A possible FIX for a PS4 Pro WHITE LIGHT Fault

- Hi, if your PS4 has seized up and is showing a pulsing white light like shown in the video then you may be able to fix it by simply holding down the power button until it fully shuts off. When it turns back on again it will think that you unplugged it from the power without shutting it down properly and will go through a safe start up procedure but then it should be back to normal.

This is my third Pro that goes through this, most recent i lucked iut and just had to hold the power button and the console turned off, left it off sor like 15 seconds and it booted up normal. I realized this happens more often if the console loses internet connection, like the console just doesn't know what to do if your connection drops suddenly.
I was having a issue with mine turning on had the white light. I had held the pier button several times till the ps4 shut down I turned it back on and it didn’t work then I saw your post about the internet connection so I unplugged the internet held down the power button for two beeps and a shut down restart the ps4 it turned on I had a screen on my TV 🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳

I got my PS4 slim last year. Now it has alot of problems booting up. I cant even fix it. It randomly shuts off even if I'm not playing a game or while I'm updating a game. It doesn't matter what I do.. ,.and the screen goes black but the white light stays on. It's been going like that for a week. I never had problems with it this bad before. It was working just fine 2 weeks ago. I'm probably gonna wait until I get an xbox and then wait until I get a PS5.

I had the same issue but was able to resolve it. I turned on the PS4 and nothing would show on the TV. So I turned my controller on as well and noticed then when I moved the joystick I had audio as if I had options. If this is you this is what I did: first I swapped out my HDMI cord and inspected HDMI outlets to ensure the prongs we're not damaged. No results. My next attempt was to leave the PS4 and TV on and in white mode, then unplug your TV from the outlet. Wait a few seconds then plug it back in. Turn your TV back on and you should have video/audio. Then everything worked. I hope it works for you too!

Seth Mueller it just happened to me as well. It’s not weird that the solution was to unplug the TV from outlet and than plug it back. So what was the problem the TV and the HDMI or the PS4?

I had this problem yesterday. If the video method doesn't work, just try another HDMI cable. It worked for me!

This works, although I tried this before seeing the video. My Pro wasn't turning off and I just held the power button and it worked and booted up, no beeps tho.

When it's turning on the light is blue, but when it's fully on, the light turns white and doesn't flicker, when the CD is inside it gives me a couple minutes until the screen goes dark and have to back to menu, if I try to shut it off it'll freeze and I have to force it off, it keeps persisting

Yes this worked by mine still shows white when I turn it on. I don’t know if that’s what it has to do but mine still shows a white light.

With your PS4 pro having the white light, change your TV input settings to say your cable input for about 1 min - then switch your TV input back to your PS4 pro and it comes back to life
Same problem for me, but instead of downloading fully that thing it gets stuck at 25% and then says download 6.51 update.. but when my ps4 is fully functional it says that latest softward update is downloaded.. any ideas?

I’m having a problem with my ps4 pro with it staying on solid white. The display on the tv and audio work perfectly but my controller and new controller won’t connect at all. Every time it’s just flashing white, I got it to connect once but both my controller and ps4 light remained solid white which won’t let me handle anything. Hopefully you read this comment and help me out please.
My PS4 Pro console was turning on with a blank screen, constant white light and changing the TV resolution to 576p. I tried changing the HDMI cable, switching to another HDMI port on the TV, PS4 hard reset and nothing worked.. I then disconnected all of the cables, unplugged the power cable from TV for 30 seconds and then reconnected everything before turning the PS4 back on and its now working, albeit with a constant white light still 🤷♂️
Hey! My ps4 pro does the same once or twice a week and once even asked me to manually install the firmware which is quite boring. I bought it 6 months ago, should I use the warranty or is this behavior "normal"

Hey Vince, I wonder if you heard about Joy-Con wandering issue I have this for a while my left analog stick is going left for its own cleaning it with toothbrush or blowing through there helps for a while but it’s just a temporary solution. I couldn’t find anyone who has a proper solution for it. It reminds me the analog problem you fixed on your Wii U controller. If you can help I would be glad.
Hey there, it hasn't happened to me so I have never looked into it. You can calibrate the analog sticks via the system settings but I don't think that will help with your issue. You can also get a cleaning spray that I think used to be used on the old tape cassettes that evaporates off so it is apparently safe to use on electronics which may help if for example dirt or a fizzy drink has gotten split on it. Do a google search for the spray but in the UK places like Maplins used to sell it. If going for the spray make sure to tap the sync button to turn the joycon off and do not move it otherwise it will turn on again and the spray may damage it if live.

Me and my younger brother was playing Madden 19 and we had a power outage so like 2 hours later when our power turned back on we was trying to resume our game but then this happened. The button where you turn the power on manually is supposed to light up blue. Then when the PS4 is fully on it should stay white and your PS4 controller light should be blue.
