The PS4 dual shock is the only controllers in the history of all my consoles that has given the most grief by not charging anymore. The PS3, PS2, PS1, Genesis, NES, etc, controllers are still going strong.

By far the best and clearest video I've seen on repairing PS4 controller. 👍
For those who are trying to use their wired controller (doesnt have to be wired, but are using a wire to connect a controller to pc) with a pc, try unplugging the usb from the PC and replug it in the back, this has helped me multiple times (what it does is reset the connection the pc has with the controller, however you can also reset the connection the controller has with the pc by pressing the button on the back for a complete reset [Note: you will need an application such as Steam, DS4, or something similar for your controller to connect to a pc{without it it will simply charge the controller}])

Mine sometimes works and sometimes doesn’t. Right now both of my controllers are dead and I know my USB cable isn’t broken, but they just won’t charge I’ve had this problem since Day 1 of having a PS4

I connected my red controller to my phone today and I disconnected it from Bluetooth and sense then it will not connect to my ps4 I plug it into the ps4 and press the ps4 button and it flashes white. It doesn’t flash yellow so it’s not on Bluetooth. I tried two diff charging cables. I even tried plugging it into the wall. My black controller stopped charging a few weeks ago and I have no idea why. I plug it in and it flashes green and says the battery is low. I need help FR. That’s $100 in controllers just going to waste. I can’t even play Fortnite 🧐 pls help!!

Can be bad battery or loose battery connection to the controller board, try to reseat that connection inside or Might need to buy a new battery.

Hello, good job there. I have one Dualshock 4 controller, its charging but the PS button is not responding when pressed. Initially when connected to the PS4 pro it will disconnect and when press it will connect and reconnect. But after trying to reset b pressing the RESET button, it never come up when the PS Button is pressed. The usb port/connector is working fine, even the share button works fine, but to power it with the PS button is the problem. What can be the issue and fix?

Had a watch to see if there was anything I could do but with no luck, after you mentioned the middle bit of the charging port gets bent I noticed both my controllers were like that and hence my problem. As I wouldn't be arsed with ordering a new port I bent it back with a small knife and now have 2 working controllers :) So thanks and for others maybe worth a try before the extra effort.

Hers an easy fix, throw it on the floor as hard as you can, and go buy a new one. JK
But really, many people completely overlook the reset button, and also don't bother to clean out the charge port (that thing can get pretty packed with dust and debris).
I had to take apart my launch day PS4 controller two weeks after I bought my PS4, the R1 button was sticking. I was quite shocked to find out it was using the same battery as the DS3 uses. But that launch day PS4 lasted me until this year. The R2 now only will register 80%, you really have to press hard and twist for it to see 100%. And the thumbsticks are no longer returning to 100% center. It'll still charge and does work, but with its issues it's pretty much useless so I just bought a new one.

I got a new controller last week. I have three controllers and not one will charge all perfectly fine looking and two brand new. I’ve tried EVERYTHING. New chargers, charging in different places, resetting them everything. PLEASE HELP.
when replacing the USB Charging Port, do you have to also replace the white ribbon wire as well or do you use the same one that your controller already has
Also if you have multiple controllers, & wanna know if your battery is not working switch out the battery with another controller & if the battery ends up charging then it's not the battery it's the metal thing that you gotta replace. That's what I just found out. I almost got the battery till I doubled checked first. & it wasn't the cord it.

Can you tell me where the LED is located? I thought it was on the charging port board. My controller is a CUH-ZC72U. It got wet and I can't tell if it's charging, but it does charge. I also have a PSVR so I kinda need that light to function. I don't know which replacement board I need.
