Great movie. The assembly of the intake and the sound outside and inside are well shown. The owner is a great man, he shows how happy he is in the video. There is no better advertisement!
Thank you for your kind words and for commenting. We were so happy with this modification!
As a result of your great video, I'm installing the same kit on my mk5 golf gti. Thanks .
Glad to have inspired you to get one! How are you finding it?
@@RedlineRevs yes, I love it it seems to rev quicker and I just love the noise it makes. I get strange looks from pedestrians 🤣🤣
@@marklaroche7981 really glad you enjoying it bet it sounds sick from street level. Did you remove the sound proofing from bonnet as well?
@@RedlineRevs no, I left the soundproofing in place
Just did my today!!
Just ordered this system for my Audi A3 2.0tfsi- sounds wicked
I've got mine for Xmas off the wife! Can't wait to get it fitted, I've got a split in both the intake pipes which I've had to repair so this will solve those issues too!
It's gonna be a very happy Christmas for you! By the way she's clearly a keeper!
@@RedlineRevs Got it fitted and it sounds incredible! Without your video it would have took a lot longer so thanks again 👍
I just did it on my VW GTiV following your instructions, it worked perfectly.
Thank u a lot! And keep doing more videos :)
Thanks bro glad you found it useful and got the induction kit on the car it's a worthwhile upgrade. More videos to come.. Been busy with family and work recently. Thank you for your support and encouragement.
@@RedlineRevs Did you fit the heat shield in the end?
@@ronnie939 still not got round to it yet will probably do before remapping.
any increase in acceleration/turbo response? I also have a mk5 gti that I am thinking about getting an intake for.
Just fitted the same one on my mrk 2 skoda vrs , great video mate 👍👌👏
Great sound, does this car have any other modifications ? Like exhaust?
Thanks for taking the time to comment. Yes this car also had a modified exhaust system. 3inch ebay golf GTI downpipe with a 2.5inch custom straight through plus free flow rear resonator. We have videos on the exhaust mod on the channel.
Wish they included the two rubber bungs for heat shield! As I don’t have original air box you need take off
Just received my ramair today, can't wait to install it now 👍👌
You will enjoy it I'm sure!
@@RedlineRevs yeah I have it on the car now a few days, the sound is waaaay better, straight pipe an send it for a remap is next 👌
Great video thank you! 100% going to be buying one for my TT! Quick question, does the kit come with the jubilee clips or did you source them seperately? If so, any idea what the sizes required are?
Wow, thank you so much for your comment! Really happy that this video is inspiring and help people so many years on. The RamAir oversized turbo intake kit & filter comes with all the jubilee clams you need to install the mod. Hope you enjoy it!
Brilliant thank you!@@RedlineRevs
@channelwhywhywhy my pleasure! Interested to hear how you get on with it- I'm sure you won't be disappointed. We're just about to fit a similar RamAir kit to my brothers 2.5t Ford so I'll be putting a video out on that soon. He's so excited to get some intake sound out of it 🤣
Installed a Revo induction and much less hassle to install being one large pipe into a reducer turbo pipe.
Great video mate, thanks so much. Good detail and a nice explanation of everything. Installing this on a MK5 Golf GTi next week so this will help a lot :)
Thanks for commenting I'm sure youre going to enjoy it on the Golf!
I had the ramair oversized cyclone induction kit but swapped for a vw racing line r600 cold air intake
Notice any benefits after the change?
Already got this intake on my Seat, shits fire
Love this intake (and love a good Seat!)
Awesome!! Thanks for the guide 😁🚀
Thank you this video and this air filter kit is so good. Please make more vid with this car.
Nice to see a local page! Probably seen you guys around
Yes bro let me know if you ever want to get your car on the channel or something. 👊🏾
Aye that beat hard tho homie🔥🔥🔥
Thanks, loved it! Back on making videos now and need to find that beat back because people complaining that I've changed it!
I didnt cut anything, What ive done is Ive pushed the cone in first all the way in and then the corner hose after it.
You sir, are a genius. Thanks for sharing the TIP (see what I did there?).
Does this air intake need a tune to use with no problems?
Love the videos bro hopefully when my insurance goes cheaper i can get vw golf mk5 gti with the lovely 2.0tsi engine
Thanks so much for your support. Hope your insurance drops soon I'm sure you'd enjoy a mk5 gti!
