Willspider5 But yeah it was really sort of breaking fiction, because the entire team was leaving and they didn't want to go. However, David said himself that he thinks the Tenth Doctor would say that, but still, it was more of a "this era has been so good none of us want it to end"
Roses will always wither Friendships shall always die Memories forgotten Ponds will always dry The River shall reach an end When The Doctor dies Even a Timelord cannot run forever So tick-tock goes the clock Even for The Doctor
Cagan But what is it that he is running from? And in the end where can he run to? Everyone leaves him in the end and he is forced to live forever alone with nothing to do but run from his dark past and create a cheerful act to hide how lonely and sad he is on the inside, Doctor Who is a tale of the saddest man in the universe and how he lost everything he ever held dear
And now his Song is ending A Melody that should never die Even now he remains Noble Even when the end is nigh With many good friends made The Immortal shall breath their last The Rose shall wither and die So please just make it fast The doctor became a soldier The Master is no more With four knocks from gramps The doctor opened up the door All of reality has been saved To the end of time the doctor came With both his hearts broken He shall never be the same
good poem well read filled full by dread but i feel that a falw was made. when you believe a thought is dead for what can end the life of an idea? perhaps when theirs nothing left to explain will his final bed be made. docter, thank you all the same live beyond the frail lights that bind you and may we meet as freinds some day.
When you hear the operas singer starting too sing in Timelord Victorious that first melody was the Kickstarter for Vale Unus. Meaning: Farewell One was a piece of unreleased music only used once in twice upon a time. Hinting that that was Murray golds goodbye for the show and even Steven Moffat himself. We shall never forget the legends that came to work on Classic Who And New Who. Some Infamous. Some Famous Nonetheless they shall not be forgotten. They have come to be apart of a family that has transpired since 1963. This family is the record holder for the longest Sci-Fi Show That Has Run On Air From The Sixties Too The New Decade 2020. This show shall not leave our side. Not for a long time... Bravo Murray Gold, Russel T Davies, Steven Moffat, Karen Gillan, Freema Agyeman, Billie Piper, Katherine Tate, David Tennant, John Hurt, Matt Smith, Christopher Ecclestone.. and so many more. You will be remembered forevermore in these dark times with Chris chibnall running the show, I salute the fallen members of the doctor who show. I hope too meet you up there with so many others
I think one of the worst parts was that he was alone. When nine turned into ten, he had Rose. But this time, the doctor that made so many laugh, cry, and both at the same time was alone. I just wanted to reach out. To remind him he shouldn't travel alone. He died alone, with no one to comfort him. To tell him not to go.
It's not just nine, all of the past Doctors had someone there when they regenerated. Well, except for the 7th to the 8th, I suppose. There were surgeons, though. Anyway, it is heartbreaking that the 10th traveled with so many people, and changed so many lives, yet "died" alone.
When Nine turned into Ten, all he did was change, because Rose was there. But when he went from Ten to Eleven, there was no one for him to keep safe, so he destroyed the TARDIS with the force of the regeneration. His Time Lord body, without him being able to do anything about it, sensed that there was no one for him to protect so it tore up the TARDIS inside with no one else there to keep him company. I think this is one of the reasons that the Doctor travels with company-so that they can keep each other safe and alive.
"Pain and loss, they define us as much as happiness or love. Everything ends and everything dies, whether it's a world or a relationship." "You are not alone." "This song is ending, but the story never ends."
What I enjoyed about the timelord victorious part, was that the doctor wanted to save everyone, perhaps with some vanity and had the best in mind. His compassion and kindness robbed Adelaide of her honourable death and sacrifice. That little girl who's parents were killed by the daleks; they stole her life, and the doctor stole her death. The moral of the story is that the worst intentions or the best - can still deprive someone of their right to live and die. That's why the timelord is victorious is wrong. No one should have that much power over life and death, and ultimately destiny. No one can. Everyone's path is theirs to walk - and theirs alone.
I miss David. I also miss Matt. Never watched classics, though I might do in future. As for Christopher, haven't properly watched his episodes, as I was 6 and only knew basic things like: ‘there's a dalek,' or ‘The doctor is regenerating.' Can't wait till I get series 1 and 2 on DVD.
