So many sellers will put up videos on RUclips that draw a lot of traffic and views because they talk about how much they’ve made on Etsy but when you see their final results of take home compared to what they actually made “FOR Etsy“ it is beyond staggering; and I would imagine that their bottom line, as low as it is, is still before they’ve paid taxes. If only someone could come up with other platforms so people could get more reasonable charges. This video is so helpful. Thank you!

And just about 2 hours ago, I was saying to myself as I'm pouring coffee at 10:38pm, "Why is there not an Etsy Checklist? I'm a visual learner..." yada yada "I need to see a Step by Step Checklist..." And then went on YT looking for How to CREATE an Etsy listing.... And here we are. Sorry bout that.😳) Although I kept getting distracted with this 15 oz mug template I bought (there doesn't seem to be a clear-cut answer on what the actual dimensions are). If Personalized... when you get an order on Etsy, I duplicate the original item in Printify, make any changes to the design and details (add the order # to the title) and "SAVE AS DRAFT". Then, go to orders (you will often find it in "other orders" if the listing is not linked) Replace the item with your new design and fulfill!

I have followed this tutorial to the tee as it was so helpful and sold my first shirt, HOWEVER there is a BIG PROBLEM in this tutorial. And because of following every step exactly and creating listings that way I spent 3 hours with Printify customer services on the chat to fix an issue, so be careful. This tutorial says to push the product to Etsy as a DRAFT (by publishing it as HIDDEN on Printify) and then change title, description etc in Etsy... (sounds like a great idea at first... ) BUT what that seems to do is it disconnects your product from AUTOMATIC FUllFILLMENT by Printify, that means you have to fullfill the orders manually when something comes through. Changing title, descritption etc in Etsy disconnects the product from printify, it will be moved to a different folder and not handled automatically. Big issue when you have lots of orders coming through and you want to make the process as automated as possible.

This is GOLD!!!! OMG! NO ONE and I mean NO ONE is as detailed as you where this is concerned (caps on purpose). As I lost my job as a pilot due to the global Covid19 Pandemic, I turned to designing to help me to relax and cope, so I taught myself how to design and then I created a shop on Redbubble to get my feet wet and now I'm ready to expand to Etsy. I was looking around on RUclips for a step by step process as well as an explanation of the Notorious Etsy Fees that I have been reading and hearing about, so once again, thank you. I have a store already since they send me shipping labels and seem to track the shipping, I am not sure if I should set up printify for eBay to sell print on demand or digital prints.
@@whutsy Thank you. I set up printify, added EBay as store, uploaded a t shirt design I had made previously. Then 2 things happened. 1. A box came up asking if I was ready to add to my Shopify store (which I never added in printify) and 2. A red box came up and said there was an error with publishing when I tried to send to eBay. So I am trying to figure it all out and will contact them if it doesn’t clear up.
I have a question regarding the variations that you where is showing in this video. Towards the end of the video you added the zodiac sign variations but wouldn’t each zodiac sign need to be a separate product in printify? For example… I sell zodiac sign T-shirts so wouldn’t each zodiac sign need to be a separate product in printify and therefore a separate listing on Etsy?
Hello, I do not know why when I want to public my product it gives me error and says they cannot publish this product and please try again...I tried 4 times...
I've gotten this error before too... it seems to me to be temporary and coming back another time I usually find it works. Other times it's been my internet connection or Printify is doing maintenance on their end. Hope you got it working! Reaching out to Printify support can be helpful (though slow at times!)

Printify has made quite a few changes since I made this video, time for an updated version for sure! Try reaching out to Printify support directly, they might be able to walk you through it :)

Hello, sorry but when I publish my product even thought I have connected my shop on printing when I'm going to Etsy there isn't anything and if I press to manage my shop I had to take pictures of the product etc any solution, please?
If you followed my steps in the video, it should be in your Listings Drafts folder. Refresh your browser, if needed. It doesn't appear instantly, it takes time and that time can vary. If you still think there is an issue, reach out to Printify support through their chat box when logged in. They are very helpful too!
Why did none of the photos in the mockup for my product show up for my etsy listing? You said they would automatically be pushed to our etsy account, but it did not.
Thanks for the question! You will want to contact Printify support, they can help you with this. Most likely, it's either a bug (so redo) or you need to wait.
The only thing I really wanted to know and is not in either video is how you fulfill an order. I have a T-shirt listed and would I need to submit the order manually or would it do it for me automatically?

