Ian Callum came up with the modern Aston Martin design language. That was the pinnacle of car design. Every subsequent Aston Martin designer is basically tweaking his perfect design. All Aston's look good because they are derivations of Ian Callum's design however they can't really improve on his work.

    • @SellingLAandMiami

This is the smartest comment I’ve seen in the two reviews so far. Ian is the man. As a 2nd gen Vanquish Volante owner as well as a 2017 Jag F-Type R convt I really think Ian has to be one of the very best coach designers ever. I think the back end of this Vanquish looks like a pick up truck door. Side is nice with wide deck sills and the front looks about the same as previous models. Interior is great

PS. Given the ideal piston volume of around 500cc, that explains why the most successful versions are all around 6 liters, 6,2, 6,3, 6,5...not 5,2l. I hope that 5,2l plus all that plumbing is really well insulated and ventilated, otherwise they're bound to suffer extreme heat soak 🤦

I'll be honest, I would love to see Aston do an 'affordable' (lol) rear mid-engined model, like a watered down version of the new Valhalla (?) to really go head-to-head with Ferrari and McLaren.
