Buy a new USB worked for me
When I choose resolution it goes black
I just don’t use my ps4
Try hooking it to a different tv after you change resolution than if it works bring it back to the original tv it was on I think it’s a calibration problem
You might have to restart ur PlayStation or find another video to fix
Yo bro got it working I changed resolution to automatic wasn’t working swapped TVs and it worked on the other one brought it back to the original tv and it worked but resolution is off bought to switch that now

It’s seems like my ps4 is trying I can hear the background sound cutting in and out but no video the game worked fine yesterday no issues put it in rest mode start it back up next day black screen tried safe mode but can’t see what I’m doing still tried to follow the method
I can’t do it because when I put it into sage mode it still says no signal, so basically I’m stuck in sage mode with no signal and my PlayStation is ruined. Thanks

i went into change resolution and it restarted and it went back to a black screen??
edit: i changed the harddrive and it fixed everything

That's all fine and dandy except my problem is it never starts back up to select the resolution. In fact no matter which option I pick from the d pad it never restarts. Just turns off.

TLDR/Cliff notes - You may be able to fix this on your TV side through factory reset on your smart TV.
Long story - Just spent the last 2 hours messing with my PS4. I could tell that there wasn't anything wrong with my PS4 since I could use it fine with my remote play through my phone. I used this video as a guide to navigate to the resolution setting in the safe mode menu without seeing the screen. When I powered it up, I still didn't see anything but black on my screen.
I saw that other people solved this by doing a factory reset on their PS4, but they loose all of the data on their console. I decided to try to do a factory reset on my TCL Roku TV sine I would much rather go through the process on the TV than my PS4.
After the factory reset on my TV it worked!!!

So I turn my ps4 on than I wait than puts me in the black screen than I go to safe mode I do the thing than brings me back to the black screen and than it restart
