"Never say "I'll start tomorrow"." I love and agree with this, don't start tomorrow, start right now and if you don't want to start right now you weren't going to start tomorrow anyway.
I'm following a strict diet I thought would be impossible, turns out it's just the start that's hard. It's like your body is throwing a tantrum and once it noticed that you are not going to fall for that, gives up and let's you do whatever you want
@@ChicoCreeper Absolutely! The first 2 weeks are the hardest, you'll feel very hungry in those 2 weeks but your body adapts very quickly and before the 2 weeks are even over your body is accustomed to the new amount of food you're having.
I've gained about 40 lbs thanks to.a new medication. I'm looking to lose weight without skipping meals. I'm building arm muscle so I can lose calories from muscle tears being repaired.
Unironically, you want to get to a place of "I'm not the kind of person who eats chips". Then healthy eating is just your whole personality and it's not a big deal.
As a healthy person who has that exact thought ("I'm healthier than everyone else. I'm not eating the chips or the dessert."), it felt like he was talking directly to me. 😅 Other people think that too?!! It was hard initially to resist eating the dessert at places because people would sometimes ask, "Don't you want some dessert?" Now everyone knows me as the healthy guy (and I think they've been encouraged by my example and are eating healthier, too!).
There have been more times than I can count where I have asked to see the nutrition labels of what my friends are eating/drinking, before silently sliding it back. I wouldn’t consider it to be the same, but it’s definitely in a similar headspace.
This was me for so many years. I didn't even weigh myself because muscles weigh more than fat so what's the point. Of course I gained about 40 pounds over the years, and it wasn't muscle! :-) It's actually a miracle it was only 40 pounds. Now my problem is that I think - "I'll just not eat later". But that never works.
Me personally, I started losing the most weight after reading the book Woman’s weight loss secrets: the unspoken truth, a few things you are mentioning in this video are also in the book
@@khadijaiftikhar888 I recommend reading it yourself, reading is incredibly useful for your communication skills and for growing your vocabulary + getting all the tips on the book.
One of the best decisions I made was to eat an apple every day at 9pm. 9pm is when i get hungry, and the time I find myself snacking the most. By forcing myself to eat an apple at that time, the number of calories I cut down on was a huge amount. My original intention wasnt even to replace my snacking with apples, it was just to eat an apple before snacking. By doing that, I naturally started eating less snacks and started craving apples more. Edit: to clarify, initially, eating apples helped reduce the number of snacks I was eating because I was feeling physically full sooner and thus I stopped snacking sooner. Eventually, apples (almost) completely replaced my nighttime snacking, and most of my snacks in general. Also note that you can eat an apple whenever you normally snack, not just 9pm. 9pm is just usually when I snack the most. If 3pm is when you get hungry, eat an apple at 3pm! Edit 2: There is some debate in the replies about the "healthiness" of eating apples, since they are high in sugar. Apples are high in fiber and will help you stop eating sooner. The fiber also aids in digestion, preventing sugar from being absorbed too quickly. If you are still unsure if an apple is a good snack, you should compare it to whatever you would normally eat. 1 apple is probably healthier than a bag of chips, and has less than half as many calories as a serving of oreos. Its also very easy to overeat chips or cookies, but more difficult to overeat apples. Yes, there are healthier snacks than fruit. But if we are being honest, nobody wants to eat broccoli and plain celery sticks as our go to snack. At least apples are a desirable food to eat, and help me stick to a somewhat healthier diet. God knows I would quit eating celery within a day. If i am being doubly honest, i still sometimes eat unhealthy snacks from time to time, but that is okay. Switching from 3 cookies per day to 3 cookies per week is still a positive improvement.
Apples are big, so they fill your stomach easily. This can be applied to many fruits such as mangoes, bananas, oranges, you name it. I learned this is actually a technique used by nutriologists to make their patients eat less.