Feedback is very important and if we ever implement this feature, you'll be able to read about it in our newsletter so look out for those''
@@Nabileuuh Thanks for reporting back about this! Must be a bug, hopefully they will fix it soon. Best work-around would be to publish, than go to your Etsy Listings and "Deactivate", then edit it as needed. You will get charged that .20 cent fee but if you won't have to pay it again when you do publish it again within the original 3 month listing period.
Hi I have a question about the location address , I'm living in Europe so the close production partner for me is in Germany but when I try to put the location on Etsy that location is not in the list can I just put Germany and do not fill city and state? Thanks for the video.

Thanks for the question! For Etsy offsite ads, absolutely. For those transactions, Etsy takes 12% or 15% of the order total. It's very easy to loose money on these if you aren't calculating your pricing correctly. Though typically, not a lot of transactions come through offsite ads. But I don't like to take that chance whenever Etsy decides to promote one of my listings!
Thank you for your detailed video. I have a publishing problem. My Etsy is already opened but somehow the status on Printify is "published and publishing error". Do you know what could go wrong? I have tried to contact both platforms, but their advice didn't resolve my issues.
I would try duplicating the product in Printify, then open the new item and check the "Save to Drafts" button. Then Publish to Etsy. Wait a 10 minutes or so. If you still get an error, I would disconnect Printify in Etsy Seller Dashboard: Integrations -> Manage. Then go back into Printify and reconnect the Etsy shop and try again. Hope this helps! If I edit the description, prices in Etsy, it won’t affect the linkage with printify? But then if you don’t make the relevant changes on printify then you would have 2 different versions to confuse yourself? What’s the recommended steps to do
@@Emorine You can change whatever you want in Etsy. That is what the customer will see so that's the most important! When they order that listing, the order goes to Printify, you pay for the order and they fulfill it with whatever item you select, synced or not, you can always change it. The only thing that is important for the order in Printify is the item and artwork are correct so they can fulfill it and send it to your customer :) Hope that makes sense!
Hi! Not sure if you are still looking at comments from this but I followed everything but I feel like we didn't fully finish. After I publish the listing on Etsy, I went to Printify and my listing is still "hidden in store" but it's published. Is there any cause for concern?
Hi, I’m experiencing a problem. I don’t have an option to select to add a product from my printify to Etsy under product visibility. I’ve added my Etsy store and my product is published but I can’t see it in Etsy. I can see my published products from printify in my profile but that’s it
It should appear in your Drafts in your Listings on Etsy. This often takes several minutes and you will need to refresh Etsy to see them. Sometimes it's an Etsy glitch. If you still don't see them, I would recommend reaching out to Printify support through their chat feature!
hey, I have a question. So, I did my mock up logo on canvas and uploaded on printify and the resolution seems too low for it. Now, is that like my laptop or is it because I don't have pro with canvas?
Thanks for watching! You will want to start off with a larger template. In the Canva homepage, click "Create Design" and do "Custom Size" and make it larger to start with, no need to upgrade to do that ;)

Yup! You can just add your other store (be sure you are logged into the right shop first) In Printify, click the little dropdown arrow in the top-right, click "Manage My Stores". Then the button "Add New Store" will get you on your way!
I have the opposite problem. I need to delete the default "My New Store" that Printify provides. Somehow Printify didn't delete the "My New Store" option, when I added my Etsy store, and I've found products ending up as inventory in the generic store some of the time!@@whutsy
So once you have that whole Etsy listing set up and published can I just duplicate that etsy listing in etsy, add a new design and get that new listing to connect to printify somehow? Because now all your settings are exactly how you want only on the etsy side? It would be much faster to do it that way. How do you go about doing that and have printify recognize to new listing in which you duplicated in etsy?
Great idea! And I do exactly this in my shops too! Printify will bring in all your orders and anything not connected will be found in the "Other Orders" tab

Hmm... when this happens to me (either on Prinitfy or Etsy) it's usally temporary and coming back another time I find it works in most cases. Thanks for watching! This is how Printify works.... A customer orders the mug from you, you complete the order in Printify, Printify send the customer the mug.

