- In this video explain how to identify your problem so in my case my PlayStation booted up to the PlayStation logo then it went to a black screen and the tv screen kept detecting an input, the back light kept going on and off on my TV. So I assumed that the HDMI worked in the GPU did not fail But I checked the HDMI output on my PlayStation four to make sure there were no bent pins and I also tried changing HDMI cords on the TV. I made sure my PlayStation was directly powered into the wall because I know my PlayStation randomly shuts off when it is not directly connected to the wall. I went to the PlayStation website downloaded The latest full update+operating system for system initialization. The way you can tell is the update is usually under half a GB and the update+ operating system is usually over 1 GB. I followed the PlayStation website instructions and made a PS4 folder and in the PS4 folder I made an update folder and in the update folder I put the update and the operating system.
Next thing I did was boot my PlayStation into safe mode by holding down the power button for seven seconds until you hear the second beep. (Make sure your ps4 is all the way off) before you press it. This takes you to the safe mode menu then you click on initialize PlayStation four “full install”
I did this and nothing happened so the next step that I did was I took out my hard drive from my PlayStation 3 put it into my PlayStation four did the exact same steps for installing the update and operating system and bam my PlayStation works now! #PS4Repair

Probly to late now but mine was the sytem update my ps4 i did it but it forgot it i had to turn it off hold intill you hear two beats then download system update if you already had it connected to the internet you can download it from the screen your ps4 went to after u held it for 7 sec and that fix it
I figured it out
1. Put ps4 into safe mode
2. Go to where it says update
3. Update your ps4 in safe mode
4. You should be good from there
That’s what worked for me I’m not sure if this is everyone’s case.
or just change your resilotion
This happened to me. Couldn't get into rest mode. Kept trying. Finally worked. Downloaded system update straight from the safe mode screen and it fixed it

Just got a new hard drive and it was working fine for 2 weeks but after that it stopped again I had this problem with the old hard disk aswell

Turns out it did! And my PlayStation is back to working order without having to get a new hard drive! Thanks so much

This happens to me where I turn on my ps4 it goes to no signal or a black screen but I got a new hdmi and it worked. That’s what worked for me

I replaced the HDD the last time this happened and have not had an issue since. This is only a temporary fix. If you have this issue follow the video to get your system working and order a new HDD.
If your ps4 turns on displays the logo then black screen for about a min then turns off this really is the fix. I have to do this every few months. Pretty sure the root cause is the hard drive. I always surf the web before I do this again to see if there is new info out.

For the past 3 weeks I’ve been dealing with the software corrupting, games constantly corrupting after updates. My hard drive was toast! Quick question though, the ps3 hard drive was only 100gb which gave me space to download two games, should I buy and internal Hard drive and get an external??
Yes the PlayStation 3 hard drive is basically just a test / temporary fix I would go on Amazon you can pick up hard drives for really cheap on there or maybe check around and see if you have an old laptop that you don’t use and grab the hard drive out of that

Definitely an internal hard drive and external hard drive functions a lot slower than an internal one

After I go into safe mode and rebuild the database the screen just stays black and I have to put in a disc for the ps4 to start up and rebuild database?

OrBeast OG hey dude , you need to take apart the casing till you’re at just the harddrive , or you need to buy a laptop harddrive but I think ps3 only takes laptop hard drives then you swap the harddrive into the ps4 harddrive casing, and yes you need to format the harddrive once everything is in the ps4 then you need to install the new software with the USB!
When I turn on my ps4 in does a storage check and says it'll restart the ps4 after then it goes to the black screen with the PlayStation logo then it fades to just a black screen for like 30 minutes and then it turns off.

I fixed it okay hold your PS4 button down for 7 seconds till you hear the second beep and then go to realize database and click that and then wait 20 minutes or so and it just worked for me bro

This is also happening to me right now but It won’t let me press the power button to go to safe mode. i was in safe mode before this happened.

Hi everyone what you can do is If it goes into blue death mode (when your screen turns off and when u try to turn it on it flashes blue only) just go into safe mode and update ur current software using (internet) that’s it!

Another temporary fix: Load HDD in Linux and rewrite Partition Table with gparted. Initialize ps4 through rescue mode with the "fresh install update Pub" from Sony Servers (the bigger one). If ps4 acts slow after succesfull reinitialization - go buy a new HDD before the next breakdown happens!

Hey i dont know if you still answering but till the new update 8.03 my ps4 turn on and it shows me the logo then it goes to black screen after 2minutes or 3 it says database is corrupted and goes to black screen and it says another time database is corrupted still show me that message 5 times and then it turn off by itself
Please follow the instructions in the video Try formatting and reinstalling the software and if it’s still goes to black screen or something is wrong then you’ll need to replace the hard drive which is only like $30
Mine just goes to a ps logo and just a black screen. When I initialize it I download some games and then it just reset itself, now I'm back to square one again :/. I can't afford hard drive cause they are soo expensive so I think I'm screwed

Hello I just fixed my brother ps4 following all tips from different resources
First I tried unplugging the TV and it still wouldn’t work
I went to safe mode and changed the resolution still nothing
I changed the HDC setting to not automatic and it still wouldn’t work
So finally I did the system software update waiting for that to load and it finally started to work
So I’m not sure if it was a combination of those things that made it work but it started to work again
When the screen came back on it did ask about my resolution so I suggest changing the resolution for sure
Final resort was initializing the PS4 thank God i didn’t have to do that and erase all of my brother gaming history
If I add an external hard drive would it work too or do I have to replace my existing one

Will switching the hard drive delete the capture gallery??? I really only want a way to keep my capture gallery. So I turn on the system, then the PS logo appears, but then it goes for a black screen forever & then after like 5 min of nothing it turns off by itself. Brutal T-Bag sounds like a faulty HDMI cord test it with a new HDMI and a different tv and if that doesn’t fix it then replace your HDMI output port

It should still Be the primary but it’s extremely easy to reset which one is primary you just go on the PlayStation website under devices

Exzaiver Foster hmmmm are you sure it’s not giving the tv signal or is the ps4 actually displaying a blank white screen? I would test it by throwing a new hard drive in there if you can’t even get to the safe menu it’s really easy it took me 2 mins