I don't recommend intermitted fasting at all though, it just made me loose energy and eat for too much good during the hours where I didn't fast. Like I just couldn't stop eating. It's also just not maintainable. You wanna stay skinny for more than just a couple months don't you?
@@vogeline_ it really depends on the person, some people cant maintian it while for others it suits their lifestyle perfectly. maybe you were fasting too long or maybe you used the wrong time frame for u, or maybe if is just not good for u 🤷♀ that doesnt necessarily mean itll not work for others
@@__________________________971 well you kinda just proved my point here. You can't do intermittent fasting forever. And after you stop doing intermittent fasting your metabolism is f***ked. It's just not good in the long term
@vogeline_ meanwhile I've been intermittent fasting for 8 years and it's kept my weight perfectly fine. Eventually your body adapts to your meals times so the energy loss and feeling of hunger outside your fast goes away. Once it becomes your body's new normal then it's something that's easy to just keep doing forever.
As someone who has overcome a harsh eating disorder, I wouldn't recommend completely cutting out foods you love, even if they're considered "unhealthy." Instead, try dedicating 80% of your meal to wholesome, nutritious foods, and save 20% for treats you enjoy. Balance will prevent the stress, tension and food obsession that strict dieting causes. Also, drastic calorie cuts will only stress your body, leading it to try and regain what it's losing. You can't fool it :))
So true! I was looking to see if anyone was going to say something about his fixation on foods being “healthy”, not trying to imply anything about him but that the message could be taken to the extreme in peoples’ minds bc food restriction is a slippery slope
It’s not bad to eat cake or ice cream etc on occasion. But a lot of unhealthy foods are addictive. Like the junk food companies create them that way on purpose (excitotoxins is a rabbit hole). Sugar in and of itself is also addictive. If you can transition to healthier foods, you may find that your sugar cravings will lessen and some things become too sweet for your taste. And I think many people think eating healthy means salads and kale chips, but for me it’s steak and potatoes, pasta, stir fry etc. made from scratch will real ingredients. Skip sodas etc and eat your fresh baked brownies all you want. You won’t even gain weight
Agreed. My ability to stick to a diet drastically improved when I switched from "ok I'll swap a slice of cheesecake for overnight oats" to "ok ill swap a giant slice of cheesecake for a really small slice of cheesecake".
@@Eclyptical Been doing this exact thing! It really does work wonders. Every food/drink in moderation is healthy, whether that be a soda a week or small dessert portions over bigger ones. This has helped me so much, and I've lost 10 pounds in 2 months bc of it.
Stopping calorie counting is how I ultimately lost 75 pounds. I focused on getting the nutrients/macros I needed and upping my water intake and stopped eating so many processed foods. The weight came off with much less effort than expected. I also felt less brain fog and more motivation
@@equzia7524 I agree, but I'm shredded at 6-8% body fat the whole year and never counted calories in my life. I know what to eat, the food in Italy is great, I train bodyweight and I'm also a cyclist. A healthy diet and quality sleep are key. Of course, if you have no idea what you are doing and you are used to eating trash and want to lose weight, you are better off counting calories and macros. This video was uncanny. I've been "trying" to lose weight for years, which mostly consisted of making excuses, buying things and not really changing my lifestyle. After years of trial and error, in the past 6 months I've independently learned exactly the same things as shown in this vid and thats the only thing that has finally started to work. Break the cycle. Make it easy for yourself to form healthy habits. Throw out the junk food. Keep berries and chicken in stock. Get way, wayyy more sleep and most importantly, pay attention to the calories. I never wanted to count calories and i stubbornly resisted doing it for years out of desperation to avoid attaching guilt or shame to food... but honestly, just do it, it works. Instead of being sad about how many calories are in a sandwich you can be thrilled at how few calories are in fruit. Find wins, make them convenient. Be consistent more often than not. Don't sabotage yourself when you slip. Just keep going.
I started fat loss when I got diabetes. Diabetes damages all organs in body so there wasn't really an option except to loose fat . So right now I am loose fat at the speed of 100 grams per day
This has done more advice for me than any other weight loss video I’ve seen. I’m a 19 year old woman who’s 5’10 and 234, I’m tired of being fat. I used to be with “body positivity” but it’s taken a toll on me. I’ll try intermediate fasting, wish me luck guys 💓👍🏾