Super thorough, thank you! So I have a journal design with different color variants and variants for the title. Do I need to make a separate listing for each color variant AND the title variant or is there a way to add the different variants to each listing on Printify? I've heard there is a Prices and Variant section at the top right hand corner but it only lists the pricing variant. Also, if I do need to make each listing separately, how does Printify know which variant to choose from, would I have to manually create the order?
Great questions! The best way to deal with color variants the way you are talking is to add the variants to your listing in Etsy. Then, when you make a sale, you can edit the order in Printify to make sure the correct color is selected before fulfilling.
Is there a way to connect an existing listing on Etsy to Printify? I was hoping to not have to delete the item on Etsy and have Printify fulfil. I know I can send a list to Etsy from Printify.
Great question! You can only do this after an order comes in on an Etsy listing that you want to connect with Printify... Once the order is placed, log into Printify and find the order. Then follow the steps to connect the listing. In my videos, I do this step manually every time as a way of confirming, but this can be set up to be automatically fulfilled in your Printify settings.

With t-shirts, there are so many variants - sizes, colors, etc. Because of this, it's very complex and something I personally don't sell t-shirts in my shops because of it.

I have followed this tutorial to the tee as it was so helpful and sold my first shirt, HOWEVER there is a BIG PROBLEM in this tutorial. And because of following every step exactly and creating listings that way I spent 3 hours with Printify customer services on the chat to fix an issue, so be careful. This tutorial says to push the product to Etsy as a DRAFT (by publishing it as HIDDEN on Printify) and then change title, description etc in Etsy... (sounds like a great idea at first... ) BUT what that seems to do is it disconnects your product from AUTOMATIC FUllFILLMENT by Printify, that means you have to fullfill the orders manually when something comes through. Changing title, descritption etc in Etsy disconnects the product from printify, it will be moved to a different folder and not handled automatically. Big issue when you have lots of orders coming through and you want to make the process as automated as possible.

This is GOLD!!!! OMG! NO ONE and I mean NO ONE is as detailed as you where this is concerned (caps on purpose). As I lost my job as a pilot due to the global Covid19 Pandemic, I turned to designing to help me to relax and cope, so I taught myself how to design and then I created a shop on Redbubble to get my feet wet and now I'm ready to expand to Etsy.

What I would like to know (maybe you have another video, I will look) can I sell print on demand and also digital prints on ebay? I have a store already since they send me shipping labels and seem to track the shipping, I am not sure if I should set up printify for eBay to sell print on demand or digital prints.
Great question! Absolutely, Printify has an integration with eBay. I am not an expert on it, at all, but worth looking into if you already know eBay.
@@whutsy Thank you. I set up printify, added EBay as store, uploaded a t shirt design I had made previously. Then 2 things happened. 1. A box came up asking if I was ready to add to my Shopify store (which I never added in printify) and 2. A red box came up and said there was an error with publishing when I tried to send to eBay. So I am trying to figure it all out and will contact them if it doesn’t clear up.

I have a question regarding the variations that you where is showing in this video. Towards the end of the video you added the zodiac sign variations but wouldn’t each zodiac sign need to be a separate product in printify? For example… I sell zodiac sign T-shirts so wouldn’t each zodiac sign need to be a separate product in printify and therefore a separate listing on Etsy?

Hello, I do not know why when I want to public my product it gives me error and says they cannot publish this product and please try again...I tried 4 times...
I've gotten this error before too... it seems to me to be temporary and coming back another time I usually find it works. Other times it's been my internet connection or Printify is doing maintenance on their end. Hope you got it working! Reaching out to Printify support can be helpful (though slow at times!)

Hello, sorry but when I publish my product even thought I have connected my shop on printing when I'm going to Etsy there isn't anything and if I press to manage my shop I had to take pictures of the product etc any solution, please?
If you followed my steps in the video, it should be in your Listings Drafts folder. Refresh your browser, if needed. It doesn't appear instantly, it takes time and that time can vary. If you still think there is an issue, reach out to Printify support through their chat box when logged in. They are very helpful too!
Why did none of the photos in the mockup for my product show up for my etsy listing? You said they would automatically be pushed to our etsy account, but it did not.

I have thicked the ''Hide in Store'' option and still got charged the ''Listing fees'' on Etsy. I don't know how to upload my product as a ''draft'' from Printify!

Best work-around would be to publish, than go to your Etsy Listings and "Deactivate", then edit it as needed. You will get charged that .20 cent fee but if you won't have to pay it again when you do publish it again within the original 3 month listing period.