Hi mate, did you have to do a custom tune for this intake? Does the engine behave differently due to sudden change and quantity of air intake?
Hiya, we installed this with no map or tune. Car felt marginally better performance wise and sounded better too! The air intake and exhaust mods should be done prior to a remap so you can get more out of mapping the car.
Hey I can hear a whining noise coming from the engine. Did you notice it and were you able to fix it because I have that same noise on my car as well.
Your engine bay looks exactly like mine. I have a 2008 Audi TT with the 2.0T FSI engine (US Spec) would this work? Website doesn't mention my car. FWD also btw
At the point in the video where you talk about modding, repairing and maintenance, you have the engine check light on the dash. Is this a result of the induction kit giving the MAF some strange data, or another fault. I plan to fit one to my S3 this weekend, so it would be good to know in advance. Thanks
Hi, I've never done this mod but I think anytime you unplug the MAF sensor you'll get check engine lights. Maybe disconnect battery first?
The check engine light is from the decat exhaust.
F7IN No, don’t worry. You won’t get a CEL only for disconnecting the MAF sensor. Just make sure the engine is not running while doing that, lol.
Ive just fitted a ram air kit to my audi a3 8p ea888 and theres no noticeable sound difference and no turbo sounds at all, im still using the stock inlet pipe could that be the reason?
Wow that's a surprise! Ordinarily just swapping out the airbox for an open cone filter will give you a much more roarsome intake sound. On my 1.8t it was a great improvement in sound, and noticeably power increase when I later added the upgraded intake pipe. Take a look at an oversize turbo intake pipe which might help? And possibly diverter valve? I don't know these engines so well to be able to speak from experience although I'm thinking of getting a mk3 cupra and building it out...
@@RedlineRevs thanks for the response! Did the intake pipe make much of a difference to the sound or not? I'm thinking it may be an issue with the diverter valve, considering upgrading to a dv+
@tobyhill8749 on this application it really did make much more of a sucking in sound. Can't remember if it had that lift off "pssst" hiss. We used standard DV on this one.
Thanks for sharing mate ! So does this basically means that any cold air intake that fits in Golf MK5 gti can also fit on a Skoda Octavia RS mk2?
Hey bro.your video inspired me to place this air kit to mine octavia 5 vrs...Just today 9/7/2020
- 1.So..Guys...as far for the original engine cover bolt's located at the exhaust heat sink (as saw in video on 16:35)-u suggest u guys unscrew the bolt under the exhaust heat sink of those 2 plastic mounts (cause mine one of those broke as i was trying to unscrew it with pliers), with a 10mm wrench with ratchet .if u place the finger from below u can feel it.and then its possible to unscrew the plastic mount with hand.
-2. the provided exhaust heat sink cover. doesn't fit on octavia 5 vrs.(Its to long) and u need to cut it a bit at the end -because it stuck on the brake fluid tank.i cut mine just in the spot that starts getting bigger (extended).
The results: I have stage 1 ecu chip with a GFB T9351 DV+ For VAG 2.0TFSI blow off and stock exhaust system:
_ at acceleration (boosting) i can here the turbo way..better!!
- Definitely i can hear much much better the blow off valve now as a turbo must do...(before was like sneezing :P).
- i made just a sort drive today with a very hot weather (35 celcious) and i'm not sure about any actual HP gains-but the car felt i little more responsive then usual.
Hi mate. I know this is a it of a random question but do you know what mm the blanking cap is.
Would be a great help!
10:15 come on man, but some hose clamp pliers with a long cable. They’re just 11$ on aliexpress...
Did the exhaust sound get louder after the filter was installed?
Not necessarily louder, although perhaps, but it certainly did sound better with more burbling!
Wil this kit fit on a audi tt 1.8 tfsi? Only see kits for the 2.0 on the website.
What socket head did you use to tighten the hoses?
The filter itself has 80mm intake?
Sound's awesome good work guy's
Glad you enjoyed it thanks for commenting!
What year is this? And did you have problems with the chain?
I've had to change the chain and tensioner on mine, after the bloody cambelt and waterpump 🙄 mines a 2006. The later TSI's have trouble with their chains and guides a lot more though
Is the car stock apart from that
Only other mod was a custom exhaust which we've also got videos on.
Subbed thanks for the content
Thanks for taking the time to do that bro.