I personally always struggled with two things. Not eating the right foods, and not moving around enough. Especially with the profession I'm getting into, there's not much I can do that allows me to move around. For the past year I've been eating nothing but protein, vegetable, and the carbs that are good to eat. I stirred away from fast food and all that crazy processed crap we rely so heavily on. I've always been averaging 1-2 hikes per week. Never felt better. Sleep slightly improved but could do better. The only person you can blame is yourself. Great video!

Hey, thank you a lot for the effort and time you spent for this video. I’m glad this video is not just: Track every kcals you touch because that can get dangerous really quick. For everyone reading this, please take care of your self. Losing weight can HARM your body if you overdo it. If you start being worried or scared about kcals it’s about to get unhealthy. I know that sounds dramatic but for me it started with overeating one meal, skipping the next one, binge eating and this circle even got me to puke on purpose. So please…losing weight is not just black and white. If you are slightly worried about your habits speak with someone about it. Making progress takes time…so be patient, you can do it 🫶🏻
This was inspirational! Thank you! I sort of knew these things, but it’s important to have it summarized. And everybody else is trying to sell you a plan here on RUclips.
one thing about a diet is that you kind of need to do it forever. part of longevity is allowing yourself the things you enjoy + things that help you meet your goals. ie: a peanut butter and jelly sandwich and a boiled egg for breakfast. or: an actual serving of reese’s puffs, skim milk, and a low calorie greek yogurt. or: two oreos + an apple. by adding foods you can diet for longer. something to consider!
@@vogeline_he even said that you are allowed to eat processed and high calorie foods. He said to just replace some of the bad food with good food instead. And yes, anyone who manages to stay in a calorie deficit will keep the weight off purely through the power of math lol
Just buy smaller plates. Easy trick because it literally limits what you can eat and eat when you feel hungry and not bored. Very important to tell this feelings apart. Ask yourself why you are hungry, is it because you haven't eaten the whole day or you have nothing else to do
@@Samrtfirdeg This also feeds into the reasons listed for snacking. Thirst and hunger send the same signal to the brain, which is why drinking water first is the best option before turning to food. What people tend to think of as thirst is actually the start of dehydration.
@@rhyscooper3693yeah, and eating 1400 calories of nutella, or 1400 calories of whole foods each day will technically have the same effect on weight loss. There's obviously more to it though

