I wish more OEMs took on restomods. JLR did the 70th anniversary defenders and had to buy used ones to start with. Aston also has a classic program that will do modifications. Ford has now dipped a toe with the mk1 escort; imagine if they would do the Sierra and Escort cossies, the mk1 focus RS. Imagine if mitsubishi started doing old lancers, Renault did the old 5 turbo maxi and Vauxhall cracked out the Lotus Carlton. These cars could be so powerful as halo vehicles, far more so than a super modern hypercar or sports car which would cost a fortune to develop.
@nickgalla-barth6336 alfa has done a couple of wild cars with the GTAm, 8c, and that recent Tipo 33 stradale homage they did, so having a brand that does regular cars and then a proper out there halo car is doable. Ford did it with the GT.

The 037 was RWD, the best configuration for race cars on tarmac. It was the last non 4WD to defeat a 4WD car (Audi quattro), but it required some creativity and Walter Rohl behind the wheel. In the end, 4WD is the ultimate best for rallying.
When the driver is talented, 2 wheel drive, front or rear is enough. 4 wheel drive is fun but there are too many ‘driver aids’ these days, they flatter average drivers. If you need these interventions, stay home and play on a game box, driving isn’t for everyone

Hypercars with unique selling points like the T50, Valkyrie, Tourbillion and CC850 will be ok but manufacturers are really gonna have to to do better than a turbo/hybrid/217mph top speed if they want to stand out (especially with the C8 ZR1 and Mustang GTD threatening to make them look stupid for 1/10 the price).
Wow, the concept of Pagani restomods is such a tantalizing thought! Imagine the blend of art and engineering that would come from that. It’s exciting to see how brands like Kimera are pushing the limits in the restomod world. Can't wait to see what they come up with next!
i forgot what garage started it but search "s2000 type r" and i'm sure it'll pop up but an interesting oncept or "what if honda made a type r variant of the s2000" has started to become a thing / with sooooo much aftermarket support,, it's an extremely reoccurring stigma though a bunch of enthusiasts (in a beautiful manner)

He's about to/or just recieved in Italy a Torino 380W (the Pininfarina model with 3 webber 4 barrel carbs that came close to winning nurbungring in 66?67?) it was his dream car as a kid. he had it restored down to the original bolts. if you call him he'd probably show it to you gladly, he loves it. the car is MINT, just as it had rolled off the factory a week ago.

The restomod craze is just Europe catching up with what Americans have known since the 60s. They’re hot rods, pure and simple. And everyone loves a hot rod.
