    Take my money. I’m sold! Been wanting a reliable/fuss free car in this segment with a sorted ride and handling and good steering. Gizmos and feature can go to hell.

    • @RockingHardikVlogs
      @RockingHardikVlogs Год назад +7

      Why ? whats the problem with Gizmos ? It makes life easier, smarter.

    • @aaronderyl
      @aaronderyl Год назад +31

      Well some gizmos like a 360degree camera help a lot in parking / manoeuvring through tight spaces preventing scratches. Your hard earned money should be completely worth it if there were some good gizmos on top of the basics right? USB C is at present a basic. What’s your take?

    • @punc1214
      @punc1214 Год назад +54

      @@aaronderyl I understand your perspective, and it’s true that having gizmos and advanced features can be appealing. However, from my experience, I’ve found that the fundamentals of a car play a more significant role in overall satisfaction. If the basics like ride and handling , comfort, and reliability are not up to par, buyer’s remorse can set in easily.
      Regarding the 360-degree camera, I feel that it may not always be as useful as expected, especially in this catagory where the resolution is not up to par. The edges turn up so vague that it does more harm than good. In most cases, relying on rearview mirrors might be more practical when making tight maneuvers. Premium cars with high-resolution 360-degree cameras do offer a better experience, but in the case of this category, a rear camera may be more than sufficient.
      The only feature I miss are electrically adjustable seats with multiple adjustments. Not even the ventilated seats so much. Honda have some of the best air conditioning in their cars so sort of negates the need for ventilated seats.

    • @punc1214
      @punc1214 Год назад +26

      @@RockingHardikVlogs I’m all for gizmos but the truth is, there’s no perfect car. They simply won’t give you everything in a single package. Ultimately it comes down to your personal preference. I would always go for strong fundamentals instead of feature galore.

    Fantastic and a very sensible review by Gavin! Honda checks a lot of lists - 220MM ground clearance, comfort, spacious, large boot and proper Honda driving dynamics. I wish they could elevate the interior a bit(it's time Honda upped the luxury quotient!)
    Also missing are 360 degree camera(immensely useful in crowded cities and parking spots), memory seat function and cooled seats. I can let go of the panoramic sunroof, but other than that a very compelling SUV.
    Honda needs to price it correctly if they want to compete in this increasingly overcrowded segment.

Similar looking SUVs surround us so much these days that popular opinion has started to move away from SUVs back to sedans. Hats off to Gavin for such a brilliant review. No nonsense and straight to the point. You perfectly highlighted the strengths and weaknesses of the Elevate. Now about the car, i really like the design. Tall, upright and boxy, makes it seem more SUV than anything else in the segment. The interior also looks amazing and well built. And i don't mind the missing gizmos since majority of them are unnecessary or impractical. It's got all the basics covered. And Honda can add some of those missing features in the name of a facelift if they want to. I am really happy to hear that Honda didn't lose out on the fundamentals. Proven 1.5 IVTEC engine, brilliant ride and handling, steering feel, proper SUV like ground clearance, visibility and driving position. And being a Honda, it will also be reliable, safe and provide a fuss-free ownership. My only gripe is the lack of a turbo petrol/strong hybrid but they can do it later if they want to. Pricing is going to be the key and if Honda can price it under 17 lakhs or lower, it will turn out be a great proposition in the segment. Anything above that 17 lakh mark is going to be a bit of a gamble. I hope that this car sells in good numbers and it will help pull Honda out from the trouble they are in right now.

    Thats yet another brilliant review by Gavin. Equally brilliant was the car being reviewed. It was a shame that Honda didn't have a car in the hot mid SUV segment and they had to wait so long. But though late to the party, what an entry!! With strong fubdamentals and matching looks and a feel of solidity I think Honda has a winner in Elevate. This sure is going to elevate the game to the next level in mid SUV segment.

    Lots of so called SUVs in India without even an AWD option. Dear car manufacturers please stop fooling customers and at least offer an AWD option before clamouring about that SUV tag. It's not really an SUV if it's not off-road capable.

    It's disappointing to see Honda's drop from the mercurial rise during dolphin Honda City days. Everything has gone down ever since. Being Honda loyalists, we've bought a couple of the models but the built quality, lack of features & a design that's plain at best, Honda has unfortunately lost the game completely in India!
    With the Elevate too it seems like they haven't learned from the losses over the past few years. It seems like they are playing "catch up" at best rather than create a ground breaking model for the category. No Panaromic Sunroof, Electronic Parking Brake, Impressive Sound System, Dated Screen, Cheap looking plastics, for a 2024 Mid Size SUV?
    Nevermind.

    The fuel economy figures seem okay, while turbo 1.5 engines are quoting 19 and 20kmpl nowadays, they rarely get above 10 in real world conditions.

    Very good review, said everything.
    I wish if there were the deisel engine to power this one. It is extremely frugal and powerful at the same time.
    As far as the competition is considered this is really a step down in terms of features, and not to forget people are considering their cars as their 2nd home. Even tata motors is updating their small offerings with class leading features.
    As a honda the safety rating is expected to be better than that of koreans.
    Next thing that is about to disappear from hondas stable might be the city.

    Value proposition through mild hybrid can really push their sales high. There is still a craze for Honda but the company is not realising this fact. Few points if they keep in mind, they can still flourish in the Indian market (both the youth and the mid-aged professionals)
    1. Panoramic sunroof
    2. Strong/mild hybrid (especially the mileage)
    3. Pricing (see that they fit inline with Hyundai and Tata segments)
    4. 360° camera (a car like Baleno offers that man).