Me nodding my head to everything being said and periodically yelling out "that's right" while simultaneously eating a bag of white cheddar snacks and telling myself, "I will definitely start tomorrow".
You’re not really asking BUT I’ve avoided eating disorders by not worrying about how much I eat and just focusing more on the what. I still give myself fun snacks and treats but I just try to be mindful about when and how much and for meals I focus on proteins fruits and veggies.
Just think about being healthy and don’t focus on the weight aspect. I stopped eating junk food and focused on fruits and yogurts and water and healthy meats and vegetables. I lost weight as a side effect. But I feel happy being healthy.
Have other things in your life that bring you joy, it is easier to fall back into obsession if it is the only thing you are focusing on. Find reward in the exercise itself, not the goals. For example I love how exercising makes me feel more awake and alert. I love feeling like I achieved something. Focus on consistency, not intensity or numbers. A lot of the tips in this video are better for ppl without a history of EDs, I would highly recommend not weighing yourself daily. I am just one person, if ur able to see a dietitian that would be the most helpful, or even look up tips online, there are tonnes for ppl recovering from an ED :)
What the first reply said. Counting calories made me stressed out, it got better the moment i focused on eating healthy and balanced and *listening to my body*. It's not the calories that matter but *what and how much your body needs*
@@Tpbraut i have a technique that may backfire. To motivate me to do consistent cold baths (3 years) and morning cold baths (1 year) everyday, i just said that if i stop no matter what i say i am a pussy and weak. So pretty much, you have to either succeed at your goal, or admit to yourself that you are weak willed.
I am a firm believer in the baby steps approach. Start with one small change so you won't feel overwhelmed. Once, that step becomes easy/a habit, add another one. First change I made was going from crappy bread with margarine and jam to a high quality 72 hour fermented sourdough bread with raw almond butter. This is what I am willing to do for breakfast that I know I can do forever (no other breakfast option works for me). Next step was right after breakfast, go up and down the stairs in my house for 10 min (this got my heart pumping just enough for a beginner exerciser). I will continue to keep adding small changes. Good luck to everybody 🤗
This is by far, the BEST NO BS video I've seen about weight loss. I've seen hundreds and them and found a lot of them don't really point out the root problems that are discussed instead in this video. Thanks!
The way I do is this, my profession, my family and my life depends on my health. If I'm fat, out of shape, tired, unconditioned ect I WILL COST people or my life. I have been at that spot of gaining and loosing and gaining ect. This man is correct, be disciplined, make it easy to make good choices not the other way around. YOU HAVE TO BATTLE EVERYDAY. You got this.
his step 6, habit making was the most important one for me. one thing that helped was writing down my exercise routine and improving them by one rep ever week and then after every 5 rep increase i would increase weight by 5-10 pounds depending on muscle and restart the rep increase. turned working out into like weekly goals with actual results into a game of progress. i work out about 1.5 hours a session, 5 sessions a week, massive changes since i started that.
The single most motivating for me is doing it with friends. I've been going to the gym for the last 8 months and I've been cutting for the last 4, and the biggest reason I've lasted this long is because I've been goifn and goofing off with friends and we've been keeping tabs and sharing eachother's successes during the cutting/bulking (depending on who). Another motivating factor is just watching at myself in the mirror and actually seeing the progress. Keeping pictures and comparing them every once in a while feels incredible
If I may, I would also like to give another recommend: take up an active hobby. Ever since I started bouldering and taking up circus lessons, my strength has immensely improved, and though I have yet to lose a lot of weight (I think I need to adjust my diet choices for that), I have felt more healthy and powerful than I have ever before :)
@@Neobot21 It's classes of a circus school :) Can be any discipline really, but I took general circus training, which teaches the basics of all kinds of a disciplines (think about things like partner acrobatics, aerial, balancing, juggling etc.) Can definitely recommend it!
This is the best advice for the exercise side of the equation! An actual active *hobby* makes achieving the true lifestyle change for weight maintenance feasible. And it shifts focus to what matters: health and fitness. From my own experience, it can help avoid the weight obsession or disordered eating that might come from only focusing on reducing your calories to reduce that scale number. When I started bouldering and doing some climbing specific strength training at the gym I didn't lose weight for months, because I was gaining muscle as fast as I was losing fat. Doing my first pull-up was such a great milestone for both strength and weight goals. Losing more weight came later, and it's so much easier when you have a true specific, functional motivation like "I want to be better at bouldering!" than something more egoistic like "I want to look better" or vague like "I want to be healthier." I force some cardio for health reasons, but if that was all I had I'd have given up on it years ago. Habits are good, but I never found that motivating enough. Bouldering is my choice, and I favor bodyweight training and sport in general. Bouldering also works for all body types and most fitness levels, there's always easy problems and friendly folks at every gym I've visited at all skill levels. If you don't like traditional gyms (I hate them) and want to be stronger, it's my go-to recommendation.
@@cyclic_infinity this. Outside of your awesome love for bouldering, I also really agree with the "goals"-part, for me my motivation became something like "I want to be able to do some of those acrobatic movements and aerial acrobatics in circus eventually" (I have yet to achieve much of that, but I feel like I'm on the way), and having a concrete goal like that is such a game changer
Hey he didn't mention this but if you hate the exercises that he recommended you could dance (for long periods) it doesn't even have to be good just dance thrash your body around
Thank you for including ways to lose weight without counting calories. My anxiety disorders make it a living hell when counting calories and macronutrients, and I have a history of disordered eating due to counting calories so I've been wanting to avoid counting, so thank you ❤

@K0rbzii yeah! It slows down the mold! (again, in my experience) Some say that keeping homemade bread in the fridge, especially sourdough, makes it go stale faster, but I haven't experimented myself yet of counter vs breadbox vs fridge. The lack of preservatives in homemade bread, while desirable, can make bread scheduling tricky lol. But I've had no complaints with keeping store-bought loaves / English muffins / bagels in the fridge.

