I think for the vast majority of RUclipsr’s, especially those just starting out, or those on a budget, this is as basic (and yet still moderately advanced) as it gets while providing an excellent audio-visual end product! I assure you there are new Tubers that will watch this, learn the basic set-up needed for lighting and sound, and it will boost their production quality ten-fold. I tend to do mostly audio narrations on my channels, but when I do on camera presentations, this is essentially a similar rig to how I run mine. I use a different mic and such, but that’s what makes this a fun platform. So many variations to make channels unique. That’s what we really need is more creative setups so that we don’t end up with carbon copypasta everywhere 🤣 I will keep saying this… your channel is invaluable to new-to-moderately advanced content creators. Always excellent content / advice / tips / tricks / planning methods.
This is a pure studio of "Less is More". I love how Omar explains to minimize the setup so there's always no friction between you and the record button.
Excellent video. I am 77 years old and I had a career in commercial photography and then a second career teaching photography and studio portraiture. You are spot on with your lighting set up. Front lighting, rim hair lighting, accent background lighting and a good lighting ratio on your face. If Joseph Karsh was alive the famous premiere portrait photographer who made the famous shot of Winston Churchill was alive, he would give you two thumbs up. Thanks for all the tech info also. 👍👍
The way you guys don't gate-keep ANYTHING in relation to your set up has me coming back every time for recommendations!! Absolutely loved this video, thanks Omar.
One thing I've not heard from any of the YT video trainers is the parallel cameras they have running to make jump cuts during a regular video. I know you called out the fact that you're using a second camera to show your studio in this video, but a separate video about 2nd camera/phones and jump cut strategies for recording yourself from different angles while you talk would be a huge help.
Two words: Top Tier Love the cleanliness and simplicity of your set up. It's amazing how tech has evolved over past few years for creators, but alas, I've yet to "push record."
So glad the algorithm recommended your video! I'm thinking about content creating again after I quit YT 5 years ago even though my channel back then was slowly growing with 1 of my vids getting close to 100K views. Your setup is inspiring--thank you!
This is THE video I'm looking for! Just need a simple setup to start recording. Less traction to hit that record button. Not to be overwhelmed by 10 different lenses and 200 different lighting setups. So thank you!
AAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA SUPER "CRISPY". Man as an engineering student who dropped out to pursue music and also did the best at music production (as opposed to the other parts of music like theory - no surprises there), I can really appreciate all these small kinks and strategies to take s*** to the next level. It's called going the extra mile and it is definitely not lost on me. Looking at my financial situation currently though... one step at a time. For now imma just churn out as much value as I can from my mom's study room which you see in my latest videos, my iphone 4k videos, a 15 dollar dynamic mic I bought during arts school for the backup singers in my recitals, and my music production knowledge. But I love you guys and I've saved this video. SUPER CRISPY!!!! Did I mention my daughter likes potato chips? Sorry... dad joke.
Saved this to my RUclips research playlist! I struggle with a small office that I also have to telework from, bad sound, & not-great lighting. This sort of set up looks ideal!
Thank you for sharing this. This goes to show that you don't need to have expensive gear to make a simple yet effective video. Thank you for the tip on the start and stop remote as this may be something I will look into in the near future.
This is awesome!! Do you have another video for a podcast setup for a group of 4 people?? Would love to know how you setup a podcast room for a group of 4 people!
Oh my goodness, I think you just solved my problems! I have recently started a RUclips art channel and I just can't live with the subpar equipment I have been making do with for my instagram reels. It's time to upgrade and I keep making unsatisfactory purchases trying to find the right equipment. It's frustrating and overwhelming. Your crisp sound and lighting is my goal and I just haven't been able to make it happen even with tremendous effort. Making some purchases today!! Thank you so much!
