Great video Doug, my Corolla will soon have to undergo the same surgery. You made it look like a walk in the park, except that I live in Québec, where working on car means spending most of your time battling with stuck rusty bolts.

Alors bon chance avec la voiture en hiver. It was a lot of work, but I'm pretty sure I covered every step for other DIYers. One thing I didn't mention was with the drive axle install--You need to hammer it back in until the male end of the axle is in place. You'll be able to feel it go in, no problem. To hammer hold a piece of 2x4 wood on the projecting end of the axle and tap it with a mallet as firmly as you can.

Thanks for telling us how a clutch works and that there is a filter for the intake, but you forgot to say that the front of the car is pointing forward when you drive down the road :D

Other viewers: Please note that the car points down the road. Thanks.

I'll take it, I just love the ones where it's like the hood is shut then there's a jump cut with the cylinder head off and it's like "Oh yeah you just pop that out of there no big deal"

Is this video relatively transferable to a 99' corolla?

How long does it take to do this job? Especially if its a a mechanic shop. Was told 8 hours in labor.

Do you have to drain your transaxle oil before you take driveshafts out?

No, the driveshafts are intact and you just bolt them into the transaxle.