Emmmm I work at a restaurant and I take some frozen strawberries and some other stuff so I won't spend that much 👀 Gotta save those extra 10-20 bucks cause I want to buy a house or something.
the goal is to find the least calorie dense thing you don't hate yourself for eating, to get yourself the most full with the least calories. my discount grocery sells frozen berries that are overstock for an ok price and then i will rinse them in water to unfreeze them and make them taste edible. if you can find a cheap/free source of apples or bananas, those are much better than processed foods, even though they're 2-3 times as calorie dense as berries.

This guy gives the best advice on the most essential topics in such a simple way with a lot of humor. This is the perfect RUclips channel. And he’s improving millions of lives.
I could add a few things given to relatives who were followed by dieteticians : -Don't skip meals. Seriously don't. Eat well, don't eat less. -Take things slow, you can loose weight really fast but chances are the moment you finish your diet it'll come right back.
That's because diets aren't something you "finish" that's FAD dieting. Your diet is what you eat every day. Whatever you are eating to get to a smaller size should be what you continue to eat indefinitely. If you eat the calories to maintain your body at 160lbs then you will gain/lose weight proportionately to how close you are to that weight, and as long as you don't change your diet, you will end up at 160lbs. If you pick a fad diet that's built to sustain a body at 120lbs then you will get to that point, and if you go back to eating the way you did when you were 300lbs....you will be 300lbs again.
So gonna disagree on the first bullet point about don't skip meals. I've lived my entire life until recently eating 1 meal a day. I always skipped breakfast and often skipped lunch or if I did eat lunch it'd be more like half of a lunch and I would eat the other half at dinner. I've always been a fairly light eater. But point is, everybody is different. My personal body is used to one meal, and spread out throughout the day. I.e. I may order a burger at lunch, eat half of it then at dinner eat the other half. Recently, however, I have been gaining lots of weight. I'm bigger than I've ever been in my life. And the reason? Now I eat breakfast and dinner or lunch and dinner. Adding a 2nd meal to my diet has seen me grow unhealthy amounts of weight to the point I now need to go back to 1 meal a day. End of day it's all about calorie intake. So actually, yes, you can skip a meal and end up losing weight if you can commit to it and if you stay eating that way and as long as you get enough nutrition and vitamins. I always mixed things up every day to ensure I got the full range. You can even lose weight eating junk food and the foods you love if you can simple cut back how much of it you eat. True fact. It's just easier said than done for most people. The key is though you have to STAY eating that lower amount. You can't just return to how you were eating before. It has to be a permanent change. Which does get easier over time
@@WildWombats Dude you're eating fucking burgers of course you're going to be fat. Eat actual food three times a day. Like holy shit this post is up there as one of the most disturbing post I've ever seen on the Internet. Please don't do that to yourself.
@@NO-rf2ff I was not underweight and I had all the vitamins and nutrients as I had a varied diet. If that is an eating disorder then call it that, but I would say it was fairly healthy for my body. Again, not every person is identical. You may need 3 meals. I don't and even to this day, I still can't do 3 meals, and in fact am gaining unhealthy amounts of weight from simply 2 meals. The world is not black and white. One solution does not work for all. I simply cannot eat 3 meals a day and that has nothing to do with any eating disorder. My body just simply cannot without becoming obese at that point. I have never understood how people can eat 3 meals a day, period. My entire family are very light eaters. I think only my grandpa ate 3 meals a day and, lo and behold, he was a pretty big guy. I would argue others are eating too much. It's not like I starved myself. Because I always ate until I was full. I just had a small stomach. 🤷♂️
TO WOMEN: Instead of doing an immediate dip in calories, lower it slowly. Female bodies prioritize fat in case you get pregnant and therefore will start eating your muscle to preserve fat. You will think that you're losing fat when in fact you are losing muscle! Basically your body panics and wants to make sure that even though you are on an extreme diet, you are still able to get pregnant. Yes I know this sucks. In the first month, lower you daily calories by ~100 and each month lower it by another 100. Yes I know it seems like it will be slow but trust me! Source: My boyfriend is a physical therapist (on his way to get his pdh), and a personal trainer. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Edit: Some of you, especially men aren't understanding the point. This post is addressing WOMEN. I know a lot of women specifically who think that reducing their calories drastically is going to make them lose weight. Yes it's a fact that you will lose weight. But the weight you are losing is muscle and not fat. And yes, if you continue doing that you will eventually lose fat too. But as soon as you eat more again once you reach your goal weight, your body will store a lot of fat because it thinks it needs to save it for another emergency. It's also important to include exercise to your lifestyle and eat healthy. Of course you can't always eat exactly 100 calories less, but it's a good estimate :). A lot of studies on weight loss are on 5'10, white males which is why a lot of studies can't really be cited. We also need to take into account women's menstrual cycle. All in all, women are way more complicated than men. (Bf's words) Again, source: BF who is a physical therapist and gets paid to help people, specifically women, lose weight/gain muscle.