Simple and straightforward beats complicated and convoluted. Every day of the week. Love your super short intro: "You gotta just press record!" That's what we need.
Yeah, you killed it with this one. Since your video was shot so well in terms of audio/video, I feel like the things you talked about were true and a good guideline to follow! Thanks for this great video.
A man's day is typically filled with a variety of tasks and activities, ranging from work and family obligations to leisure activities. It is important for a man to prioritize his tasks and manage his time effectively in order to ensure that he is able to accomplish everything he needs to throughout the day.
Omar you always do the best videos. You do all sets of gear and layouts and you also use simplified/minimal gear. I appreciate you laying out distance of mic and camera as well. Keep up the good work
Gonna order the Sony ZV - 1 as my first proper camera after Making RUclips videos for more than a year .. seems like the best deal in my price range 🤞Exciting and Scary 🥹
Hi @ThinkMedia, please could you make a video on how to set up the sigma lens??? I would like to purchase the sigma 16mm f1.4 lens for my canon camera but there is a lot I see online about using a software to program it and adjust the focus of the lens before actually using the lens to make a video. Please could you help with that? Or do I just buy and use out of the box? I’d really like to get the sigma but what hinders me is how to program the lens.
Love the set-up, Omar. I have always been impressed with the clarity, "crispness, " of Think Media's videos and this one did not disappoint. Thank you for all the information on your studio set-up.
This definitely inspired me when creating my first ever RUclips setup, I just did it as my first video & the results were magnificent. Thanks for inspiring!!😍
What a great info video. I don't have the budget for this budget setup, but I'm saving it to watch later when I have more space and money. Really a great presentation showing the effects of the lighting being off/on without too much explanation. Thanks!
Great info, we’ll shot organized, entertaining & professional. Appreciate your contribution to this community. I’ve been encouraged by many, colleagues, friends, clients, other RUclips influencers to start a channel. They think I have something important to share. But, I’m reluctant because I’m not good looking, dynamic, enthusiastic or experienced. That’s a lot of things to overcome & if there was anyone out there talking about my perspective on things, it would be much easier to go on about my life. If I do this, my ego won’t let me make some poorly lite, shot, recorded, edited & presented hot mess! Period! I’m subscribing to your channel because off all the channels I’ve spent the last month looking & listening to on the subject of RUclips videos, yours is the best! I’m just sayin…
I'm slowly building my studio. I have 2 lighting kits My laptop hooked to 2 monitors ( waiting on my cannon powershot SX720 to arrive ) My go pro camera My cell phone My stand adjustable desk My gaming seat I'll be installing audacity and OBS to my laptop too Now I will need some ideas to start my you channel and podcast. I appreciate all that you do for the viewers. *** I like your set up by the way ****
What a great video! Lighting really transforms the entire video, I need to start investing in equipment. I try to film during the day to avoid this issue. Thank you for these tips!
Thanks so much. I am glad because you guys have inspired me to level up my audio and I am indeed super grateful. Thanks Omar and I have never regretted watching your videos and taking notes. I am even making a video on that soon too. All thanks to you
Hi @thinkmediatv for the mic, what kind of clamp did you use to connect the mic to the arm? It looks like you had to buy something extra for that, but you never went into that
I wouldn’t call this setup simple….but it’s very good. Thanks for sharing knowledge, skills, experience and doing all of this work to put it out to the world
my new house i will it my office and studio (and it holds my books, what is my topic in most video´s and when i have guests it will my guestroom) so im thinking what i want, and different backdrops. but i was thinking about how to do the lighting, i have know a few ideas how to do that. Love this video because it shows my vision is possible!

