Something about jumping rope makes fat just melt off of you. It’s one of the reasons boxers use it so much. Obviously any hard cardio will help you lose weight, but jumping rope just seems to have some sort of additional factor going on. I think signaling to your body that you need to be light on your feet makes your body want to lose weight to adapt to that need
Impact/vibration to the body enables faster breakdown and accelerates chemical reactions. The same reason why shake a drink to mix it applies to our bodies as well.

@@Tate525 you don't know what ur talking about .. if ur doing a lot of reps specially at high speed, a lot of weight goes to ur shoulders, they basically do the majority of the work up, and ur calves down. So with weighted ropes its gonna be a lot harder on shoulders , cuz calves are just bigger and stronger muscles and the little extra weight wont really affect ur lower body, it's like trying to squat with 10kg, but it'll destroy ur shoulder and arms because they're smaller and they directly do almost all the job with the weighted rope.
WARNING ⚠️: Jumping rope while listening to good playlists is HIGHLY ADDICTIVE. I’ve been jumping rope almost every week for six months. It’s tremendously undervalued. It’s great for general fitness and great for relaxing the mind. And in my experience, a great plus to shed fat.

Don't be afraid to box and don't be afraid to jump rope! I have lost 30+ pounds in a year from adding in jumping rope along with better diet and consistent exercise!! ✊🥊🎯
Years ago i started jump rope movements without using a jump rope...it has same positive effects improving your fitness if you find using rope to challenging..you can even hold weight in your hands if you want...
Along with the jump rope, another unsung hero for exercising is the hacky sack (foot bag). It’s incredible what it can do for cardio, core, legs, etc. Not to mention all of the body and eye coordination
It's been a week since I started jumping rope. The first day I couldn't do more than 3 or 4 skips. But, on the third day I could do a double skip! Even thought I start again, because I lose momentum after. All I have to say, jumping rope and sparring with a bag are the most enjoyable cardio exercises I've done. And you feel more proud of yourself, rather than walking on a treadmill or outside for half an hour.

Wow! glad this video came up! I said, "I have an old leather rope lets do 100" I didnt know I had to oil it, what kind of oil? I dont know, I used the last few tables spoons of olive oil i had. Glad it's helped out! As soon as you get good enough at jump rope to do it without thinking it becomes almost hypnotic, at least for me. It's 10-15 minutes where I don't think at all, like a moving meditation.

I tore my deltoid ligament in boot camp and was unable to walk without pain for a couple years. I couldn’t really plant my foot to turn to the right when running. I contribute my recovery to jumping rope. Not only am I pain free now, I’ve ran several marathons and an ultra since. That was 12 years ago.
Excellent video. I’m thinking of buying a jump rope to incorporate with my weekly workout routine. This video taught me a lot I had no idea about. I’m going to keep these tips in mind with my purchase. Thank you 🙏🏻
I've been using a 2lb weighted jump rope for years and holy crap...it works. My shoulders are massive and my cardio has greatly improved. I might be switching to a speed rope though because of how gassed I get when using my weighted rope. Anyways, love the videos! Also, my version of a jump rope routine is that when i mess up skipping rope, I owe myself 5 Navy Seal Burpees before I can resume jumping.
Adding fun to workouts cant be overstated. I have always been my fittest when I had a team or several friends to work out with on a schedule. And jump rope is a lot of fun - if you can get a longer rope and two friends, you can start getting fancy with your jumps and teach yourself tricks and games. Jumping alone is still a lot of fun, when I jump roped every day I was doing weird tricks and techniques to impress myself with.
Excellent video as usual. But EVERYBODY seems to FORGET the MOST IMPORTANT ADVICE when it comes to rope jumping. Do not skip on a hard surface like concrete. Your bones will develop micro-fractures over time. I was surprised when this happened to me, since I usually run in the city. However, the repeated stress is no laughing matter if you start doing it everyday. You've been warned.
@@cocomaz If you can, maybe buy a jump rope mat. That will help. Otherwise, find an outdoor CrossFit area, or a kids park. Usually, those are covered with a soft bouncy floor which is great to avoid injuries. If you can't do that, try a wooden flood. Concrete is just the worst, if you want to skip everyday. On a side note, I've recently done 2-3 hours of basketball 4-5 days a week. It's outside on concrete, and I can tell I am hurting myself.
I lost 35 kgs in just under a year using jump rope, walking and improvements to diet. I've picked it up again now after some time as I put pack 20 of those kgs I lost.
I have been jump roping every morning, for 10mins, since May 6. That’s about 103 days, the results have been incredible. Over the last month I advanced to 0.75lb ropes and looking to hit 1lb next month.
This is a great video for an overview. I would like to add that for beginners heavier ropes (like the Thai plastic ropes from Twins) are actually easier because you can feel the swing and better anticipate the jumps. As for the lighter ropes, it is harder to coordinate but best advice is to focus more on consistent swings. Most people focus too much on the legs which results in inconsistent swing rhythm and thus getting tripped up.