I remember in your video you mentioned how every purchase would come to you and you have to verify/edit each purchase through printify prior to the product being made/shipped. How do I change that in the settings so I know I can edit each personalized item when the order is placed?
I realized I haven't made the next video for this series, so I will have to do that.
Quick step-by-step... If Personalized... when you get an order on Etsy, I duplicate the original item in Printify, make any changes to the design and details (add the order # to the title) and "SAVE AS DRAFT". Then, go to orders (you will often find it in "other orders" if the listing is not linked) Replace the item with your new design and fulfill!
Is it possible that you could lose $ on an ad click transaction fee from an etsy ad campain even if you- calculate ahead, is it a gamble?
Thanks for the question! For Etsy offsite ads, absolutely. For those transactions, Etsy takes 12% or 15% of the order total. It's very easy to loose money on these if you aren't calculating your pricing correctly. Though typically, not a lot of transactions come through offsite ads. But I don't like to take that chance whenever Etsy decides to promote one of my listings!

Is there a way to sync my current active existing listings on etsy to printify?
Thank you for your detailed video. I have a publishing problem. My Etsy is already opened but somehow the status on Printify is "published and publishing error". Do you know what could go wrong? I have tried to contact both platforms, but their advice didn't resolve my issues.
I would try duplicating the product in Printify, then open the new item and check the "Save to Drafts" button. Then Publish to Etsy. Wait a 10 minutes or so. If you still get an error, I would disconnect Printify in Etsy Seller Dashboard: Integrations -> Manage. Then go back into Printify and reconnect the Etsy shop and try again. Hope this helps! @@Emorine You can change whatever you want in Etsy. That is what the customer will see so that's the most important! When they order that listing, the order goes to Printify, you pay for the order and they fulfill it with whatever item you select, synced or not, you can always change it. The only thing that is important for the order in Printify is the item and artwork are correct so they can fulfill it and send it to your customer :) Hope that makes sense!

Hi, I’m experiencing a problem. I don’t have an option to select to add a product from my printify to Etsy under product visibility. I’ve added my Etsy store and my product is published but I can’t see it in Etsy. I can see my published products from printify in my profile but that’s it
It should appear in your Drafts in your Listings on Etsy. This often takes several minutes and you will need to refresh Etsy to see them. Sometimes it's an Etsy glitch. If you still don't see them, I would recommend reaching out to Printify support through their chat feature!
hey, I have a question. So, I did my mock up logo on canvas and uploaded on printify and the resolution seems too low for it. Now, is that like my laptop or is it because I don't have pro with canvas?
Thanks for watching! You will want to start off with a larger template. In the Canva homepage, click "Create Design" and do "Custom Size" and make it larger to start with, no need to upgrade to do that ;)

Yup! You can just add your other store (be sure you are logged into the right shop first)
In Printify, click the little dropdown arrow in the top-right, click "Manage My Stores". Then the button "Add New Store" will get you on your way!
I have the opposite problem. I need to delete the default "My New Store" that Printify provides. Somehow Printify didn't delete the "My New Store" option, when I added my Etsy store, and I've found products ending up as inventory in the generic store some of the time!@@whutsy
So once you have that whole Etsy listing set up and published can I just duplicate that etsy listing in etsy, add a new design and get that new listing to connect to printify somehow? Because now all your settings are exactly how you want only on the etsy side? It would be much faster to do it that way. How do you go about doing that and have printify recognize to new listing in which you duplicated in etsy?
Great idea! And I do exactly this in my shops too! Printify will bring in all your orders and anything not connected will be found in the "Other Orders" tab

Thanks for watching! This is how Printify works.... A customer orders the mug from you, you complete the order in Printify, Printify send the customer the mug.

So I have a journal design with different color variants and variants for the title. Do I need to make a separate listing for each color variant AND the title variant or is there a way to add the different variants to each listing on Printify? I've heard there is a Prices and Variant section at the top right hand corner but it only lists the pricing variant. Also, if I do need to make each listing separately, how does Printify know which variant to choose from, would I have to manually create the order?
Great questions! The best way to deal with color variants the way you are talking is to add the variants to your listing in Etsy. Then, when you make a sale, you can edit the order in Printify to make sure the correct color is selected before fulfilling.

Great question! You can only do this after an order comes in on an Etsy listing that you want to connect with Printify... Once the order is placed, log into Printify and find the order. Then follow the steps to connect the listing. In my videos, I do this step manually every time as a way of confirming, but this can be set up to be automatically fulfilled in your Printify settings.

With t-shirts, there are so many variants - sizes, colors, etc. Because of this, it's very complex and something I personally don't sell t-shirts in my shops because of it.