Yes! This is 100% true. Unfortunately this gets worse as women age BUT doing it in the method you suggested helps in gaslighting your body into maintaining the muscle and losing the fat. (The difficulty in losing/maintaining muscle and fat is dependent on genes; i had an easier time in weight loss)
The weight loss between men and women is not that, it's not that deep. Men have more muscle which increases calorie need so we have more of a "buffer" Women and Men diet plans by professionals are 99% the same.
@athena5710 a good study to read to start is nih.gov article PMC6282840 which is a study on diabetes prevention. and study PMC5313337 which directly addresses my comment. my comment that the plans are 99% the same is verified by many in the field as well as the simple notion that your body doesn't think it's gonna get pregnant. at all. it doesn't work like that. bodies are reactive. muscle is the sheer defining factor of calories burned sedentary. also when you assume people have a slow metabolism (fat) you are wrong. studies (multi) found that fat people have a fast metabolism and you can change your metabolism by just gaining muscle. the top comment above us is exactly why people are not trusting of imperical testing methods because "it's not what they've seen or agree with" even though you can test it yourself and repeat it. it's quite the problem and the same source as the vaccine hysteria. (last source on metabolism was 21893 from Cleveland clinic) essentially fast and slow metabolism is a myth and it's solely based off muscle mass and this is why women have a harder time. physically it is true to an extent due to the size of the person and even matching people can see differences and that's where this comes from. I encourage everyone to learn to read actual studies and not someone's footnotes. this can help broaden the understanding of life In general and show you that the stupidest person you know is smarter than 50% of people. best!
this is actually such a good video. like its positive and realistic, and i especially appreciated the mention of conditions that make it difficult to lose weight. so many fatphobic people just don’t understand that every body is different. our body chemistry is SO unique, and progress looks unique on different individuals. again, this is such a positive explanation. its nice to see good nutritional health content.
great video, my only mention is to be careful of a lot of the "zero sugar" and "low fat" replacement products -- they often contain artificial sweeteners and substitutes that can wreak havoc on your metabolism and digestive system. It's best to generally stick to the produce and butcher sections of your grocery store as much as possible. It's honestly where all of the actually good food comes from anyways
My advice is telling people close to you your goal! After many attempts to try to lose weight I started as a joke telling everyone "I can't eat any of that, I'm on a diet" I repeat it so much as a joke one day that I started to become so aware of my eating haha, just kept telling myself "I can't eat this I'm on a diet" while laughing, and everyone around me would tell me the same
0:10 no it doesn't matter how much you exercise as long as you have calorie deficit. So it's like 10% knowing how much you're burning every day, 20% diet and 70% actually doing what you said you would. I'm not saying you shouldn't exercise but if you're just doing it for a couple months you'll have to be honest with yourself that you stopped, and adjust your diet so that you don't go into surplus, and for many people it gets too hard so they tend to also quit the diet and get back to their former weight.
It is stupid how well this video summarizes literally everything there is to know in order to be successful in weight loss - and all that in 13 minutes. Take my like and go make some more videos.
Protein is the easiest way to manage your intake without counting calories and has been underestimated in its importance in diet, many experts are changing their tune about protein intake (the majority of the world's population is protein deficient!). As touched on here, it's really filling, and if you look at how many calories a steak or a chicken breast has, it's surprisingly little compared to crap like Oreos. If you prioritise protein with every meal and lift some weights (you don't have to become a jacked ape, just fit and healthy), you'll add muscle, which in turn increases bone density and strength, and the protein is vital for every other function in your body too. All things that also increase with importance as you age. Once you get to your 40s, Sarcopenia kicks in - you will lose muscle at a rate of up to 8% a decade and become frail if you don't specifically do strength training of some kind. Suddenly a bad fall can become problematic, or an injury from lifting something heavy. Also as you age your ability to absorb protein diminishes, so you need to eat more anyway. In short, you can lose weight by eating lots of meat, eggs and dairy (or tofu or whatever)! Add fruit and veg on the side, keep away from too much starch or sugar, and you're golden. You CAN technically overeat protein and have it turn into fat, but for most people they are full way before that. You can eat 2 grams per kilo (or a gram per pound) of bodyweight and have really good results. Most recommendations regarding intake are actually the minimum amounts to not be deficient. Phew! thanks for coming to my TEDTalk
This video was motivating for me. I switched to eating oatmeal with blueberries for breakfast, I’m slowly decreasing my snacks, and I have started exercising more. Thank you for making this video. :)