I would advise watching the Tom Baker (Classic Season 12-18) years. Much of Tom's performance is a silly Bohemian -- not that those parts are 'bad' -- but, in the mid-to-late parts of his tenure, some I'm-old, I'm-tired, I'm-grappling-with-universe-ending-dangers, I-am-a-universe-ending-danger-myself elements some creeping through. (cf. Invasion of Time, Logopolis) I don't like the New Who producers so much as the older Classic stuff -- but they (Davies, Moffat) are to be congratulated for taking this rarely seen I'm-a-dangerous-temperamental-ancient-demigod theme and really playing it up. Go watch S12, S13, S14, maybe S15, definitely S18, and Eccleston; you can see the gradual evolution, esp. in Eccleston's Dalek episode.
+the one random guy 1 yes, absolutely... however, I can still remember the moment when the 11th regenerated, and Amy walked up to him... "Raggedy Man... Goodnight"...
one thing that seriously ruined it was the little Amelia wasnt the real girl from the 11th hour. and their attempts to mask her face was terrible. however i do still love the final few lines 11 says before regeneration
One day. In the middle of the summer holiday, I shall find a empty week, that week shall be Doctor Who week, I shall watch all of the series back to back. Many tissues will be needed. For as enjoyable, and amazing as doctor who is, it can be dark at times, very emotional. The music couldn't be any more amazing. This music is truly beautiful and I love all of it with many tears. Thank you, England, for once we finally made something amazing. You guys are great.
NO.... NO... NO.... I HATE THIS SONG. Doomsday never makes me cry. Big day for fans of walls! But THESE themes always make me bawl like a frigging baby.... Ten's regeneration still is the saddest to date. The man who loved and regretted the most determined to wander alone and die alone.... :( :( :(..... SO very sad. He went absolutely insane after the loss of Donna. He fell so very hard down a very dark and truly terrible path and could have become the worst thing this universe had ever seen. Adelaide tried to rein him in much as Donna did and he was too drunk on his own power to realize what he was becoming. One had to wonder if that was how the Master got his beginning. Thankfully 10 snapped himself out of it and ended up sacrificing himself to save wilf. Oh man... thanks for making me bawl like an idiot now. :) :)
I love the little touches like the birds, the tardis opening... But it sent shivers up my spine when vale Decem reached its climax and you heard the glowing... I DONT WANT TO GO
+Warre Ketels If this human's comment is true, it is not a juvenile for they are of the age 58 in human years, or approximately 2,194,905,600 rels. Rusty how you doing now listen I think I know what you want you want the doctor dead but just remember just remember on every dark day of your life just remember what the doctor has went through losing companions left and right and think about it he never wanted to be a killer like your evil Dalek kind he only killed the time lords during the time war to save them from the pain that your dark and evil kind did to them. Also, you are the nice one right so why did you say Daleks are supreme eh? Anyway I have said my thing so good morning and good night!
Warre Kettels. Thank you for calling me kid, very kind of you. It may seem hard to believe but there are people who are new to the wonderful world of Dr Who and are only now learning the basics of his story.
Hello to The Rusty Dalek. My cat is very pleased that you like her. She even tried to give you a thumbs up. : ) thank you for being possibly the nicest Dalek ever.
I absolutely loved this music, especially when it was played in Waters of Mars (also my favorite episode). I just love that simple repeated note that makes you feel like something dreadful was taking place. Powerful piece for a powerful last couple of episodes in tens era
i miss having david as the doctor. he was my faviourite. so much emotion so many tears. but i guess all good things must come to an end. thank you david and you russel t davis you brilliant people for everything :)
Martha's medicine cannot heal herself. Rose is withering away into a shrivel of a flower. The Master can no longer resist to the complete power and death of the drums. The River Is Drying. The ponds have a drought. What will happen when our Doctor can't make people better anymore?
You just perfectly summarized everything I have trouble articulating when I try to explain to people why The Waters Of Mars is so great. Hat's off to that :)
1:36 Wilfred: your looking pretty scratched up 10th puts hands on face revealing healed face Wilfred: how did you do that 10th : looks at hands 10th: it’s started... My heart:💔
The man who regrets and the man who forgets. I love the juxtaposition of 10 and 11 here. 10, with his slight frown, shows the grim fate he's about confront and 11, with his mischievous smile, shows the exciting time he's about to embark upon.

