the performance and feel makes up for the lack of features and tbh most of the times we wouldn't even notice the gimmick features cuz i own a base i20 and it has a basic stereo but it doesn't bother me
Nothing wrong about the review btw as a Honda City owner who has driven 87k kms I would suggest you test drive before taking a decision and I know this is just a deceptive facade and on highways if you travel with full load that's where you start hating this engine.

Diesel is a huge miss from Honda. A layman would obviously go for a oil burning mile cruncher as it makes more sense for their use case.
Not everyone is looking for a car where they can rev the nuts out of the engine. This car at best would eat 5% of Hyundai/kia sales period. Those 5% would be enthusiasts in my humble opinion.
And those enthusiasts would rather buy the city over this. Now, where does this machine stand? Let's wait for the pricing as it will play a major role.

I don't think this is missing any features!! It's missing some topend features like ventilated seats ,panoramic sunroof other than those it's well loaded.. Honda's are decently loaded from the base variant but others are bare basic .. The competition if we check those features are limited to topend!! VWs , Skoda, Honda are not fancy or gimmicky, they are well engineered cars that are to enjoy being driven!! Ivtec always makes us 😁

This car will not break sales , but this one will stay in the market for long because of its pricing, and absence of some of its features are strategically made in order to cut on those extra lakhs. And become the cheapest good looking car , with space and powerful engine in the Under 15 lakh SUV segment.

Koreans, no matter what the build quality or the cars making all sorts of noises post 4 years of ownership, have spoilt the market by giving so many features that their cars are the benchmark. Honda could have added a 360 camera at the very least to give some breathing room to the salesmen on the ground to make a push for sales. One may not need a 360 camera or a sunroof, but then greed is endless and perception matters. The car looks excellent though, will again do well at launch due to new model frenzy but will eventually fizzle out. I hope the management gets the HRV or other cars back on Indian roads and not treat as unworthy of good cars from Honda.
If this had
- one touch up and down on all doors
- electric parking brake
- rain sensing wipers
- height adjustable seat belts
- maybe one novelty feature like panaromic sunroof, ventilated seats or power adjustable seats
It would have been a great package.
Pricing wise it has to be on the lower end
Though Honda is expecting only 4k sales monthly, so they might just price it on par or higher than the competitors..

Yes. I don't feel missing on the features. It has all the features I use but efficiency is something which disappointed me.

Gordan Murray would argue that NA is always better for consumer vehicles because it is more economical yet gives us enough performance to have fun on the road. Especially with a proper V-tec engine, under 3000 rpm the mileage would be good.
Turbo engines require burning more fuel even if you don't want to go fast or use the power to counter the forced induction because of the turbo. Otherwise, the engine would explode.
So in conclusion, a NA engine leaves the milage figure dependent on the driver and manually controllable.
Bro 19L me top model le raha hu mai elevate ka petrol automatic. Is price me kisi aur gadi me ni mil rhe features jo ye de rahe hain. Grand vitara me bhi ventilated seats and even wireless charger jo hain vo unke hybrid vale model me hai which costs around 21-23L. 20L vala model hai unka petrol top automatic usme ni hai vo. Even adas bhi ni hai kisi bhi model me. Sirf 360 cam hai joki itna khaas ni laga mujhe, maine dekha tha use karke. Also in elevate we get adas plus lane watch camera jo left side blind spot dikhata hai. And ye camera pure time mai on rkh skta hu if i want but GV me 360 cam bhi 10 ki speed ke bad jake band hojata hai jabki elevate me rear and lane watch dono mai chahu to gadi ki top speed me bhi use kr skta hu. Baki kuch farak ni hai features me except gv has panaromic sunroof whereas elevate has that half sunroof but it doesn't matter to me since it's just a gimmic anyways. No one uses it in India, only when they go on a vacation in the mountains. Still atleast we get that half sunroof. It'll be enough.
I think sunroof shutter closes under heavy breaking to avoid the glass shatter to filter through sunroof shutter and come in cabin if incident occurs👍

Exactly, I don't know why HUD, massive pano sunroof in Indian climate is so hyped, electronic seat adjust isn't that big, the missing feature I'd say is seat ventilation that's more imp than sunroof in Indian climate. That's the only important thing this car is missing out IMHO.
Precisely. The "features" that ELEVATE doesn't offer are just bells and whistles. Everyone forgets that this is a vehicle and therefore fundamentals are important. It is like smartphones - talk about everything except that it is a phone and one needs to be able to talk and hear clearly (the most fundamental feature of a phone). HONDA has done its homework.

We are a small family and my budget would be around 14-15 Lakh and I need good features in the vehicle. My driving will not be much. However I love to go for long drive and I enjoy driving a lot on long trips.
I am looking for few things as MUST HAVE in the SUV is : AT gearbox, Ground Clearance must be decent, Safety 5 start and should have decent mileage.
1. Sedan vs SUV/Compact SUV : please suggest the name of the vehicle ?
2. Kushaq/Tigun or Mahindra 3XO AT or Honda Elevate CVT ?
3. Shall I go for any strong Hybrid ? If yes which one.
Or shall I wait for Honda Elevate to come up with Hybrid?

11:33 my school van driver used to close omni sliding doors like this. So that’s a cool feature to have.
No Hybrid / No ventilated seats / No head rest for middle passenger / No EPB / No autohold / No 360 camera / No rear disc brakes / No 3 point seatbelt for middle passenger in the back. And No the driving experience doesn't make up for the lack of everything.
Everything else are more or less personal preference.... But these are absolute necessary features OVER ADAS. No Air purifier / not enough charging sockets at the rear, not even 1 USB port ! (personal preference)
The VTEC is awesome but absolutely nobody is gona take it for a drag race or even drive like Faisal did n wont be happy with getting 5kmpl ! For majority of the customers, its almost as good as a useless feature !
Trust on your skills not your 360 degree camera and all the other features mentioned expect 3 point seat belt all are fancy features offered by Koreans to attract and at the End the price tag will he in raise and you won’t use in your day to day life 🤣🤣 autohold man grew up if you don’t know to drive in hills without assistance your not a real driver your car is helping you out grow yo guys don’t be fooled 🤣

Honda is offering Ventilated seat covers as an accessory. And it's performance is pretty good.

