    45:12 my first disagreement with Whick-tv through the whole vid: if the majority wants a benefit to itself at the cost of the politician class, or worse- the rich sponsors of the politician class, voting harder won’t cause the politicians to legislate and enforce policies that would benefit the majority at the cost of their rich sponsors no matter how much the majority desires it. The US people can’t outbid a billionaire and they shouldn’t have to. The limits to political power which are symptomatic to the supremacy of the profit-principle are not ones that can be revoked by enough good people voting. That won’t put more money in the rich people’s bank->the rich people will make sure it won’t put enough money at the politician’s bank->the politician will ignore the people’s desire that conflicts with his donors desire. The frustration at powerlessness which motivates despairing people to buy in to half assed fake solutions to their problems only motivates them so because when actual social agency seems impossible people will settle for the (seemingly) next best thing.

    Didn't JK Rowling write a novel in which the vilain is a man who disguises himself as a woman to kill women? If this isn't transphobia, together with her twitter activity and her friends and acquaintances, then words have no meaning anymore. I'm fine with being careful to not straight away use extreme label such as nazi and the likes, but when words and actions do support the use of the label in a descriptive manner (insults are never useful, just like violence in general), I don't see why we can't use the right label. JK Rowling is thus a TERF and a transphobe, or fits the description of a transphobe. That's unfortunate, it's a stain on her otherwise fairly positive legacy (despite not being a stellar writer, her world building being her forte), but she's a product of her time, of feminism, of the era of social media etc... She didn't need to be an "activist", she could have kept her transphobia to herself. It's even more unfortunate because if we follow her logic, and a sane logic we all aim to abide by, females are a biological reality, trans people are also a biological reality, transwomen are not biologically female but they are women (or transwomen, to not erase the trans experience) in terms of self identity, gender and all the social constructs that surrounds this gender. I don't think there is anything controversial about these observations, most people would share the same.

We have an awareness of political systems to varying degrees of details, and we can differentiate between individuals and groups, albeit the reasoning for their actions have varied differing explanations. Ideology just seems like “idea with social repercussions”, but Kid still uses it to chastise contemporary society, thus I understand her to hold it in contempt. If that’s my misunderstanding of her intent in use of the term as including negative ethical judgement, or to a wholly different meaning I’d be happy to be corrected, and if I’m not I’d be happy to be explained why she deems such a wide concept to have necessarily negative consequences which it seems she desires society to abandon

      @jonathancangelosi2439 11 месяцев назад +11

      Yeah particularly on the topic of this video, I’m not sure how you can be okay with trans people but not “trans ideology,” whatever that means. Kid seems to empathize with trans people when it comes to the abuse and discrimination they face, which makes it seem odd that she takes such a stance. If you are generally supportive of trans people, then you should know that their so-called “ideology” is simply having their identity respected and acknowledged. If you recognize that there is a systemic issue plaguing trans people, then you must realize that the solution must also be systemic, and that means certain “ideologies” may arise to get people on board and have a common language to discuss things. But “trans ideology” is no more an ideology than “terf ideology,” yet this criticism is curiously not levied towards terfs. Any system of moral beliefs can be considered an “ideology”; what matters is whether such beliefs are justified.

I.e. that changing gender is fine in name but in not in any other field. I’d love to be mistaken, and I’d be happy to get a clear understanding even if I’m right. I actually disagree with both of you. He said that we talk about the trans stuff because right wing people just chose them to pick apart and you agreed. That's not true. Right wing people just started noticing them more once they exposed themselves and went viral a la Dylan Mulvaney etc.

    No one seems to think excluding men from women's prison is misandry, so no, excluding transwomen from women's shelters, prisons, and sports is not transphobic

      Sexism and transphobia aren’t the same thing. This is an apples-to-oranges comparison.

      @jonathancangelosi2439 no, both are excluding a group based on classification.

      Yes it is, since trans women are women and mothers men.

      @@jonathancangelosi2439 You’re right. Sexism is a real form of oppression and transphobia is just the latest rendition of “misandry”.

    The creature interviewing her could be from a movie like WALL-E where humanity is close to shutting down. Physically, he looks and sounds as though his body contains no trace of muscle or testosterone; and intellectually, his droning of the current establishment 'message' is even more alarming due to his dalek/evil slug appearance.

    No, the reason we're discussing this is because the alphabet activists couldn't be satisfied with legalized gay marriage. They had to embrace men with AGP fetishes and honor them more than women, and add in the minor attracted people as part of the alphabet community.
    People aren't going to stand for that, whether right, left or center. It is a losing effort. Give it up! We will never accept it and if that's what's required to accept trans people, trans people are in a trouble that won't go away.

      Dude what are you talking about. Trans people want nothing to do with “minor attracted people.” It sounds like you’re just trying to make an association between trans people and pedos that doesn’t exist. And we all know how that tactic turned out with gay people…

      I'm trans, and I definitely agree with you. The alphabet community has honored AGPs more than trans women too.