When I first viewed David Tennant's portrayal of the Doctor, I loved Ten by "The Girl in the Fireplace". David hit my top five list of favorite actors in "The Family of Blood" when, near the end, in one shot on John Smith the Doctor emerged and he went back to John Smith. As a viewer you could see and feel the different souls of those characters, which takes an actor of amazing talent to do that in the same shot.
he's a coming who's coming the doctor your the doctor i know and i will always remember when the doctor was me please dont change (deep breaths and smiles)(WOOSHHHHHHH)
I started at 9th Doctor and have just finished my first season of 11th Doctor, and I can honestly say no show has made me as emotional as this one. Watching certain parts of 10's life and watching it end was the saddest thing I've seen in a LONG time.
The Doctor fucking feels. Feels! I'd never let any Doctor go! I'm still hanging on to the 9ths big ear, 11ths bow-tie, 8ths curly hair, 7ths hat, 6ths colourful clothes, 5ths vegetable , 4ths long scarf, I'm missing 3rd, 2nds flute, 1sts monocle. And my child-hood-hero I'm still crying while hugging the 10th. I miss that Doctor.
You cannot deny David was a fantastic actor with brilliant writers. Maybe it's because i grew up with him as the doctor but i can't help but believe he is the best.
I sobbed wondering why until your comments reminded me, this is so bittersweet what the Doctor does, until he does it for the last time...I don't think my heart can take it
I missed David Tennant, I loved him as the Doctor and thanks to Murray Gold, Russell T Davies and Euros Lyn - who helped to make a really good Doctor Who episode - I cried when he regenerated into Matt Smith. I didn't watch any of his episodes till Victory of the Daleks came on. They should recreate Vale Decem as "Vale Undecim" for the 11th Doctor's regeneration.
Before the next generation Pertwee, and Tom Baker, Peter Davis were my Doctors. I saw them out of order. Tom Baker was my 1st and will always be my favorite although, Chris Eccleston kicked it back in high gear! David Tennant simply amazing, and matt Smith your might was in your elegance and caring heart! Peter Capaldi, you have big shoes to fill and Pertwee is your model. Do him proud! Doctors, I salute you all. No one who wished to leave the role, has never thought of coming back at some point, ok maybe Chris!
I always tear up when ever I hear or see this because the 10th Doctor was the first doctor I ever saw and I loved every second of watching him and I remember watching this episode and then when he began saying goodbye to his companions just made me tear up because I just knew it was the end of him
David was a great Doctor, and no one can fully compare to him, but each Doctor is different. Matt Smith made his own Doctor, while still retaining the essence of the Doctor. I love them both.
Matt smith could have been a good doctor written by RTD, and Moffat could have written a good show with David Tennant, as he had for a few episodes, but... not Matt+Moffat
I completely agree with every word you said. Look at how Moffat wrote Tennant in Forest of the dead, and look at how RTD wrote Smith in the Sarah Jane adventures. It was perfect.
Different reasons. I could relate the most to the tenth doctor. I grew through a tough time in my life with David Tennant, he gave me something to hope for. I felt a comfort with him unlike any experience I ever had watching movies and television. To me he was MY Doctor. But like I said, the doctor is the doctor in all shapes and sizes. He will always care and give us the greatest gift anyone could ever give. Happiness in imagination.
I've watched every episode of Doctor Who on Netflix and I have to say I loved all of them. I can see how every regeneration can affect people like this. All I have to say is I hope that when he does eventually leave that Matt Smith goes with a bang. The whole time screaming "GERONIMO!!!!"
Don't ever leave, Christopher! You were my first, and no one will ever be as good as you! Don't ever leave, David! Seriously, you're perfect, no one can compare! Don't ever leave, Matt! You are spot on in everything you do, and if you leave, my heart will break!
Some days are special. Some days are so, so blessed. Some days, nobody dies at all. Now and then, every once in a very long while, every day in a million days, when the wind stands fair, and the Doctor comes to call... everybody lives.
I remember watching the TV movie when it was shown on the BBC first time round and feeling what you described when Sylvester McCoy regenerated into Paul McGann. Poor number eight never had a series and we never got to see him regenerate, what a real shame.
Many people forget this when we see the real doctor is a kind, compassionate person, who has a very silly side to him, and has the need to make people better. From Hartnell to Smith we see him prove to us that our Doctors are not dead, but different.
I loved 9 and i wish he had stayed a season longer because i feel he didn't show all he had to offer, i cried my eyes out when Ten left and never thought i would get over it. It was hard getting use to 11 but soon i fell in love with him. Now we have to say goodbye to 11 and its gonna hurt. I hope 12 is just as great.
it`s interesting looking at them both their faces, they seem to be a reflection of each other`s personalitys Tens fury at cruelty, injustice and manic pace trying to out run the shame of his past to Eleven`s constant battle to face his demon`s and keep under it all under control, that guilt and pain of what he`s had to do to protect those he loves.
I have to admit, I am one of those diehard Tennant fans, but I can admit that I knew it was coming, and I love Smith nearly as much as I do Tennant. I agree, it IS unfair that so many people hate Smith just because he took over Tennant's role. I'll be as sad to see Smith go in the Christmas Special as much as I did when Tennant left.
They are all the doctor. We all may have a favorite or a preferred doctor (I know I do) but they all make up for what the other ones don't have through their personalities. They are all different and special and provide a variety of doctors that everyone can relate to and fall in love with. Everyone is different, so the doctor makes himself like able to all kinds of people. My personal favorite was David Tennant, but for many d
This music makes me feel like there is a piece of me I've left behind somewhere-- a place that will always and forever be out of my reach. Maybe this part of me lives on in another universe, but here...it is lost in my past. It makes me sad, and I may be reluctant to move on from this version of myself, but the time has come for change.. *sigh*
Just casually trying to hold back the tears.....I loved all of the doctors but 11 had to be my favorite, 10 coming in a close second. Both of the actors did a fine job with constructing their contributions to being a doctor, but Matt Smith made the horrid situations more light, and airy. He gave this reassuring aura whenever he was explaining something terrible that's going to happen. David Tennant did as well, but in a different way. He sort of freaked out then came to his senses shortly after :P
the course of people who had to learn latin for 5 years: they understand the lyrics of vale decem and cant stop crying in their corner. please. take this out of my head.
The doctor 2100 years old, with another regeneration cycle may he live another 3000 years. One important thing i hope he always remembers who he used to be all of his faces.
Vale deceem actually moved me to tears. It was so sad, having Tennant leave after so much time, also having that Eccleston only stayed for one. So many people fell in love with Tennant and having him leave was heartbreaking, especially with his 'I don't want to go.' So many people will never recover from how amazing Tennant was, but there is something they haven't realized yet: Smith has stayed almost as long as Tennant has and is amazing! Yes, he's different, but its nice! Enjoy the music!!!!!!
I always rewatch the season four finale and listen to 10th doctors soundtrack. It makes me cry but it's so beautiful i love it so much. 10th will always be my favorite doctor. I miss him a lot but keep an open mind on the 50th and for the 13th doctor.
I started watching with Christopher Eccleston, and I've gone through the same cycle for the past 2 regenerations. It goes like this. 1. Sadness: Why are you leaving me like this Doctor 2. Anger: Who does this guy think he is? He's not the Doctor!! 3. Acceptance: OMG!! This guy is amazing. I hope he never goes!!! 4. Repeat step 1 onward..
He did choose to leave on his own, because he loved the job so much he didn't want to keep anyone else from having it. Besides, he's always loved to watch Doctor Who as much as he did act in it.
"I don't care who you are. The Time Lord Victorious is wrong."

