I love it. My concern is that, for example, if I'm selling a Bella Cavas 3001... I want to be sure that the mockup is a real Bella Canvas 3001... I tried Place It for awhile, but it seems like it's hard to tell what shirt they are using in their mockups? Unless they've changed things since then?
Completely agree. No point in using mockups if they are not the same product. Plus, Etsy's new rules require the primary photo be a mockup of the exact same item.
Same concern. I don't trust PlaceIt because of this--using incorrect mockups will get your items delisted or your shop shut down. Plus some of their mockups are just...weird. I'll have to check them out again though.
Hi Christina! We understand your concern, but rest assured Placeit photos are completely fine to use as long as they are representative of the product you're selling. Etsy's listing requirements state, "You can use stock photos in some limited circumstances, where you are offering either personalized/customized items or an item made with a production partner, as discussed below." You can read more about that here :) www.etsy.com/ie/legal/policy/listing-image-requirements/253962679005#:~:text=Exceptions,production%20partner%2C%20as%20discussed%20below.
This is great, but the only issue I have seen is that when I place on my Etsy shop - Etsy gives me a warning that the resolution is too low. My work around is downloading, upscaling then loading to Etsy. but was wondering if anyone else have experienced this.
Hi, Thank you for sharing. Unfortunately, this is an issue on the sales channel side, but we're doing our best to work with our partners to make it better!
This will be awesome - the better our listings, the more sales you get - seems a no brainer that Printify should provide the best images for listings. If I access Placit from a Toddler Shirt, then the Placeit should automatically display the mock ups for that product in the colors selected for the design. We also shouldn't have to reposition or adjust the image on the mockup. Glad you have more plans because this is a good start but falls short. Also shouldn't have to login to Placeit.
@@Printify You're very welcome - thank you for being my print provider of choice. We need more Canadian partners on all products btw. How do I make sure my mark up is the correct size for printer five when downloading from Canva? I know it’s all talk topic and I’m so excited about this integration but I can’t find any video telling me how to make it under 20 MIB thanks in advance.
Hi! Here's how Canva explains to reduce a file size: - Select PNG or JPG as the file type. This isn’t available for other file types at the moment. - Below the quality or size slider, tick the box for Limit file size to. - Enter the file size limit you prefer in KB. - S-elect a page. Note that you may only set a file export limit when downloading a single page. When a file size export limit is set, some options, such as the quality slider, may be locked or become unavailable. If the design has complex content (i.e., many elements or layers), the exported file might be larger than specified to retain image quality. However, the file will be exported as small as possible. Click here to read the whole article: www.canva.com/help/download-file-types/#:~:text=Below%20the%20quality%20or%20size,when%20downloading%20a%20single%20page.
Unfortunately, it still needs a lot of work. I tried it yesterday, and it put my design all over the place, usually low below the chest. On one of them, they magnified my design like 3X so it was coming off of the shirt, LOL. Most of the shirts too didn't look anything like the Gildans or Bella Canvases I use. I know I can adjust things, but even if I did this it wouldn't have been usable. This being said, this is nothing but a huge bonus for us once it gets optimized. I'm really excited to use once it's there.
This is great, but it won't let me login to PlaceIt. As far as the plugin itself. I do wish you can limit the mockup options being displayed to matchup with the items being sold. If my listing is a Bella+Canva 3001, I really don't need to see mockups for mugs, hoodies, and caps. Maybe there could be a separate tab for additional items would go well with the design. But keep those separate please.
I just started using this today and Published it to Etsy, however the resolution is poor & blurry. The regular Printify mockups are fine, but the ones done on Placeit are all blurry. Any suggestions?
I've noticed that the image dimensions provided on Placeit for a standard 11oz mug are 950 x 1129 pixels which differ from the printing specifications required by Printify, which are 2100 x 900 pixels at 300 DPI. This discrepancy results in slight differences in the aspect ratio, which raises some concerns about how the design will translate between the mockup and the actual printed product. Could you please clarify why the dimensions and ratios differ?
The difference in dimensions and aspect ratios between Placeit and Printify comes down to their purposes. Placeit mockups are designed for visual appeal in marketing, so their templates prioritize on-screen presentation, not printing accuracy. On the other hand, Printify’s dimensions (e.g., 2100 x 900 pixels at 300 DPI) are optimized for high-quality printing on physical products. To ensure your design prints correctly, always use Printify’s specifications for your files. Placeit mockups may slightly adjust the aspect ratio for display purposes, but this won’t affect the printed product as long as your original design meets Printify’s guidelines. If you want consistency, design using Printify’s specs and adapt it to Placeit’s templates for mockups, knowing they’re for visual representation only. It would also help to provide different kind of mockups (flat lay, context, model etc) so that the buyers can experience their product in different ways and can be more certain about their purchase.
Pop-up stores need some attention too especially the quality of the product pictures and also the mobile version considering so many people use phones it should be so much better than just a blurry low quality 🤷🏻♂️ hopefully u show some love to the pop up shop
The integration doesn’t seem to work well at all when I use it. It should sync to my printify account and give me all the options that the real online version give you. When you access it through printify place it doesn’t seem to show hardly anything.
but placeit example tees don't look like your Ts. why not make AI tool to create mockups, apply YOUR gear and auto-mockup. and then alter face, BG whatever for unique mockups. and turn them into smart object templates with AI.
There’s a reason I don’t use placeit. Besides the fact that you Will never distinguish your brand by using the same mockups like Everyone else and their images are not complementary to your brand vibe, the AI-coloring often makes the product image less qualitative and authentic. The only upside to placeit is the warping of your design on the fabric. I believe we are better helped with methodes (ways to warp the design on your OWN images) than fixed solutions (everyone shops the same mockups).
Hey! Thanks for sharing! There's of course no obligation to use Placeit mockups! We actually highly encourage using your custom mockups if you have the ability in order to enhance brand image. For those who may not have the time or money to do so, Placeit is a great alternative option. :)
I really don't like Placeit, the integration is still not good. I am concerned about creating a mockup for a product that isn't exactly what i'm selling and losing money on returns. I would probably pay a premium for Placeit to model items specifically from the Printify catalog for us to use.
You know what’s not so easy which I don’t understand why you guys don’t fix or add. Why when we want to change a mockup, we have to go into every single product and do it manually. Why isn’t there a way to bulk do this. Especially if you have 2,000 products. Instead now we have to go and remove mockups every time we upload a new design and choose a different color shirt. And the same thing with the place it, why can’t we choose one mockup and apply it to all the products in bulk. Who do you think is going to sit there and go through products one by one. What if you have 5,000 products. It’s ridiculous that this isn’t even an option. Like if we like how a design looks on a mockup, maybe we want to do that to the 2,000 other t shirts. Why the go back and forth one at a time. It’s nuts.
Very happy to see this new and useful integration!
Happy to help!
