    Very informative video. I was looking on how to customize t-shirt for personal use, and I stumbled to your video. I am retired US military, and became world traveler/cruiser. I seriously considering doing this POD business for fun and side hustle. I'll register my DBA, get my EIN, open business checking, and apply for Chase business Ink so I can also earn my miles/points. I'll consider doing your course. Again, thank you!

I note you said you have no return policy - in UK and EU we have to allow returns within 14 days of receipt of items unless they are personalised. Is there a way of just selling the USA if that returns policy doesn’t apply there? How does it work selling to UK if choosing a supplier from USA (postage to UK is prohibitive), but then how does it work the other way around? Can you upload the design twice - once to a USA supplier and once to a UK supplier?

    I have a question about the thumbnail/primary mockup photo - I’ve read that Etsy requires it to be either a photo of the actual (already produced) product, OR a photo supplied by the manufacturer of the product. Word on the street is that some Etsy stores are being suspended because of mockup photos made using websites like PlaceIt. What do you know about that?

    • @hannahebeling

      You need to make sure that any mockup you use is representing the product as close as possible and you will be fine. I also like to include those product mockups from printify in the listing as well since they give the truest representation of the color and placement.

    Fantastic video Hannah! Can you do this A-Z for Amazon Merch as well. I'm just getting started and so many videos are focused on Etsy. I would really just like a workflow for merch without getting side tracked with so many references to other platforms. I feel like for newbies this is one of the biggest obstacles. Trying to just focus without all the distractions of thinking they need to be on multiple marketplaces. @hannahebeling  5 месяцев назад +12

      Actually the exact design I used for my items on printify is what I uploaded to Placeit. It’s possible in the past this was an issue, but I’ve never had a problem using the same pixel size designs. Hope that helps!

    • @jclyde6543
      @jclyde6543 5 месяцев назад +10

      @@hannahebeling Thank you for your reply. The design you downloaded was 4500 X 5625 px, yet Placeit requires an image of 750 X 1200 px. What voodoo are you using to make that image fit those requirements? It makes no sense that it's seamless and automatic. Anytime I've tried to do the same with my high pixel designs, Placeit says my file is too large (duh!). Sorry for playing the dumb guy, but you seem to be implying that it "just works" for you without modifications to the original image which is, again, apparently too large for downloading to Placeit. I wouldn't blame you if you ignored this reply because I just may have some sort of logic block in my brain since none of your fellow creators address this issue as if it's inconsequential. My fix would be to convert the png to jpg which is easy to do in any image generator, or just download the original design in both png and jpg so the jpg could be used in Placeit. If you have the time and can stop laughing, I'd appreciate your thoughts.

    Do Etsy have a hold on payputs after someone purchases or is payment available soon after?

      A hold

      When you are a newer seller the hold can be longer, but later you can get your funds shortly after the product has been received be the buyer.

      I am also considering these two products from Printify, but there are some aspects I'm not satisfied with. Can you suggest some suppliers with similar products that are made in the US?

      It appears an Etsy account is now charged something like USD20, once for all.

    Do you run ads or the products sell themselves

    • @hannahebeling
      @hannahebeling  5 месяцев назад +1

      It totally depends on the product! I run Etsy ads on some and some just sell organically.

    Great video. It’s a little disheartening to see trendy crap items people are buying. I wont ever be able to do designs like that and live with myself. Thats just not anything im interested in wasting my effort on. So maybe I’m not cut out for this type of selling.
