    Hi Jason,, Thanks for the well drilling setup of yours. Am in the process of doing this here where we live. Here you hit water about 15 feet down. Am starting to do mine by hand... Am going to do in steps,,, 1", 2" and 4"... Sounds like a pain,,,,but not in a big hurry to get it done,,, not sure if this makes it any easier in the long run. Like your water swivel setup.. Is the water swivel working OK,,for you,,,We had a new sump pump sitting in basement and am using this for water blaster,,,but is only 1/4 HP...Have a 1 HP ordered. This sump will completely quit pump once the drill rod get a clay plug into it,,,it will eventually work it out,,,but take a long time,,,Am hoping my heavier pump,,,will at least cut down on having to wait to clear the plugged drill rod/bit. You are set up,,,you could do a well or two,,on a weekend for some extra green stamps,,,huh?... Thanks again

      Hey, glad you got a little use out of my videos. Surprisingly the swivel work very good. Not the most professional but it did the job. Sounds like a little bigger pump might be needed depending how far you plan to drill. Thank for sharing your set up and good luck.

      @@jasongrinnell1986 , Jason,,,Do you remember what you used for the tubing part of your water swivel. I don't think you said in the video, I would like to maybe try and replicate what you made.just as a project . All this kind of stuff has gotten so stink'n expensive by the time you make umpteen trips to Lowes,,,,here we have Menard's ,,which is great for this kind of stuff, Thanks

    Maybe a small whiteboard and pen to illustrate... I think I finally got the idea though. Water has to flow through the whatever pipe your using down to the drill bit. The bit is larger than the pipe so you have room on the side and water with crud flows up the hole. You need sufficient flow or nothing will wash up. Your using a low torque "grinding bit" because your using plastic pipe. I'm assuming at this point your just gluing the plastic pipe as you go and then cutting it when you pull it back up.
    I'm unsure of the washup. Hard time imagining small rocks going up 300ft. Also wondering about how much water this uses. I'll see in the next few videos. Thanks for sharing.

    • @jasongrinnell1986
      @jasongrinnell1986  2 года назад

      Yeah I think you pretty much got it. I measure about 90 to 100 gallons per minute. Yes the small rocks will come to surface. Of course bentonite will help tremendously to thicken the water.

    I really like your instinctive intelligence for how to make a poor man’s well drilling rig. I’ve had quotes of 6000. To 8000. dollars to droll 6” and 8” bore holes. Love the “ make do” for the swivel at the top of the drill rig. Is there some way to apply Vaseline to the top and bottom rotary joints for lubrication? Or maybe dish soap? Or cooking oil?

      Thank you for watching. I was showing some guys that it is possible to drill a well using stuff laying around. Actually the swivel performed very well as long as was was pumping down the hole. It would burn up very quickly if the water was off. Ask me how I know. Lol

    • @jasongrinnell1986
      @jasongrinnell1986  3 года назад

      It will easily drill a well without issues. As long as they leaked just a little. Compared to buying one it worked great.