I actually liked the monsters. But that stupid robot called Gadget was annoying sometimes.
Is this it my death?
I've gone too far, I've gone too far!
I think your song must end soon Doctor
This song is ending now but the story never ends
When he says "I don't want to go" I always felt it was more David saying it than the Doctor, after all he is a big Doctor Who fan.
It was, he added the line himself.
ProBaconEaterzz
Oh cool, I never realised that.
ProBaconEaterzz Er, no he didn't. Russel wrote the line.
Willspider5 Shhh enjoy the canon.
Willspider5 But yeah it was really sort of breaking fiction, because the entire team was leaving and they didn't want to go. However, David said himself that he thinks the Tenth Doctor would say that, but still, it was more of a "this era has been so good none of us want it to end"

Euranna Greenleaf As long as doctor who is on the telly, the doctor can keep running.
Euranna Greenleaf quite a moving summation for what just might have been the very best ever of DR. Who!
Truly sad, indeed.
+Euranna Greenleaf Beautiful...Just factastic.
"Fear me, I've killed hundrets of Timelords."
"Fear *me* ... I've killed all of them.
And now his Song is ending
A Melody that should never die
Even now he remains Noble
Even when the end is nigh
With many good friends made
The Immortal shall breath their last
The Rose shall wither and die
So please just make it fast
The doctor became a soldier
The Master is no more
With four knocks from gramps
The doctor opened up the door
All of reality has been saved
To the end of time the doctor came
With both his hearts broken
He shall never be the same
Who writed it ? You ? It's very good.
Yup! Thanks!