great video. I've been dieting a few months now, and everything in this video is almost exactly what I have been doing, and it works great. Just getting through the first few weeks is tough, but then it becomes a habit, so its easy, actually
"The real cheat code to motivation is doing it for so long it becomes a habit" As a person with ADHD this never happens, every day is a struggle. It's actually far easier at the beginning when making a change is new and exciting. The thing that changes with experience is knowing and being frustrated enough by the consequences of failure to stick to the plan to actually do it.
The first few minutes of this video are by far the best explanation of setting and achieving goal that I've seen, whether they be fitness based or otherwise. This is the first video I've ever watched where I have felt the need to take notes to save for later. Fantastic content!

@@TagiukGold 10% is *extremely significant* not rare. How many health conditions can you name that affect 1 in 10 people? But hey god forbid a woman make a single comment without a man swooping in to correct her, especially when it comes to her own health.

Stupid question but would it work for men
One of the best decisions I made was to eat an apple every day at 9pm.
Amazing idea

I'll join in as well ❤
As someone who has overcome a harsh eating disorder, I wouldn't recommend completely cutting out foods you love, even if they're considered "unhealthy." Instead, try dedicating 80% of your meal to wholesome, nutritious foods, and save 20% for treats you enjoy.

The single most motivating for me is doing it with friends. Another motivating factor is just watching at myself in the mirror and actually seeing the progress. Keeping pictures and comparing them every once in a while feels incredible
I need friends....

