To help anyone out you can do one of four things 1, you can try and change a HDMI the opposite way or completely, that may work 2, you can hop into safe mode and rebuild data base or restart if they don’t work you next option is to reset everything. 3, if you still have warranty bring it back and get it fixed or get a new one, and 4, try looking for corrupted data and save the data the cloud and delete and reinstall it and then go to rebuild data base. I hope this may have helped you.

If you're console is playing sound but is not playing any video, even on safe boot, try power cycling the tv. That is the only thing that fixes it for me. No videos ever mention this but it has worked for me 3 times
My ps4 is going through a big crisis, this will affect my interests, and hobby carrier if it won’t start processing again because it’s still stuck at a black screen. I did the same process but still nothing changed...
I go on safe mode and click on the change resolution and it restarts like normal. But then after that it just stays on a black screen. It doesn’t load up, it just goes straight to a black screen after the logo disappears. I have a PS4 Slim I’m not sure if it has something to do with it being a slim. Edit: Hopefully it all works well for everyone that is trying this. After a good while, my PS4 ended up not working properly anymore. And I have since then gotten a PS5.
Is the PS4 really hot? If its really warm or hot and your trying to do stuff in safe mode it wont work right I think. I let my PS4 cool down until it was no longer warm and then tried it and it worked. Hopefully it works for you too.

To all the people that still need help hold the power button for 30 seconds then if your screen is still blank and your ps4 is off than press the home button on your controll and it should fix your screen
When I click on the automatic button for resolution, my screen goes black again and my ps is frozen. I can figure out a fix, would you happen to know one?

Had this issue myself. Quit working on Older TV with HDMI but would work on newer monitor. While plugged into newer monitor I went to: Settings > Sound and Screen > RGB settings > Set it to "Limited" > Then plugged back into older 1080p TV HDMI port > (RGB setting reset itself back to Automatic) and it had no more problems. Before I would get a flickering screen, snow, or no signal at all. Hope this helps.
My problem is I bought a brand new ps4 and I'm still getting no signal and it won't turn to safe mode....My TV works for my cable .....Could it be I just need a new tv,?

@Aleatorio turn the tv off, unplug it for about 30 seconds, click power when its off to make sure, then plug it back in and turn it on again