Can you replace the foam filter supplied with Ramair’s Proram cotton filter?
do i need a stage 1 or 2 for this, or can i just put it on a stock engine with no other upgrades? i own a cupra R 2010 265 bhp 2.0 tfsi
You can just bolt it on without any other mods.
The enige light on the dash was it alteady on ?
Yes that was due to decat exhaust, not related to the induction kit.
21:26 ahhh man! Why did RamAir made the elbow so long? I had a hard time installing today the filter on it..
Any hp gains on dyno with this cai ? This looks amazing, i can't make up my mind between Ramair or Revo intake....
Definitely feels like more power and better flow. Car has never been on duno so I can't say for sure. But I will recommend this to my subscribers and am confident no one will be disappointed.
What is the extra bit on the first pipe for? Like the bit that comes off? Is it to install MAFs from aftermarket ECUs?
It’s for K04 versions, the return hose must be connected there. But not in his case, so he leaves it blocked/covered
How much HP and Nm did this intake gain to You?
Car was not dyno'ed so can't say. This car has been sat abandoned for some years and I plan to revive and restore it soon so will get it on a dyno for a remap at some point!
What exhaust did you fit?
Hi does that save on a fuel economy please can you let me know
Dont think so
I think in certain circumstances it can help but only a small difference. The colder and denser air means that fuel is easier combustible so i believe less fuel is wasted.
Dose this kit fit a skoda octavia vrs mk2 08reg
Yes thats the same model in this video. That kit fits both octavia mk2 pre face lift and post face lift.
What bhp is it mate?
Bro this is the 197bhp tFsi but I believe the same induction kit is for same gen s3 and cupra w/ k04 turbos too.
Did it trigger the EML light as I noticed it was on ?
Nah that's from the decat bro
A312 🤙🏼🤙🏼🤙🏼🤙🏼
Like your vids mate but the constant ADS x2 of them aswell its to much
What star socket size are the engine cover bolts plesse ???
27mm if i remember correctly, be very careful as they sheer of extremely easy being brittle AF due to the heat cycles they go through.
@@michaelparker-smith8773 used the correct spanner instead coupdnt find the deep socket anywhere!!! Thsbks though
Hi mate got a 2011 mk2 fl tfsi is that noise just the intake
All we done on this so far is intake and exhaust bro.
@@RedlineRevs what exhaust I just want it sound a little nicer nice noteb not to giddy tho but mot friendly
@@Lee-At-Green-Pheonix-Rc we have 3 inch ebay downpipe into 2.5inch custom with 1 free flowing rear box. you can see how it sounds in other videos I've posted.
Lee you've got a 'TSI' this is a 'TFSI' mate
would this fit a audi a3 1.8tfsi 2007?
Hi Cray, I'm not certain about this- sorry. I know the kit is for 2.0 TFSI ko3 or Ko4, but I haven't seen a 1.8TFSI up close to be able to say if it will fit. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.
@@RedlineRevs the 1.8 uses the k03 turbo if that makes the pipe fittings the same?
good
Hey man, just installed the induction kit on my mk5 GTI, but i dont think i did everything right, it sounds fucking great but i get some shaking in my car and my brake/gas pedal. I have no idea what i did wrong😂
Hey man, i just did the same and had the exact same problem. What was the problem after all? can you please share
Using this video i fit my ramair to my mk6 r today, piece of piss dont be paying people to do this!
So glad it helped!! Thanks for commenting.
Exhaust has nothing too do with the Ramair filter.
We already had a modified exhaust on this car and after opening up the air intake with the Ramair system exhaust sounded better too. It's all about the flow.
When you do this your insurance goes up if you don't tell them you are not legally covered
VWs engine covers do get in the way but they do a great job of hiding what are the most ugly engines known to man! Ive got a mk6 GTi, which to me is a beautiful looking car, until you lift off the engine cover and I start to heave! It reminds me of going out on a Friday night and picking up a right stunner, only to roll over in bed the next morning to gaze upon a circus freakshow escapee! Stella Artois have some explaining about what it does to my vision and self respect.
Loool just take a look at that plastic inlet mani haha
Agree with that looks like when the predator takes off his mask
Did anyone else skip to the part where he was rev the car
Hahahaha don't blame you sounds sick!
No disrespect but sound like a underboost problem.
