It’s almost revolutionary in the club building world that technique is included in the variables you have to consider. Matt’s approach is so much better than just focusing on a sale. Makes him instantly more trustworthy than other fitters.
Matt - I’m so impressed with the quality of the content.. this new platform was a fantastic move. I absolutely love your approach; simple but so effective. Keep up the good work!
Thanks Matt! Probably saved me $500+ on reshafting my irons because I did not know they don't make that much of a difference. Despite swinging my 7 iron (34 deg) at ~100mph, I was getting ballooning 8,000 rpm shots that only carried 170 yd. After switching to a Bridgestone Tour B RX, I'm already getting almost 10 yd extra carry. Now I just gotta work on my technique!
Great video. Amazing swing. I suggest to add the less loft, less spin ball, and swing technique all together for the ultimatum. Then, make a title how to lower your spin by 2,000 rpm. Such a catch title I hope will attract more viewers.
Thanks Matt, it is very straightforward and honest on your part even if this not your commercial interest. If I had knew this maybe I would had saved over 1,000$ ( fitting + shafts Accra + grips ) fall 2022 in the Toronto Scarsdale road 😼 By the way I sold my entire refitted by you x-friends fitter ….Ping G-425 for less than 400$
Great content, Matt! Proper ball selection is so underrated to get optimum launch and spin numbers for golfers of all skill levels as you showed...and also doesn't necessarily mean one would need to purchase the most expensive ball either. Keep up the great work!
Awesome video Matt. Been watching you since your days at TXG. Nice to see the 700 rpm difference between the V1 and the X. I’ll be changing into the X ball next year for this reason. Need that extra spin on my irons and wedges in order to increase my landing angle.
Love the video! Would you be able to do a video on proper fitting in terms of lie and length? I see a ton of variation on guidelines and wonder why that is
Glad to see you doing your own thing Matt. Can you do a video on how to lower launch and ball flight with wedges? I feel like no matter how hard I swing my 54 will barely go 95 yards and just goes up. Thanks
Really well explained. Opening of the video was a little quick and didn’t bring the viewer into the video easily. Just a small critique. Love the content Matt.
If you are someone whos game will improve by 10 strokes within a month or two just by getting warmed up for the season, working through swing mild swing changes, would you recommend not getting a custom fit until peak of the season to truly dial in the bag?
Hi Matt love the new content. I'm the completely the other way round. I've lost some speed so struggling for height. I have stronger lofted irons and at a recent fitting they suggested a lighter shaft. This gave me a LITTLE more height but messed up my dispersion. Do you think weakening the lofts (Srixon Mkii ZX4/5 combo0 would mess with the bounce angles. I play in the UK so soft conditions most of the year. I'm off to try and swap my stock of Pov1's for something with a X in the title.
I have the low spin problem with my irons and fairway woods. I use pxg gen 4 311p irons which are low spin. I have tried kirkland balls to bring up my spin which it does but not enough. My spin with 7 iron rarely goes over 4000rpm.with tp5x and will hit 4500 max with kirkland, Fairways are the same. get 1800-2400 spin with them
I was hoping you’d show avx. I always enjoy hitting them if I find one and I swear they fly off of the irons. I play tour bx but am always curious if playing one of the softer versions might give me a similar feeling.
AVX is much lower spin than a Pro V1! If you really want to see what a low spin ball can do, I would suggest trying the Bridgestone Tour B RX. Those things absolutely fly off irons without losing a ton off the tee.
What if you need more launch & spin? I use MP225 iron’s and I like them but they launch low and do not spin well enough to hold most greens at my home course!
Looks like a good flight, if you wanted to hit it farther you could probably get away with a slightly lower spin ball. But this is pretty balanced overall
I am a student of Ralph Maltby. You are so so wrong about changing shaft. Profile, weight and stiffness all factor in how a particular golfer strikes the ball. I've witnessed professional golfer fittings where the golfer picked up as much as 20 yards by changing shafts hitting the same ball with the same head.
Might be a really stupid question, but does one really need a certain spin? In my small mind, I’m thinking as long as the peak height is good (yours were almost the same after switching static loft) you should be fine, and what distance you hit with your iron dosent matter aslong as one does have good gaping and consistant strike pattern/distance control.
It’s almost revolutionary in the club building world that technique is included in the variables you have to consider. Matt’s approach is so much better than just focusing on a sale. Makes him instantly more trustworthy than other fitters.
You are like an honest mechanic for golfers!
💯

Keep up the good work!
No crazy intros, bs clickbait title, or fluff, just hard scientific data explained for the masses. Wonderful.
This is honestly one of the most informative golf videos I've ever seen. I'm reconsidering my golf ball purchases
Thanks Matt! Probably saved me $500+ on reshafting my irons because I did not know they don't make that much of a difference.