i dont think you understood what he wrote, because your answer made no sense at all.
actually it made a lot of sense...what makes no sense that you cant see it makes sense
Augusta Confidential but that's the thing. He died along physically, but mentally he wasn't alone. He had the memory of rose.
When Nine turned into Ten, all he did was change, because Rose was there. But when he went from Ten to Eleven, there was no one for him to keep safe, so he destroyed the TARDIS with the force of the regeneration. After seeing that brief glimpse of Capaldi last night I know he will be a good Doctor.
Definitely a more intense one, if that look was any indication. I've heard Moffat said he's going to be a somewhat darker doctor than Smith.
KittenyKat
I hope to god moffat takes some cues from Davies. The two of them should actually cowrite some Capaldi episodes.
tyrant351 Let Davies write the characters, Moffat makes a timey wimey plot, and hire an actual script editor to make sure it makes sense.
You've probably seen it by now, but...
He could've been much better.

I love Tennant's doctor portrayal. He seemed so perfect for the Doctor during his darker sides. matt is great in the Doctor wacky/intelligent moments

You just perfectly summarized everything I have trouble articulating when I try to explain to people why The Waters Of Mars is so great. Hat's off to that :)
How can there possibly be 34 people who don't like this video? They must be Daleks.

The man who regrets and the man who forgets. I love the juxtaposition of 10 and 11 here. 10, with his slight frown, shows the grim fate he's about confront and 11, with his mischievous smile, shows the exciting time he's about to embark upon.

Every time I hear this song or the scenes my heart brakes and I cry it’s just beautiful music and sad scenes

I cried more for 11th's thanks to the brilliant script writing, but I loved the 10th more and you can't beat this epic soundtrack.
I love how the sound effects are in Vale Decem.

