Juna, Graham, Drew people like you are fantastic with your sharing of your design knowledge. I'm 64 years young 😊 & was lucky to meet a great student "Richard" with a degree in Typography 25 years ago. Me being totally self trained in design thought I knew it all. Richard said to me back then that typography & getting balance with any message being optically correct are the most important things in design. Through you after all this time, i have just realised how true Richard was ! 👍🧡
Very nicely done! All sorts of new design ideas from start to finish. I also want to thank you both for including examples of the designs. It helps my brain visualize what you mean when you speak to "naive doodle art" or "one-color vintage". It's interesting to me (no formal design/art training) to listen to you discuss art/ design and typographical ideas in a type of shorthand and you know what each others saying. lol.. Shows your professionalism. Thanks again for the great ideas.
That trend we mentioned is really just the objects/references themselves. Not like bands or cars or brands, but more abstract things like Casette Tapes, CD's, a Game Controller, a Boom Box, etc. things like that which can be illustrated and put on a shirt.
What I find is that the audiences of MBA and Etsy are entirely different. The typical amazon customer seems to look way more for graphic designs, even AI designs on mostly black shirts, which there definitely sell best. On Etsy however, the softer colors clearly stand out, and also the more quality designs.
Which of these t-shirt trends is your favorite? 👀
Big thanks to Juna for joining us!
Thanks for having me on. I also have a great time on Coffee With Kittl.
Thanks for all of the amazing insight Juna!
@@DetourShirts Please do another quick question design masterclass with Kittl like you did 9 months ago Juna, Awesome 🌟👍🧡

Thanks so much for watching!
Thanks Juna for doing photo examples. I'm testing the coquette style/grid in my shop.
Go for it!
The 3x3 grid you guys were referring to is called Coquette. Very popular on Etsy.
Coquette actually applies to the pink, girly trend with bows and other girly elements - not the grid. :)
@@ShoniW From what I have seen, it applies to the grid. Plenty of Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, designs that are not in just "Pink" colors.
Nice! We will check out that keyword and see what else goes with it!
Doodle T-Shirt idea is so good, I'll defiantly try that one. Loved this video

Hi Drew & Juna, Please do Further Sessions of this Series!!!! Most Interesting!!! Cheers, Brad H
Thanks for watching, and will do!
With the 90's references would there be any copyright or trademark issues? Or does it depend on what pictures you're using?
That trend we mentioned is really just the objects/references themselves. Not like bands or cars or brands, but more abstract things like Casette Tapes, CD's, a Game Controller, a Boom Box, etc. things like that which can be illustrated and put on a shirt.
doodle and one color only 1:54
Great options.
I‘ve done and published a few of the vintage one color style that Juna had as his 2nd, hope they‘ll get some traction on Etsy soon.

Interesting observation! Definitely possible.
Can we do a video where each guy does there version and others of their each choices as examples and their creativity ???? Waiting for that. 😅
That would be interesting!
Was there a search term for the typography/ utilitarian style, or are they just floating up to the top?
You can search "Utilitarian Type Design" "Utilitarian Graphic Design" and some great options will come up on Pinterest.
Be careful with silly goose a liquor company is aggressive on that one
Interesting!
Error 404 is my old tumblr name
Nice haha