I think Honda Elevate is an all rounder. It has a balance between the likes of Creta and Taigun. It has got the performance, handling, ride, comfort, adequate features, practicality, and reliability. I think it ticks all the boxes. Only thing, it should be priced correctly. In fact, I feel, this should be priced lesser than the City for the initial pricing. Only then it can attract buyers.
Faisal ,for car buyers, the car is not all about the wheel spin and engine revving until 7000 rpm. It's about how it serves the purpose in the city and out on highways......
As i said earlier, shorter gearing and vtech mmmmmmm this huge elevate drives like a city. Now thats honda engineering

The best part is the interior it looks like a Lexus or a BMW car interior due to the lexury brown colour and the rear looks more good and front looks like Honda pilot SUV which is above 70 laks indian money and is not offered in india and this car comes from the same 5 gen Honda City platform which got 5 star safety in Asian ncap and it also gets ADAS which is actually good and good mileage, Honda is ranked as the world's most reliable car brand according to Carwow UK

It misses out on a LOT of features when compared to the new Seltos and also the Seltos gets a much more powerful engine. Saving grace for this car could be its pricing, Honda NA engine reliability and Honda build quality. KIA has made the Indian Seltos a tin can structurally, to accomodate all those fearures and power train options, if the Elevate manages to get a perfect score in the crash test then that will be a big factor.
Most buyers in this segment are for NA engines and this IVTEC is way ahead of any other NA engine in this segment. Only engine which comes close is Grand Vitara and that too only for fuel efficiency
@@thameemulansari7247 true, Honda makes the best NA engines in India but the thing is, NA market is fast becoming a niche. People want more and more power and you can either do that by using a large capacity NA engine (>2L) or by turbo charging. The latter is easier to bring about.

In fact even Creta has stopped Turbo temporarily and that hasn’t affected its sales .
Grand Vitara of course , never had a turbo and it stil sells a solid 10 k units each month

No Indian market don't want turbo engines....
They sell very less in number....
Till now all the cars present in the Indian market of NA are selling very good numbers....

Honda should come up with a higher trim full of fancy features. 360deg cam, sun shades at the rear, one-touch windows, venti seats to target family customers
But for an enthu, this is all that is needed

I believe there's more than enough features for an enthusiast who don't like big boring screens inside car. And yeah that's me. Because even after 10 years with its timeless design it will look much better compared to new Creta and Seltos which have way too much features that some people don't even want.

Am using 1.3 DDiS from 2010. Very much used to the midrange torque from that engine. Now planning to buy Elevate, how to adapt the driving pattern to exploit the top end performance. Me from Kerala, basically a land with majority two lane roads and congested traffic, will it be a sensible option to go for VTEC or 1.0 TSI powered engines

Looking at the pricing for the top end model and lack of so many important features and abysmal fuel efficiency, I sometimes think that Maruti Grand Vitara makes more sense to buy now?
Also, I would be interested to see long term driving experience of the Elevate with 4-5 people and luggage. Honda's in India are known for pathetic suspension when more than 2 people sit in the car. Honda City is the epitome for poor suspension when carrying human souls.

Honda did their work the elevate is good looks nice but the lack of features like the panoramic sunroof or the 360 degree camera really hinders its appeal no doubt that gem of an engine is a drivers delight and is top notch overall the car package is good but like faisal said pricing matters the most now coz late to the party now they gott have some big usp up their sleeve
U will use the panaromic sunroof for like 1 month or 2 month after purchase after that u will forget it was there..
@@udayavignesh9695 umm not really in my case whenever I am in a car that have a sunroof i just open the sunshade as I like it makes the car feel more big and airy and as in the situation of business all of it's competition have the option for panoramic sunroof they lack here
@@utkarshkaushik617yeah I agree whenever we get a ride in our friend or relative's car we'll do that..but when u own a car u will forget everything there air purifier , wireless charger , 360 degree cam , panaromic sunroof, the only thing that holds up is engine , driving dynamics , reliability, comfort & decent mileage.. yeah surely hybrid and ventilated seats are a miss.. but I think other things make up to it's just my opinion 😅
@@udayavignesh9695 yeah you are right engine and the reliability plays a role and in our case being the automotive enthusiasts we are matter of fact that role is huge for us but on the other hand if we look at the market we are just a small percent of the audience mostly the Indian audience goes blind when they see cars loaded with features
I think it takes time it's not gonna happen anytime soon...once there is a decrease in first time car buyers...with more car buyers who have actually owned a car our market will change from a feature focused Market into a market which appreciates a car for what it is...

Mg repair costs and reliability issues are deadly, so always keep that in mind.
@@ujjwalkaushik4664 i own a mg zs ev and a hector both are a gem of a car i also own a creta and honda city 2009 and mg has not given any problems in last 4 years of my experience and service cost is way less in comparison to hyundai and its way more reliable even the staff is lovely in mg talking abt hyundai going to sell it too much pain in the nose always in service its a 2016 model and regret the decision but honda is great never been to service , zero engine related problems and its a great car after 13 years of service but also mg is a great brand u should try it once . Koreans never make a great reputation in my opinion i10 and creta both had the same problems of either wiper motors or window motors etc. So no more hyundai from now on.