Good job explaining factors that affect ball flight much more than shafts
Thanks Matt, it is very straightforward and honest on your part even if this not your commercial interest.

Hell yah Matt! One of my favorite things to talk about with students is dynamic loft and how to change it for the better. Wonderfully put.
Excellent series of videos you’ve been posting. Absolutely loving the content.
Great video, would be interesting to see something similar for those who need more spin and launch.
Really great content Matt! Thank you for the reasonable, thorough and thoughtful presentation.
Such a great video, love the 'honest mechanic' approach you take.
Great content, Matt! Proper ball selection is so underrated to get optimum launch and spin numbers for golfers of all skill levels as you showed...and also doesn't necessarily mean one would need to purchase the most expensive ball either. Keep up the great work!
Love these kind of scientific experiment videos. Helps my game a lot by at least understanding how things connect
Thank you for picking up where TXG leftoff. The content we've missed! 🎉
Great content Matt! Keep up the great work! I need to break out The Hanger and add it into my off season practice sessions
I own that hanger thing....and I have some flipp issues. Time to get to work and improve this winter. Great video Matt.
Awesome content, Matty. Love your perspective and the new studio looks fantastic
Awesome video Matt. Been watching you since your days at TXG. Nice to see the 700 rpm difference between the V1 and the X. I’ll be changing into the X ball next year for this reason. Need that extra spin on my irons and wedges in order to increase my landing angle.
Fantastic video… quality content Matt
loving the vids bud! keep them coming
Great content. Thanks 🙏
fire content, i would love to see fittings for every typical type of golfer. awesome job
Good work as always…thank you
I'm here for this scientific, evidence-based golf content. Such valuable information! Thanks so much!
Love the video! Would you be able to do a video on proper fitting in terms of lie and length? I see a ton of variation on guidelines and wonder why that is
Production quality is awesome
Glad to see you doing your own thing Matt. Can you do a video on how to lower launch and ball flight with wedges? I feel like no matter how hard I swing my 54 will barely go 95 yards and just goes up. Thanks
Incredible. Makes too much sense. 🐐
I switched from a Kirkland to a vice pro because I was hitting really low and it definitely made a noticeable difference
Even for people that knew all this, it’s still a fantastic video
Really well explained. Opening of the video was a little quick and didn’t bring the viewer into the video easily. Just a small critique. Love the content Matt.
Love this
Superb 👌
Thanks!

Yes try weakening the lofts, a degree or two isn’t going to affect bounce enough to be an issue
🐐

Would taking the opposite steps help with producing more spin?
I was hoping you’d show avx. I always enjoy hitting them if I find one and I swear they fly off of the irons. I play tour bx but am always curious if playing one of the softer versions might give me a similar feeling.
AVX would spin another 800rpm or so less than ProV1 under these conditions

I used to play chrome soft regular too. I know you lose something off of the tee but idk if I care. Nice video, Matt.
What about a low trajectory vs high trajectory shaft in the same flex and model?
What if you need more launch & spin? I use MP225 iron’s and I like them but they launch low and do not spin well enough to hold most greens at my home course!
Hi. Great vid. What would you consider low spin premium balls.
AVX, prov1, TP5x, z-star XV, B-X
@@GolfLiberty chrome soft LS?
My 7 iron, carry 165yd, ss 84.8, ball speed 119.2, launch angle 19.2. Smash factor 1.41, apex 105.7, spin 6500. using p790 gen 3, shaft Dynamic Gold 120 x100 (120g). Should i change the shaft / ball ? Thankyou
Looks like a good flight, if you wanted to hit it farther you could probably get away with a slightly lower spin ball. But this is pretty balanced overall
Any thoughts on the new "ai" putters from odyssey Matt?
haven't seen/tested yet, didn't get the invite to the launch event 😂
How is 7500 rpm bad on a 7 iron. That’s four average is it not?
I'm the opposite dang ball only goes about 30ft in the air.
Changing the loft… it is no more a 7 iron… ??
Yes if you play @iron 7 T-350 Titleist
It's not the arrow, it's the Indian.
An Indian wouldn’t go hunt deer with a fishing rod
There are also different types of arrows used by different archers based on ability
There’s a difference in making something work and optimizing
I can guarantee you the arrow makes a difference.

descent angle is technically more important than a certain spin rate, if we have (around) 45º of landing angle the ball is going to stop pretty well
@@GolfLiberty Makes sense, thanks!
