You follow the steps without looking. Hold down the power button for 7 seconds. Press down once and select that option. Press X to confirm. Wait for PS4 to restart, press X. Hopefully that solves your problem.
Your hdmi is messed up that’s what happened with mine nothing showed up and I went to a shop who fixed it in a couple of hours and it’s like brand new amazing stuff

Cheers. It was actually the tv. Everything else was working fine, Sky, BT, DVD etc except the Ps4. Swapped HDMI cables around and everything still worked except ps4 so I did what you suggested and unplugged TV for 60 seconds and its up and running fine. Can't thank you enough as I was about to pay to get it repaired. 👍

Everyone knows how to get into safe mode however some people’s ps4s can’t get into it.Some ps4s just stay on and the tv saying no signal. I had this problem and I was trying to get it to work for like four hours and I found the solution which was bending the metal strips in the ps4 hdmi port which allowed the hdmi cord to connect to the ps4 and process over the image and sound that everyone is struggling with
For those who all of the sudden had the shutting down problem a lot within a few days and can’t find a video, this is the one. If you are in the middle of doing these steps he says and it shuts off again, wait until it goes back on then continue and it should be fixed!
Yoooo real talk, I just unplugged my tv and then I saw a loading bar up to 23% and then 10 seconds later my screen went black and saying “no signal” again. I gave up and waiting for the PS5😑😑
If anyone is having trouble try doing the first step. Even if you can’t see just follow the buttons he pressed. After that unplug your TV. That worked for me.
Suggestion @1:33 unplugging all devices and waiting 60 secs did it for me! I actually waited a little longer maybe 2 mins because I got sidetracked, but yeah, worked instantly for me Ty liked and subbed!

"Checking the cable connections" was also sound advice as my specific problem was that HDMI cable was bad. My cats surely have something to do with it. But when i changed out the HDMI with a spare I had laying around, all was well.
For the people who are having this issue, I also had it,i couldn't even see the safe mode screen, but i read somewhere that if your hdcp(in system settings) is active,it might not recognize the device which is not compatible with the hdcp standart. I went out, plugged it to a different Monitor then deactivated the hdcp and woosh, it worked in my tv at home. That might be the issue
mine doesnt work anywere i checked if my hdmi is working tried 3 diffrent hdmi cabels all worked on my laptop but not my ps tried it on a diffrent tv still didnt work just tells me signal recieved pls help

Mine was doing that too but i removed the hdmi powered down my ps4 and tv and then plugged in my hdmi cord then turned on my tv and then did the 7 sec ps4 power and safe mode showed up
terry mcginnis I had the same. I think it probably has to do with the hdcp getting messed up after the security updates. Since the blank screen sound only issue occurs when I split the signal with the hdmi splitter. However I have been able to deal with the issue by unplugging the power cable of the splitter and then hook it up again.
bro I was having this issue and this legit fixed it I don't know why. I tried everything replacing my hdmi cable, booting in safe mode ( which I could see) but then outside of safe mode it didn't work. I was about to give up and I unplugged my tv and replugged it in and it fixed it like wtf lol
