For young Sheldon Cooper, it isn't easy growing up in East Texas. Being a once-in-a-generation mind capable of advanced mathematics and science isn't always helpful in a land where church and football are king. And while the vulnerable, gifted and somewhat naive Sheldon deals with the world, his very normal family must find a way to deal with him. His father, George, is struggling to find his way as a high school football coach and as father to a boy he doesn't understand. Sheldon's mother, Mary, fiercely protects and nurtures her son. For 12 years on "The Big Bang Theory," audiences came to know the iconic, eccentric and extraordinary Sheldon Cooper. In "Young Sheldon," audiences get a chance to meet him in childhood, as he embarks on his innocent, awkward and hopeful journey toward the man he will become. Jim Parsons, who plays the adult version of Sheldon on "The Big Bang Theory," narrates.

Hey everyone! Just incase anyone is confused. I posted Part 5 a week or so ago before part 3 and 4 because I did not have part 3 and 4 while on christmas break, I forgot those files so I posted part 5 before them. that is for the ones that think we are missing a few episodes because we aren't lol. Ooh, I remember watching this finale during my first binge watch. Seeing George and Brenda hit it off at the bar after the huge argument he and Mary had practically sank my heart, knowing what we know from TBBT. On the plus side, Sheldon sticking with Missy as she went into hiding was a sweet brotherly moment from him and it is much appreciated.
25:26 yeah, in TBBT Mary said "if I hadn't told my brother stumpy not to clean out the woodchippper by hand we'd still be callin him Edward". And in season 1 she said "I made dinner for Charline and Edward more times than you ever did". Also, do Georgie's actions remind you of anything? "Mom was a mess, Missy was a dumb teenager, I had to look after both of them"
As a kid, I was in Missy’s situation when it came to a break up and my mom helped me through it which I appreciated. What Mary did was basically the opposite and once again shows favoritism to Sheldon while not knowing the situation regarding Missy. George was handling it in the best possible way and honestly I agreed with him Mary practically demolished everything with her self righteous bullcrap.
Also Sheldon, he may have an IQ that is Top Tier to Albert Einstein but he is oblivious when it comes to emotions which he never experienced until TBBT. An now with him voicing over the Young Sheldon series, he looks back on these moments with regret.
Honestly this episode onwards is where I feel the series really picks up. What came before is great, but what comes after is fantastic.
Missy is not a bad person at all, I fully understand her frustrations that made her rip Sheldon’s professor proton picture, to me it was 100% Sheldon’s fault for making her mad
27:24, Missy actually has a very good point about how everyone seems to take Sheldon's side all the time and I have no idea how Mary or the others never seem to notice or aware of that until Missy snapped at Mary like that and told her, and I also don't blame her for feeling like she's like the Black Sheep of the Family.
Not to mention Mary didn't even let Missy explain her side of the entire issue at all and maybe they would've straighten things up, too.

How is it that hard to notice or even be aware of it until Missy brought it up??

Paige absolutely violates Sheldon. As much as I love Sheldon and Amy in TBBT, Paige could’ve been a good first relationship and maybe seeing it broken down, down the line, by of course Sheldon’s ego, it could’ve been good insight why he never seemed to care for romantic relationships later on.
As much as I can understand Missy’s POV, just yelling at everyone and not helping them understand your POV isn’t going to help.
Bro season 4 hit hella hard

George was the better parent in this finale. Mary does have a big ego and favors Sheldon. She did pass that trait over to Sheldon
Definitely this is my turning point where Mary is my least favorite character.
What I love about young Sheldon more than h the Big Bang theory is that it takes its time to flesh out its characters

I’m curious to see what the next Spinoff is going to be. At the moment I’m predicting that it’ll be Young Penny. But I am hoping to be surprised that it’ll be something else.

just so you are aware before going into season 6, only the first 5 seasons of the show are available on hbo max last i checked. could be wrong now, but when i wanted to see all of season 6, i had to switch to paramount plus. thats where all the new episodes go anyway the day after first airing. so might have to make the switch to continue, at least from my past experience.

Cody, I have some good news for you. I recently found out that a new spinoff series from The Big Bang Theory was to be created in the future. Also, I figured out that for the main character, they could either have Stewart, Howard, or Raj. I don't know what direction they could go for Stewart, but Howard does make more sense considering how much of a fan favorite he is. However I think that Raj might be the wisest choice for this reason. In the season 12 finale, Raj never got much of a happy ending like the others. So if this new spinoff is a direct continuation of the Big Bang Theory, we can finally see what will happen to him after Sheldon got the prize. Do you think that Raj might be the wisest choice for this new spinoff's protagonist?
I think Kripke might be fun.
From your reasoning Raj does make the most sense. However, it sounds similar to Joey’s spinoff from Friends. Hopefully the series gets great writers so the spin off lasts for a long time.
Melissa Peterman played the other woman in Reba and maybe the other woman in Young Sheldon. Wow.

I really hated the ending scene...I know Mary can be annoying sometimes and she has her flaws(I love her anyway) and she and George have their issues, but I know they love each other, so I really hate that development. :(
I don’t think they love each other that much, in TBBT we are told by Sheldon that and George clearly seems unhappy (also the reason they married was simply because Mary was pregnant)
The season 4 finale of Young Sheldon is one of the wildest episodes of the series

Just an idea for after you're done with Young Sheldon, maybe you could react to Modern Family! It's a funny and wholesome sitcom, which also has a gay couple as main characters. It's one of the best shows, up there with Big Bang Theory, Young Sheldon and Friends

Honestly, Mary snd George really did need to start paying more attention to Georgie and Missy and stop having favoring Sheldon over them! And while Sheldon probably hogs up all their attention and he probably needs it because of him being “special” and all, they need to have some sort of focus on his siblings! That’s one of the biggest problems!

Ion blame George, if I was a man and had a wife like Mary I’d probably find another woman as well.
Mary is so selfish and concerned more with the church, her own comfortability and her reputation than the family..
I talked about it with a friend, actually. I'm against cheating, always have been, always will be. But with every things Mary said about George in TBBT, awful things !! And the way he is here, the sacrifices... She seems to always see her way, her side, her feelings. George is not perfect by any means, but he doesn't pretend to be ! Her on the other end... I have difficulties loving her. I do, but most of the time she infuriates me. George is a good father, and a good man. But she treats him like crap, and make it seem like he's the one at falt. So much so, that I can understand him wanting to feel wanted or seen as a good man, and not a deadbeat husband. Because he did a lot for this family, things that Mary seem to forget a looooot. Or maybe she doesn't forget, but she doesn't care, since she got what she wanted. He's the only one suffering from not taking the job he wanted, after all.
I would want a divorce if I was him. Not see another woman. But in his case, is even a divorce possible ? Would Mary accept ? Because of her reputation, like you said. So... i get what you're saying ! I'm a woman, and I'm always on George's side. And I'm kinda mad at Mary for the way she talks about George, here or in TBBT. He deserves better.