Rest in peace sara jane smith
I started at 9th Doctor and have just finished my first season of 11th Doctor, and I can honestly say no show has made me as emotional as this one. Watching certain parts of 10's life and watching it end was the saddest thing I've seen in a LONG time.
I *really* didn't wanna go... :'(
The Doctor fucking feels.
The Doctor Hey, you saved Gallifrey!
Jess Caron I did?! But I thought I destroyed it...
matevenodos Dinner? With her? Even if I did play nice, she wouldn't tell.
matevenodos Ah, I guess so. Maybe a trip to the Moon in 2136 for a few drinks might loosen her up enough to spit it out. *laughs evilly in corner*
You cannot deny David was a fantastic actor with brilliant writers. Maybe it's because i grew up with him as the doctor but i can't help but believe he is the best.
"I don't wanna go :(
I sobbed wondering why until your comments reminded me, this is so bittersweet what the Doctor does, until he does it for the last time...I don't think my heart can take it
Really hope we get the One's regeneration version on the Series 10 soundtrack, whenever it releases.
I agree vale unus or if it even releases
Agreed. It's so lovely to hear somebody else say it for a change.
Vale Decem = Farvell, Ten.
;-;
They should recreate Vale Decem as "Vale Undecim" for the 11th Doctor's regeneration.
something old something new something borrowed something blue
benman6869 Describing the Doctor or a wedding?
This music is so beautiful that it makes tears come to my eyes. I love it.
I don't want to go :'(
Before the next generation Pertwee, and Tom Baker, Peter Davis were my Doctors.
Someone stab me. Latin class has caused instant translation of the second title and it's "Goodbye Ten", and let's just say that I'm sobbing now.
Anea Sylvania Your Latin class is unfortunately correct.
I always tear up when ever I hear or see this because the 10th Doctor was the first doctor I ever saw and I loved every second of watching him and I remember watching this episode and then when he began saying goodbye to his companions just made me tear up because I just knew it was the end of him
"i don't want to go"
The beauty of Doctor Who is that... Some of us can't accept the change. And that proves how great this show really is.
rip liz sladen =,[
Vale!
David was a great Doctor, and no one can fully compare to him, but each Doctor is different. Matt Smith made his own Doctor, while still retaining the essence of the Doctor. I love them both.
I wonder what would happen is Gabe Newell and Steven Moffat were in the the same room together.
They would be in the same room together
Capaldi would have no more than two seasons.
+Joe Rambo I see what you did there.
+Joe Rambo 2 seasons and 2 extra episodes
I'm not ashamed to say that I cried whilst listening to this and remembering him regenerating!
mY NAME IS sumz POWER Me neither.
I DONT CARE WHO YOU ARE THE TIME LORD VICTORIOUS IS WRONG!
"that's for me to decide"

Wilfred: "Where are you going?..."

both these songs are sung by a man. Just sayin'
Mark Chambers, what a legend. :3
10's Stare and 11's confident smile. Both looks tell the beholder that this man has seen more than his share of love, loss, and disaster.
I've watched every episode of Doctor Who on Netflix and I have to say I loved all of them. I can see how every regeneration can affect people like this. All I have to say is I hope that when he does eventually leave that Matt Smith goes with a bang. The whole time screaming "GERONIMO!!!!"
10 forever! god rest his soul :'(
Don't ever leave, Christopher!
You are right. Tennant lost so many companions, but kept living his life. However he did not forget any of them.
Wow, just Wow, this music is spectacular and haunting. It brings back all the emotions from the last days of the tenth Doctor. :'( Yes I'm crying.
Who doesn't get at least a little depressed to see a great Doctor go away? Especially when Tennant left. I'm not too manly to admit that I cried.
Can't agree more. I love the unfiltered emotions of ten, but eleven has his own way, delivering all these deep feelings.
I cried when my favorite doctor died then regenerated
This music makes me feel like there is a piece of me I've left behind somewhere-- a place that will always and forever be out of my reach. Maybe this part of me lives on in another universe, but here...it is lost in my past. It makes me sad, and I may be reluctant to move on from this version of myself, but the time has come for change.. *sigh*
He only did one series, there wouldn't be so many memorable stuff to look back to as the 9th Doctor.
first part was also in Waters of Mars. that episode was already emotionally powerful and with this music... god....
You've made me cry. Thank You.
Beautiful........I am here crying right now, too sad for words :'(
Perfect combo. Tingles all over
Vale deceem actually moved me to tears.
1. Sadness: Why are you leaving me like this Doctor
