If you get the black screen and just sound then t@ means your TV resolution is different from the ps4.. Try changing the resolution on your TV manually until the picture shows
Century Beatz get a hardrive and make a new folder and call it PS4 all caps just like that and then make another folder in that folder and call it update i think it has to be in all caps too and then go download the intilize or update file front the ps website and put it in the update folder it should be like a 1000 gb file and then put it in the update folder and let it download in the update folder then once that’s done make sure ur ps4 is turned off and before u turn it on put ur usb in there and it should say intilize or update I would intilize so u won’t have to go through this again and u should be ok hopefully that helps and if it does could u pls sub to me

The option is there if you move the directional panel down you will hear the click, in other words your TV picture output is different from your ps4 that why the picture isn't showing but you can still hear the audio. Change your TV hdmi input to a different one on your TV.
Need one that's ps4 compatible, sometimes cables don't work that not of a Sony brand. Get a Sony brand if the controller doesn't work. See if it's charging when it's asking you to push the ps button that will let you know it works..

I had turned on my PS4 and was getting ready to play my game and when I opened the game it showed an error ‘cannot start the application’ and some numbers, so I thought a little restart would fix it. I restarted the PS4 and when I turned it on this happens, and following ur video I’ve put my PS4 on safe mode and put the resolution option and it showed ‘restart’ the set the resolution and I pressed okay and it showed the PS4 logo and the screen turned black like how it used to.. anyway to fix it? Your save data might be corrupt. You might have to delete it. Your system firmware might need to be reinstalled, Or your hard drive might be damage, try a system restore or rebuild database in the safe mode options if it doesn't work then you might need to buy a new harddrive.
its the hard drive my ps4 was laggy asf pop a new hard drive and its alot fast. and mind did the same thing. games always crashing ps4 slow the hard drive is about to give out and u can use a ps3 drive if u dont have a ps4 drive

Then you have to reinstall the firmware update. You can get it from playstation website.. If that's the software you are referring to. If not it might be your save data if it is find out which file it is and delete it.

You might have a corrupt save data on your hardrive . That happened to me while playing God of War, I had to delete the save data and everything was OK.. If that's not what it is your hdmi cord could be damage, make sure your hardrive is working correctly as well

The safe mode screen was just connect a usb storage device I clicked ok and it said no usb then clicked ok again and the same thing happened
Make sure the usb formatted to the default. Then replace the firmware update on it and try again..
it works , but doesn't. so when i select resolution , and the ps4 shuts off and then restarts , when it gets to the ps screen , it turns black again .

I change the factory HDD to a 2T & now its working fine. So your problem is the HDD, change that & you'll be ok
