lot of stuff we do is definitely not for ourselves (I would go to work in underwear if it weren't for my colleagues).
I don’t understand fat shaming at the gym? Horrible.
Losing weight for yourself and not for other people ☺️ this was so inspiring thank you!
This is actually such a good message: Never stop loving yourself, and even if you know you could lose some weight or become healthier you are still beautiful. If it's unhealthy just remember, you can always push yourself to become healthier but you are still gorgeous and made like that for a reason.

As someone currently “struggling with her weight,” this hit me really hard. I put that in quotes because it’s not my weight that I’m struggling with- it’s my own self image.

So do it. Don't just sit on the couch and eat chips
Meme Kween Thank you! 😊
Just Sayin But would it be better to say you are big?

It depends. I'm trying to be healthier myself. And sometimes when I feel defeated having someone cheer me on gives me motivation to keep going
deadlyNightshade789 Yeah, I was mostly referring to people you're already acquainted with.
I know it’s hard, my sister has been overweight her whole life too and she finally making a change at 22 all she did was just eat healthier and there is a noticeable difference so far.

Eating just a salad is very far from being healthy tho...
@@streamerssaymyname exactly it's PART of if, it shouldn't be the only thing you eat for a meal
@@streamerssaymyname sure as long as you're still eating a proper amount of calories and all of your nutrients. I just have a problem with them showing it as a normal thing to be at work eating just that (normally you only get time to eat once for lunch), especially considering she's also being very active...it's very unhealthy and borderline promoting anorexia and when I was overweight as a teenager I remember trying to copy stuff like this and almost fainting at school many times feeling like a failure for not being able to eat like that...it's just unrealistic.
It’s so sad that one hate comment out of several encouraging ones can completely flip someone’s mood upside down.
I have a problem with fat shaming in general, it's never ok, but fat shaming when someone's at the gym working out? Like that person is obviously trying to change their body, get in shape, be healthy or whatever, so why shame them for trying???
