I love seeing back to back tests like this because it's pretty much definitive data, and you know exactly what each mod does. No guesses or rhetoric, just hard data! Thanks for doing this.
Just fitted the Ramair to mine, the noises it makes is insane 😄 I’ve already got a stage 1 remap but it’s certainly added more grunt, feels like another 20lbft in the mid range.
I'm thinking about this too. I have a 2005 A3 2.0tfsi with a stage 1 tune and I was wondering if a cold air intake system was gonna be worth it.. this comment is what I needed
great vid mate interesting result, I fitted a ram air to my mk2 Audi tt on my channel but already had the stage 1 so don't know what improvement it has made, but I suppose your looking at about 10hp
Don't want to knock the video but the ram Air filter you left the hood open compared to stock as It was closed this makes a massive different on the dyuno so wasn't a fair comparison but good video still
Stock intake takes air from outside, but yes would be interesting to see how the ramair does with the bonnet closed on a hot day in standing traffic. Need to compare IAT.
The best intakes for these tfsi engines are closed like the vwr or the itg. Just buy one used off eBay for about £150. These open cone intakes are just sucking in hot air especially on tuned cars.
So stock vs intake gains are about 10hp and 20lb ft torque But does the intake give more hp and more torque when on stage 1? Files of stage 1 I think give like 245hp you got around 265hp so 20hp more rather than 10. Which ecu tune you used?
I’ve just got this Audi now and it still needs those engine mounts done 😂😂 still has same wheels and that small dent on rear quarter panel that someone tried repairing with chemical metal
that's kinda cheesy they named their company "ram air". i was trying to find a vid where someone was testing a real ram air setup. those were some pretty good numbers for just a cold air intake tho!
was this a custom tune or just one you loaded on? I assume custom but i keep hearing some guys just flash with a preconfig and to me, thats just asking for trouble. I already swapped out my dv valve to GFB dv/blow off and installed r8 plugs, i take it this was a good move? Induction getting fitted tomorrow hopefully, then off to the tuners asap..

Thanks Gary, it was a good simple test to do i think to actually show what the customer in gaining.

@@E3ReTRoll Did you end up doing this? Ive just gone stage 1 in my Mk6 R and want to get the ramair intake
@@BittaThisBittaThatI have a mk6 R with Ramair oversized induction and it does make slight difference but definitely sounds so much better
Just put one on my scirocco 2.0tsi, it’s just filled the gap that it needed. Definitely recommend it.
This is great to see thank you! Going to order an induction kit next as I’ve just had a remap on my Golf Mk5.
Get in touch I’ll get you sorted with an intake 👍
actually very impressive for an intake.
Really good video. Can't wait for my induction kit to come now. Oready have the full miltek exhaust on aswell

Funny to see the bonnet comment because I was thinking the same. . Cool video though cheers

Love it. Great video, good solid data

Did you have numbers with hood closed and what about filtration stock vs ramair filter?
This is great! I’m going to do this to my Audi TT Mk2. Thanks for the video.
Just been looking at ram air for my s3, this little video has sealed it 👌
Check out the link in the description for the kit and I’ll send you one out in would be much appreciated 👍
good informative video, thumbs up. top content.
I’ve just fitted one to my s3 8p but doesn’t have any flutter sounds. Any ideas?
Do You know how much HP and Torque it will have when You add Downpipe?
I love it! Brazil
Would the sudden decrease in the intake diameter (from 100mm to 76mm by the MAF sensor housing) cause turbulence?
Yes.
LOVED THE VIDEO
That hp figures are on crank or Wheel hp??

Good video. Better gains from an induction kit over a panel filter in your opinion?
Excellent video, what did you use to tune it ?
Tuning software

you did not follow the test with the front door closed with the ramair filter
Ramair looks so cheap with just a bunch of Simone fittings and clamps
