Had worked as QE with Hyundai n Kia for almost 10yrs and can confidently tell how badly designed and unsafe cars they make for Indian market. They don’t even come close to EU standards. Atleast Honda has got that reliability and quality assurance since years with great build quality and globally consistent chassis.
Nice. I currently own a city, can confirm that the engine gets noticeably better at the efficiency numbers once its done 8k-10k which means this too is likely to be the same👍
No way! Using 15 Jazz SVMT… Pamper its accelerator paddle and it returns not more than 17-18… and once u start enjoying its refined powertrain, figure drops to 10-11kmpl If you are looking for refinement go straight to HONDA showeoom! It neither gives performance nor good fuel efficiency!
Honda is capable of making class leading cars in each segment, somehow they lost their way during 2014-15 time period. Heavy cost cutting, too many vehicles in Amaze platform damaged their brand image in India. Good to see them back with their best work...
The Elevate has kept things simple yet effective when it comes to features, focusing on what’s really important. It doesn’t clutter the mind with unnecessary tech but gives you useful, practical features that enhance the driving experience. What really sets the Elevate apart is its familiar powertrain borrowed from the Honda City but with gear ratios modified to suit its unique use case. This powertrain is already proven in the Indian market, ensuring it will deliver a smooth and reliable performance. The key to Honda Elevate’s success in conquering the Indian market, of course, would be the pricing strategy. If Honda can hit that sweet spot where quality meets affordability, there’s no stopping the Elevate from ruling the roost. As a fan of Honda’s reliable vehicles, I’m genuinely looking forward to seeing how the Elevate fares in our market. It has all the potential to outshine its rivals and become the new favourite amongst Indian consumers. I really enjoyed the review from the back seat. It did show how practical the car is. Very nice review. Keep up the good job!
Iam a fan of Honda as well, I use the Honda City Diesel V model. It is a very good vehicle, I mean the city, but unfortunately very unsuitable for the bad indian roads especially in Kerala, with its low ground clearance. This is a problem with many sedans, but with the Honda City, the problem is even more, because it has one of the lowest ground clearance in the segment. Even a small pothole suddenly while driving on an N H as it happens often in Kerala, at a reasonable speed will spell doom for vehicle. The Elevate seems to be a panacea for Honda enthusiasts like me, especially as far as the ground clearance aspect is concerned. Nect, Honda always seems to have the habit of hitting the bulls eye as far as the requirements and expectations of customers are comcerned. For a long time they stubbornly persisted with the petrol variant, which is a stupendous vehicle as far as the quality of the engine is concerned, when the demand for diesel was evident. And, finally when the diesel variant was introduced, many Honda loyalists who found the petrol unaffordable had shifted to the diesel variants of other brands, which in effect prevented Honda from making inroads into the market share. Next, when the demand was slowly shifting to SUV's or rather crossovers less than 4500 mm, they stubbornly persisted with City, which helped Hyundai to eat into the segment with ease with their Creta. After a long time, Honda brought in Mobilio based on Brio platform which did not stand a competition to the Creta, because it was more of a elongated hatchback than a cross over or a compact SUV above 4 metres. Then they brought in BRV also on the Brio platform which also went into history books without much of a problem. Finally they brought in the WRV again a compact crossover below 4 mts which looked good, but by then the market share of the compact SUV below 4 mts was fully eaten up by the Suzuki Brezza. On top of that the WRV did not have a diesel automatic option which hastened its downfall. Now the Elevate seems to be on the WRV line, as Honda has stubbornly persisted with a petrol option only when a pure hybrid or a smart hybrid option in addition to pure petrol would have helped them to eat into the market share of the Hyryder and Grand Vitara which as expected of Honda's stubborn thinking never happened. It would be a miracle if Elevate survives considering it to offer the lowest mileage in the class. But Honda seems to have clearly gone the wrong route, and even if they introduce the Electric version, it would be costed really high and would hardly make impact. A Hybrid option reasonably priced would be the better bet, but Honda even if they introduce it, will do so only when the time is up and as expected will die a sudden death. It would be a miracle if Honda Elevate survives with sales touching reasonable numbers especially with the stiff competition and many players vying for the market share. If Honda Elevate dies the way Mobilio and BRV died, it would surely point out to the illogical thinking of Hond's market analysts than the vehicle's fault per se.
Yesterday , I went to service my city and came across elevate , the car is so premium all LeD setup in all the models , car is so premium both interior and exterior , only thing is it needs more engine option
Practically in cities like Bangalore you can expect around 10-11kmpl that's what I get in city . In Highway if you drive at 90-110kmph you can get around 18-20kmpl .
Honda (maybe 4 years late!) has dropped a BOMB in this segment with ELEVATE!! Ever green design, time tested rev happy engine.. Most practical SUV this for sure
Am a honda city owner & definitely going to buy this as waiting since long for SUV which has same quality like city…yes one expectation is that interior could have been move better
launch this for 11.5-11.7L as base variant, keep most of the stuff. And then elevate as the price go up. Thats the only way people will notice it. But knowing their small car like Jazz was overpriced, I think this one will start at 14.5-15L and if so then Creta/ Seltos become the obvious better. Pricing is the game, which Honda never got right in India.
Surprised many popular cars like CRV,CIVIC are discontinued. Even JAZZ, BRV, BRIO should have been continued by doing some changes , face lift versions based on feedback of customers. Honda also need to continuosly educate the buyers the benefits of these cars- Longevity, refinement , comfort etc.
Top models like crv, civic are discontinued in India, as here there seems to be no market for quality products, in India only value for money, fancy features etc. sell. Honda's top models are doing wonders in developed markets like the US, Japan, Malaysia, Australia etc.

