I actually got fit for this shaft and I play them now. I’m the high spin player you were looking for. On GCQuad the shaft lowered my spin rate by about 400 rpm. I play them in the T100S model and they work great for me. I’m a +3 handicap and these clubs really took me to the next level. I’m glad this video justified my purchase.

I was recently fitted for the shafts and I absolutely love them. As a play swinging my irons between 90 and 95 mph. This shaft enabled me to be fitted into a players distance iron (APEX Pro) but keep the spin down on those hollow body irons. So I am now able to benefit from the forgiveness that the hollow irons provide without suffering from the enhanced flight and spin that they also provide. I feel completely confident in this set up in my ball and dispersion rate shrunk exponentially with this pairing.
Haha if you are looking for a guy who struggles with high spin...look no further. I hit it about the same speed as Ian and my ball is affected by the wind far more than anyone I know. A 30 km headwind is a 3 club wind for me. Some of my buddies who hit it the same distances rarely ever have to drop more than 1 club. These shafts may help me. Thanks for the info!
I went and got fitted into a driver yesterday, sim head, fujikura pro 2.0 tour spec 6x. I have never swung a smoother driver shaft. Im around 108 on average club head speed, and that shaft was incredible!

This shaft is a great addition to the True Temper/ Project X Family! Very interested to see Ian get to work with this shaft for a high spin player. Also, more iron shaft companies need to rip up the design book more often, because the innovation that comes from it is amazing!
Just keeps showing the value of a proper fitting and being open to change. amazing how much difference a shift can make. Went for a new fitting a couple days ago and results are eye opening.
I feel like I might be a perfect candidate for Ian to use a tester for knocking spin off with the LS. Playing PX7.0 and in my last round hit a knock down PW 130y in the air, but spun back 10 yards
I was just fit for P7MCs and this exact shaft. I create a lot of pinch on the ball and create a lot of spin. Always loved dropping a 4ir into a firm green with almost no roll for my dad and uncles - they got a kick out of it. But it gets silly in the lower ranges. On the Trackman, I think the shaft shaved off 300-500rpm and produced a wonderful flight and perfect landing angle. Shots feel incredible.
Saw the video title and thought "hmm i wonder if i generally would fit into this" Plays a low spin Ball CHECK Plays a stronger lofted iron CHECK CHECK Has a balloony (is that a word? like traj?) ball flight TRIPLE CHECK! Real eye opening especially in regards to the dispersion. Agree that a golfer wouldn't see a dramatic difference in spin / launch but i would think if the flight and feel is matched up with the golfers profile, it should increase a golfers confidence, which would turn into better shots. Interesting if you take the extreme, lowest spinning ball, that shaft and low lofted irons and see the results with the golfer that fits the profile True Temper is marketing this to. Great content to spur on conversation. Keep the train going, 100K is almost there. Next up 200K!
Played ctapers 130 for a year and just switched to the px ls 7.0. What I love about these shafts is that even though they are firm and stable (aka boardy), you can still feel what's going on at the tip. Unlike the ctapers that just felt all around dead.

I've got these in 6.5's in my P7MB's and love them. They're so consistent and the flights are knocked down slightly from my previous c taper lite x 115.
I like the theory that even iron is unique to provide a certain function. I think this is demonstrated in how popular combo sets have become the last decade.
Just got fitted for this shaft and literally shaved 3500 rpm off my iron game. Went from 8k rpm to around 4,500-4,600 rpm. Gained 30 yards on my irons!
Would love to see this LS vs the CTaper 130x! I’m the guy that spinning my 6 iron at 6500-7000! Obviously a selfish ask..haha. Love what you guys are doing as always.

Hey TXG, I just got these in my new clubs and I struggle with excess spin and they have helped me gain control over that spin. It brought it down while still being able to spin it when I want.
The shaft wall at TXG and fitting matrix keeps increasing. i.e. Get fitted, we have a shaft/head combination that will work for you and your game. Well done TXG.
I think that's a shaft I may have to try. My fitter put me into the Tour V to try and lower my spin and launch. As a sweeper/picker I have no problem adding dynamic loft to an iron and it naturally makes the spin and launch a bit high.
I have them on MP-20 HMBs & love the performance as well. The orange dot drives me bonkers though. Planning on getting some stickers to cover those up.

Played PX 6.0 and switched to LZ same specs. I fly ball high from what I am told ( 6 i looks like PW height) but LZ feels nice when I load it. Have a very aggressive transition and might look into the 6.0 LS to drop height

Ian, have you ever considered mimicking these irons but fitting someone with a softer tip in the long irons (5 and 6) like the Modus 130 and then a stiffer tip in the low irons (9, PW) like the Project X 7.0?
I just ordered one in Mizuno Pro 225, 2-iron at standard loft and lie. Wanted something stable for this low of a loft and I am pretty much going to use it off tee box for tighter lies anyways.
I went for my first ever iron fitting last week. First shaft I tried was DGS300, with a Srixon Z785 head. And was averaging 9400 spin with the 7 iron... Eventually settled on the Z785, in the KBS $taper. That was the only shaft that I managed to spin at sub 8000 on average. Was spinning my own Callaway Apex cf16 in project x 6.0 over 8000. Is that the high spin you mean? I’d pop by but I’m in Nottingham England 😆.

I play AMT White x100 iron shafts with good results. I was fit to these using the Mizuno shaft optimizer because there aren't club fitters in my area. What shaft would be a good blend for a utility/driving iron?
I'm a prime candidate for high launch high spin, having just walked in from a trackman session it's more about changing the delivery for me as i found x100 went higher than most other shafts, this game is always a work in progress...sigh

106 mph club head speed with my 7i and am struggling to find these raw anywhere. Where can I find these or something else to combat my 9000 rpm spin rate and 180 ft apex with my 7i. Currently in the C-Taper lite XS. If these really are back ordered two months, I need something else to play.
So why is Matt a low spin player if his speed is so high and he hits down on his irons more so than average pga player. If anything, he would seem like he should be a high spin player. Any thoughts on why this is?
Can the Modus 130 x be too soft for anyone? Got these in my irons, dispersion in PW is terrible compared to the S400 in my GW and only gets worse as the irons get longer. 6 iron SS is 100-105mph.

Got them 6.5 125 in my new ZX5 mk2 the head (loft) and the shaft combo scrubbed easy 400revs and gain 3mph ball speed

the extreme importance of a player using the right shaft is more important than clubhead design in irons.

The Project X LS shaft looked to deliver a more tight repeatable flight than the 7.0 - but not more so than Shaft X
Probably due to Mat's smooth transition. The LS is designed more aggressive swingers...

You described the LS as being flighted due to tipping - long irons vs. wedges or short irons. Wouldn't that be true of any iron shaft?

So why is Matt a low spin player if his speed is so high and he hits down on his irons more so than average pga player. If anything, he would seem like he should be a high spin player. Any thoughts on why this is?

Can the Modus 130 x be too soft for anyone? Got these in my irons, dispersion in PW is terrible compared to the S400 in my GW and only gets worse as the irons get longer. 6 iron SS is 100-105mph.
Modus 130 is a softer tip profile for sure

Why not weaken matts lofts 2 degrees and rock the LS. Now u have modus 130 spin rate and launch as well as the LS ball speed and dispersion
