    Just found this recipe on Google. I've done corned beef hash before but wanted a different way of doing it. I pretty much do it this way but never added brown or bbq sauce before so I'll be doing that today 👍 looks delicious.

    This looks very tasty: I'm from Lancashire and our Corned Beef Hash was using potato pieces or dice and I've never heard of cheese being used at all. We always used Oxo/bovril/Bisto type flavour and lots of liquid. to mop up with bread. If there was any left over it was used for bubble and squeek the following day ( just veg or cabbage fried off or simply add a lid and make a pie. Served with red cabbage or beetroot.. Can't wait to try it again.

    Hi. Thanks for this recipe. Going to give it a go sometime as I have a couple of tins in my pantry. Not going to follow the recipe to the letter, but add a couple of my own variations to it. Use raw red onions; they will cook while the complete dish is baked; & a couple more variations I have up my sleeve.

    You make it different than us in my area of the UK. We cook potatoes, onion, and a carrot, with stock in a pan. Then add the cubed corned beef, the last ten minutes of cooking. Serve it with pickled beetroot or red cabbage.

      I've only ever used corned beef with mashed spuds and it's yum. The beef has enough flavour on it's own without adding the other stuff l think, but lm going to try adding the cheese, wooster sauce and mustard. Just leave out the brown sauce, yuk, too dominant flavour wise. And not sure about the onions. I've found buying fresh sliced corned beef better for mashing as it mixes through the potato better, unless you prefer lumps of meat throughout.

    I'm going to try this soon. My wife is a carer/support worker sometimes doing a 24 hr shift. Her and our daughter are always concerned that I should have a decent meal, so I'm looking forward to doing it.
    It might also get me into trying other things, as I've never really tried cooking.

      Hi Steve Forum, thank you for your lovely comment. I am in a deep thankfulness for all our support workers. My niece is also a care worker in a home for the older generation. This recipe can be made in bulk and then frozen in portions , it will last for about 4 months in the freezer and if you add baked beans as a side dish then you will get extra protein or add a fried egg on the side. I hope it comes out tasty yummmy. Cheers again and stay safe hugs Rose :)

    Just one tip. That type of can is normally produced in Brazil. They all contain exactly the same ingredients, and if you check the list on different brands you will see they are all the same. They are then sold to different brand names who have their own labels put on the cans. In a supermarket you may see famous brands at premium prices plus brands you have never heard of at cheaper prices. Do not discard them because they are cheaper. They are not an inferior product, but exactly the same inside the can as the famous brands. Once again check the ingredients and calories etc. if you don't believe me. They are all identical.

    • @Rabmac1UK
      @Rabmac1UK Год назад

      I am sure they are all identical, just as Tesco own brand of Rice or Cereals etc come from the same factory, and that is the point I support.
      Why anyone would actually consider eating this diabolical recipe is a mystery to me, even though a Corned Beef from the Deli is a far superiour product

      Hi David Brown, firstly sorry for the late reply, I have been recovering from a broken collar bone. Did you make the corn beef hash for your family, I bet they didn't even know the brown sauce was in it !!! I have some non onion eaters in my family ( little do they know how much onion they eat lol.....) thank you for the lovely comment and for watching I will be back soon, so hope to see you again on my channel. Cheers and hugs Rose :)

    it looks great i question, when setting oven temp at 180* is it centg- or fern. (us std.)

    • @EasytoCookatHomeRose
      @EasytoCookatHomeRose  6 лет назад +1

      Hi Jim thank you for your lovely comment and for watching. The oven temp is 180 centigrade in a fan assisted oven or non fan would be 200 centigrade which wold be 400 Fahrenheit or gas mark 6. I hope that helps so long as the oven is hot but not burning hot if you know what I mean. Hope to see you again on some of my other cooking vids and please do let me know how you get on :) cheers Rose sorry for late reply :)

    Par boil the potato’s in water that barely covers them then add chopped onions and simmer until cooked. Add the chopped corned beef, if necessary boil off excess water then season with salt and pepper, gently stir the contents and serve. Let the diners season to taste with Worcester Sauce or Brown Sauce. Very quick easy lunch.