What are circus lessons? sounds interesting!
@@Neobot21 It's classes of a circus school :) Can be any discipline really, but I took general circus training, which teaches the basics of all kinds of a disciplines (think about things like partner acrobatics, aerial, balancing, juggling etc.) Can definitely recommend it!
How fun! I’ll have to check for something like that in my area.
Losing more weight came later, and it's so much easier when you have a true specific, functional motivation like "I want to be better at bouldering!" than something more egoistic like "I want to look better" or vague like "I want to be healthier."
I force some cardio for health reasons, but if that was all I had I'd have given up on it years ago.
Yeah any cardio is good
My ADHD makes me start dancing randomly at home
Thank you for including ways to lose weight without counting calories. My anxiety disorders make it a living hell when counting calories and macronutrients, and I have a history of disordered eating due to counting calories so I've been wanting to avoid counting, so thank you ❤

1:40 the real question is why the peanut butter is in the fridge
😂😂😂😂
And the bread 😳
@K0rbzii in my experience keeping store bought bread in the fridge makes it last longer. Homemade bread is more debatable though
@@kimberly1661 Oh seriously?? I had no idea!!
But I've had no complaints with keeping store-bought loaves / English muffins / bagels in the fridge.
bro when he said the part about the loop being screwed over by tiredness, anxiety, boredom, confusion, distractions, all of those are ADHD symptoms, i just coulndnt stop laughing, like when i was going to my therapist and we encountered all of these issues and i had to understand their concepts and fight them, and the video just sums up all of the tips i did to fight these symptoms, the " work from the most obscure location " one just had me crying, i have done that so many times and people do look me weird and i say its fun (: , very good video i love it

@@emobombado2469 trueeeeeeeee
Emmmm I work at a restaurant and I take some frozen strawberries and some other stuff so I won't spend that much 👀
Gotta save those extra 10-20 bucks cause I want to buy a house or something.
the goal is to find the least calorie dense thing you don't hate yourself for eating, to get yourself the most full with the least calories. my discount grocery sells frozen berries that are overstock for an ok price and then i will rinse them in water to unfreeze them and make them taste edible. if you can find a cheap/free source of apples or bananas, those are much better than processed foods, even though they're 2-3 times as calorie dense as berries.
I don't know if y'all see this but go to chat n ask it to make 200 calories Worth of your food u have only 200 and less

How about people like me who are allergic to chicken 😢
I started trying to lose weight since 2020, by starting doing jogging, I did lose a lot of weight!
Then, in late-2023, I stop eating desserts or high sugary foods most of the time, now I achieved having a flatter stomach.
So my advice for people who want simple weight loss is just start running/long walk and reduce sugar intake

I could add a few things given to relatives who were followed by dieteticians :
-Don't skip meals.
@@WildWombatsall i’m hearing is you gave yourself an eating disorder

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Edit: Some of you, especially men aren't understanding the point.
(Bf's words)
Again, source: BF who is a physical therapist and gets paid to help people, specifically women, lose weight/gain muscle.
Omg thank you so much I hate that 😭
The weight loss between men and women is not that, it's not that deep. Men have more muscle which increases calorie need so we have more of a "buffer" Women and Men diet plans by professionals are 99% the same.
@@HXRDWIREDGaming what's your source? I'd like to see some studies. Do you have a degree?
(last source on metabolism was 21893 from Cleveland clinic)
essentially fast and slow metabolism is a myth and it's solely based off muscle mass and this is why women have a harder time. physically it is true to an extent due to the size of the person and even matching people can see differences and that's where this comes from.
I encourage everyone to learn to read actual studies and not someone's footnotes. this can help broaden the understanding of life In general and show you that the stupidest person you know is smarter than 50% of people.
best!
You've just inspired me to eat all my junk food, so that it won't tempt me when I'm dieting. Thank you so much, such great video ❤
this is actually such a good video. like its positive and realistic, and i especially appreciated the mention of conditions that make it difficult to lose weight. so many fatphobic people just don’t understand that every body is different. our body chemistry is SO unique, and progress looks unique on different individuals. again, this is such a positive explanation. its nice to see good nutritional health content.
great video, my only mention is to be careful of a lot of the "zero sugar" and "low fat" replacement products -- they often contain artificial sweeteners and substitutes that can wreak havoc on your metabolism and digestive system. It's best to generally stick to the produce and butcher sections of your grocery store as much as possible. It's honestly where all of the actually good food comes from anyways
great video! I have been on a keto diet for the last few months and I have been losing a lot of weight and feeling a lot better