No right now I am just using basic equipment either my laptop or phone. The first thing I would like to invest in is a microphone
this is simple and elegant

@omareltakrori @Think Media Great video btw! Only question i have is, what Month/Year is displayed on your wall calendar? :P
do i like it? its ok....i have limited space...and make do we what i have...not much
Please never stop this PLEASE. You are one of the only creators helping people how don’t have $40k to spend on equipment. Thank u
You spend nearly 2K to be exact if you follow this
Yes!!!!
This is what i wanted to write really
@@moy3804yep but he is quite clear about what are the most important parts in this setting, the mic and the key light, which are not that expensive.
I agree
This is a pure studio of "Less is More". I love how Omar explains to minimize the setup so there's always no friction between you and the record button.

the snoot with the window light is so dope!
When I looked at the link, I can’t see where it describes that capability? I loved it
As a new RUclipsr, this video was very helpful. I love the fact that it was straight to the point and no extra fluff. Thank you 🙏🏿
Love your videos and I'd like to add a rim light to my setup. How are you clamping the GVM light to the Varipole? Thanks!
One thing I've not heard from any of the YT video trainers is the parallel cameras they have running to make jump cuts during a regular video.

I respect that Omar because you giving out the sauce that nobody share on RUclips thank you I really respect that
Definitely need that video on how you use your small space for multiple angles! Please!! These videos and the studio transformations are SUPER helpful
So glad the algorithm recommended your video! I'm thinking about content creating again after I quit YT 5 years ago even though my channel back then was slowly growing with 1 of my vids getting close to 100K views. Your setup is inspiring--thank you!
I love that you pop some quick reference pics to the products during the video
This is THE video I'm looking for! Just need a simple setup to start recording. Less traction to hit that record button. Not to be overwhelmed by 10 different lenses and 200 different lighting setups. So thank you!
This video is the gift that keeps on giving, omarel, thank you man!!

All the lights together give a cozy and welcoming feeling! If one was missing, it just wouldn't be the same. Nice video! :)
Saved this to my RUclips research playlist! I struggle with a small office that I also have to telework from, bad sound, & not-great lighting. This sort of set up looks ideal!
lighting makes SUCH a difference in video quality. Definitely saving this to work on for my future videos! Thanks for sharing.
Thank you Omar! Appreciate your hard work helping us low count RUclipsrs
Think Media is probably the best channel there is for RUclips tips! The quality of their content is off-the-charts amazing! 😁
Thank you! ❤️
Man you have a lot of good tips in this vid. Even if you don't have a Sony, just great things to recognize about making life easier. Thanks!

Love this! We basically use a RUclips setup for a podcast and it doesn't look too bad!

I just started my channel and uploaded my first 6 videos. This is literally a dream studio setup, looking forward to slowly build one as I grow
Omar and Think Media always giving value❤️
Nice! Very helpful, I really like your background decor too. Such an underrated detail people don’t talk about in the tutorials.
Omar you always do the best videos. You do all sets of gear and layouts and you also use simplified/minimal gear. I appreciate you laying out distance of mic and camera as well.

I love the way you explained every stuff, simple and precised
Most well done lighting break down I’ve found so far.
Thank you so much! These videos inspire me and also I’m so thankful that you and your team share the secret sauces. That’s why we follow you!
I have the Sony ZV-e10 and my question is, what video settings do you use to record? I’m a beginner so idk what some of these settings even mean..
Last year, I bought the multi arm mic boom you suggested. I use it in the semi and have had zero problems with it.
Thanks, I can't wait till I'm able to upgrade my setup. Good health and God bless
Thanks for all of the lighting details. I struggle with that aspect of my videos each time.
Same here
You and VidIQ gave me great tips that led to me getting verified! Thank you!!
Love all your videos. You’ve helped me so much. And yes. Ya boy drippy with the lights though! Haha

I’m doing this setup, however, I can’t figure out what mounts should be used to clamp onto the Varipole?
Thanks so much. I am glad because you guys have inspired me to level up my audio and I am indeed super grateful. Thanks Omar and I have never regretted watching your videos and taking notes. I am even making a video on that soon too. All thanks to you
Hi @thinkmediatv for the mic, what kind of clamp did you use to connect the mic to the arm? It looks like you had to buy something extra for that, but you never went into that
I would love to see a CANON m50 settings video…. I purchased based on Think Media recommendations but have had difficulty setting up

Thanks, Boss. Please share more...