Great to see like minded peoples and their experiences!!
Weighted jump rope are no joke. Tried it once and my shoulders were sore and pumped 😵
Where did you put the added weight
I don't get it, are your ankles that strong? That your shoulder gave out first.
@@belkacemseffari7404 the grip of the rope has holes and inside you can put metal bars
@@Tate525 I guess 🧐
@@Tate525 you don't know what ur talking about .. if ur doing a lot of reps specially at high speed, a lot of weight goes to ur shoulders, they basically do the majority of the work up, and ur calves down. So with weighted ropes its gonna be a lot harder on shoulders , cuz calves are just bigger and stronger muscles and the little extra weight wont really affect ur lower body, it's like trying to squat with 10kg, but it'll destroy ur shoulder and arms because they're smaller and they directly do almost all the job with the weighted rope.
The art is INSANE!
Been jump roping for a decade and it's been amazing for my counting
WARNING ⚠️: Jumping rope while listening to good playlists is HIGHLY ADDICTIVE.
I’ve been jumping rope almost every week for six months. It’s tremendously undervalued. It’s great for general fitness and great for relaxing the mind.
And in my experience, a great plus to shed fat.
started when I was 36 I'm 49 it's my medicine, I love it 💪
Yes it is. I used to box but after having children I’m struggling to find time to go back. Jump rope helps gives me nostalgia
Bro this is too accurate, I'm really lean that's to this
Try headhunterz 2 hour return full set
I am 6'5" and 440 lbs. I probably won't be able to do this at first, but i am getting a membership at a lap pool this month. Once I am light enough for running, I would like to start jumping rope. Wish me luck! Ill update this comment in six months if i remember lol
Good Luck buddy
I absolutely love jumping rope! It wasn't until I began boxing, another great workout, and confidence booster, that I discovered how much more effective and fun it was over a damn treadmill!! Don't be afraid to box and don't be afraid to jump rope! I have lost 30+ pounds in a year from adding in jumping rope along with better diet and consistent exercise!! ✊🥊🎯
Jumping rope was my favorite exercise when I was in my 60-day crossfit boot camp. I loved it because I could jump rope all day.
Years ago i started jump rope movements without using a jump rope...it has same positive effects improving your fitness if you find using rope to challenging..you can even hold weight in your hands if you want...
Good, I do same but not too consistent, I’m motivated now.
your poses are so dynamic and and so much energy
Along with the jump rope, another unsung hero for exercising is the hacky sack (foot bag). It’s incredible what it can do for cardio, core, legs, etc. Not to mention all of the body and eye coordination
This video is one of the best I've seen in this platform. Thank you so much.
And you feel more proud of yourself, rather than walking on a treadmill or outside for half an hour.
listen to some music
I have just started jumping rope few weeks ago. I do it everyday and youtube recommended me this ❤❤
I love skipping rope! Thank you for motivating .
Crossrope is legot and worth every penny. I bought one during covid and it improved on my workputs significantly!!!
GET IT🎉
Thanks gona start jumping rope again. I havent done it since the double dutch days as a kid
Thank you for giving me the motivation to live my life
I ha e been a big fan of skipping rope for years, recently I bought a " flow rope" and I really enjoy it and start to understand how it's supposed to connect your whole body. I ll be really curious to seeing a video of you about it!
Always great videos, always a pleasure to watch it!!
just found this channel from this video, I think this is the exercise channel I've been looking for, thank you
Been jumping rope since I was a teen (Im 36 now) and I believe its the reason why I've never rolled my ankles skateboarding.
Thank you so much sir for the knowledge 🎉❤😊
That’s it, I’m starting to jump rope, i used to love doing it as a kid
This video got me started moving again. Thank you
I've never thought jumprop can be this affective
Really appreciate the information ❤
Aziz Brother, congratulations on your wonderful transformation. You are blessed by Almighty Allah with the best Trainer and Mentor in KPK. Bravo to Sir Najib.
Perfect workout, let's practice now 💪
This is the video I’ve been waiting on!!! Thank u!😊
I used to love jumping rope in Elementary school and was often one of the last ones standing in our little competitions. I might have to go buy a jump rope today 😮
It's difficult the first month you get back into it. The feet and ankle ache and your jump timing will be way off. But if you can make it through that it becomes a lot of fun all over again.
I play tennis at a competitive level, and when i started jumping rope my level really reached the next level, it improved my cardio grestly and my footwork got insanley good.