Creta and Seltos look big and bulky, Elevate looks big and attractive. Ground clearance is outstanding in Elevate and space and drive quality seem to be similar to Honda standard. If they price it slightly less than Creta, then they will capture the market. Indians are price conscious buyers, they may not shell out a premium for Honda.
My 20 year old 1Gen Honda City also gives the same mileage in the city but gives 19 to 20 kmpl on the highway. Honda should have given a hybrid in India.

Watching this video on 24/7/2024. Now that Honda has seen it's promising product not deliver blockbuster sales figures, they should seriously consider bringing the strong hybrid system on the Elevate. With the tax break on strong hybrids in UP (and some other states might follow), the sales number could be solid. Just look at how Maruti and Toyota are ringing in solid numbers with their strong hybrids!
I think Honda has done a fabulous job on the Elevate, but there are some clear misses like a panaromic sunroof, 360 camera(as you also mentioned), also the other cars in the segment are offering options for turbo, deisel and even Hybrid. If honda pays attention to these details, then i think it is a well packaged product. Design wise no complaints at all.

Both are not going to be frugal in city. Elevate might still have a lil edge if you drive sedately. Of these two, I would pick the elevate because of better ride quality.
how does a NA with no lowend torque whatsoever better at city driveability or even mileage, i guess you just have to get in and crawl to the office. Didn't experience elevate but city's suspension is done at 90-100kmph it bounces, bottoms out, dips while cornering. Kushaq suspension is good, high speed stability and if you drive sedately it soaksup the small undulations really nice, but if you are rushing in the city it is better to get a hyundai to beat the crapout of that suspension.

@autoyogi - I stay in NCR and you would know that it can have very long Jams on NH8 in case some breakdown happens. Still the car is able to give me 15.4 kmpl overall (Trip A) and in short runs (petrol fill to petrol fill) which is Trip B, it has varied from 17 to 14 KMPL. I have already clocked 7000+ kms. So hoping that it will improve post 3rd service (10K KM). Not to forget, once I was driving early morning when the traffic was very less on NH8, and it actually gave 25KMPL for 16Kms drive.

Yes... this design grows on you..
Why does the elevate engine make more noise than the city engine?
Both 1.5 ivtec.
Is it because of the tuning?
I have one honda city latest gen. Now I want to buy one suv in automatic version.
Which one you suggest?
Kushaq style 1.0 tsi (TC)
Elevate (cvt) zx

It will be good to hear a clear good and bad opinion about the AC.
If Honda bring that hybrid engine, city waala, here in this car then it will be a revolution
"Kya chal raha bhaiya... petrol ka price ?" dat was savage!
What's a decent/acceptable FE for this CSUV in city and highway driving conditions???
Brother, fuel efficiency in city is pathetic.....around 8 kmpl in a city like Mumbai
I just need to know how are the headlights of this car and if Honda could have given all 4 Power windows auto up and down
Why they not provide hybrid..? Like Toyota... waiting for Toyota Raize... will it come to India

Elevate always
The design is good, atleast something that's stands out in Korean crowds. But they need to add hybrid here else the selling number will come to 2 digits.
Atually which color this red or orange? Looks same color directly?
Backside I also feel that thigh support is not enough
Pricing aa gayi hai, kya lagta hai kaisa package hai???
Looking forward ❤

Thank you for the update...
Very simple and beautiful car no doubt better than creta and seltos
Pls do drive review of New Kia a seltos ivt version. Pls. When will it be possible ??
@autoyogi - I stay in NCR and you would know that it can have very long Jams on NH8 in case some breakdown happens. Still the car is able to give me 15.4 kmpl overall (Trip A) and in short runs (petrol fill to petrol fill) which is Trip B, it has varied from 17 to 14 KMPL. I have already clocked 7000+ kms. So hoping that it will improve post 3rd service (10K KM). Not to forget, once I was driving early morning when the traffic was very less on NH8, and it actually gave 25KMPL for 16Kms drive.
Hi, do you drive elevate CVT automatic or manual transmission?