One more benefit--it improves your timing, which is essential for boxing, basketball (especially on defense), and probably a lot of other sports.
Always hated running for cardio. Switching to jump rope was a game changer. Lost 80lbs and learned a few cool tricks in the process. People at my gym often ask me if i box (i dont😅) i switch between a lighter rope and a heavier rope as well as wearing 12lbs (total) ankle weights
Wow! glad this video came up! I said, "I have an old leather rope lets do 100" I didnt know I had to oil it, what kind of oil? I dont know, I used the last few tables spoons of olive oil i had. Boom knocked out 100 and rested, I can do 100 more... my calves were starting to burn at this point. Yes! jump rope is for me! thanks!
There is specialty leather oils you can buy that work best, but honestly almost any oil will do the job.
You earned your subscribe, that was a phenomenal blend of art study and physical education.
Your videos almost exactly align with whatever fitness problem I have every time
EX: I'm short on time and HIGH in stress, so I need a quick enjoyable cardio. And thats when u made this vid
Thank's for ur vids man
Glad it's helped out! As soon as you get good enough at jump rope to do it without thinking it becomes almost hypnotic, at least for me. It's 10-15 minutes where I don't think at all, like a moving meditation.
I just noticed this myself and commented nearly the same thing on a short.
I guess it's time to dust off my jump rope that's been sitting by my front door for months!
@@moversodysseyis 500 skips a day good enough for me to lose 1kg a month
This motivated me so much, I will do it every day for 10 minutes before my 30 Minute full body workout!!🔥
I think it’s better if I start with 5 minutes.
As a former varsity college tennis player, I remember my coach having us jump rope for ten minutes after practice even when I was in high-school.
Really effective video. I think I'm gonna shift my work out from yoga like movements to jump rope.
I tore my deltoid ligament in boot camp and was unable to walk without pain for a couple years. I couldn’t really plant my foot to turn to the right when running. I contribute my recovery to jumping rope. Not only am I pain free now, I’ve ran several marathons and an ultra since. That was 12 years ago.
couldnt walk because of a bad shoulder?
@@ImOnlySIeeping Ligament, not muscle. The deltoid ligament is in the ankle.
I jumped rope today after a long time and it felt SO GOOD😍
Thank you very much for the video, this knowledge is very useful and practical
Em 2 minutos de vídeo já me convenceu 👏👏
2:19 I love this drawing and the ones after, different and nice bro keep the style
Reminds me of that old school And1 character on them tshirts
Adding fun to workouts cant be overstated. I have always been my fittest when I had a team or several friends to work out with on a schedule. And jump rope is a lot of fun - if you can get a longer rope and two friends, you can start getting fancy with your jumps and teach yourself tricks and games. Jumping alone is still a lot of fun, when I jump roped every day I was doing weird tricks and techniques to impress myself with.
I used to jump ropes as one of my main trainings, I should go back and resume it
thank u for taking short people into consideration !!!!!
Where to skip then?
I have been jump roping every morning,
for 10mins, since May 6. That’s about 103 days, the results have been incredible. Over the last month I advanced to 0.75lb ropes and looking to hit 1lb next month.
is your hieght increase ?
@@saifulislam-z2j7z yes, not sure by how much, but it’s great for your posture.
This is great to hear. 10 min every morning is very doable
Integrity of production and complete transparency, just lovely
This is a great video for an overview.
I would like to add that for beginners heavier ropes (like the Thai plastic ropes from Twins) are actually easier because you can feel the swing and better anticipate the jumps. As for the lighter ropes, it is harder to coordinate but best advice is to focus more on consistent swings. Most people focus too much on the legs which results in inconsistent swing rhythm and thus getting tripped up.
Great tips, thanks for sharing!
Agreed, I have a speed rope, a cheap liquorice rope and a one pound weighted rope and the one pound is much easier to learn with.
In the first minute of this video i just bought one on amazon. I always wanted to learn it.
3am motivation hits hard

You caught me bro

Literally read this at 3am sharp

I jump rope almost everyday and never knew these things. 🔥🔥🔥💪🏾
Just bought 2 jump ropes after watching this! Thanks for the knowledge
I love the drawings bro, it keeps the videos at a high quality level.
You inspired me to start jumping rope ✅💪🦵
Definitely recommend that crossrope. The free jump feature is pretty cool
