  • This video is just a run down of what I'm about to do over the next couple weeks. I'm new to posting videos but wanted to show how I found the best way to drill a water well by using what I had laying around. Ask all the question you want.
    Take from the videos what you can use and good luck on drilling your own well. I know that every DYI guy out there has doubts and questions on how to drill a well. Every persons situation is different such as money, tools and knowledge and how deep they are trying to get and what they will be using the well for.

    Hi Jason. I have waited years for someone to make detailed videos on drilling their own well. I have found your videos very helpful and interesting. Thanks man!

      You are very welcome and I do hope it helps you. I think I could have been a little more in detail if I had been thinking that there are lots of people without any knowledge of drilling. I do plan on making a more detailed series to explain better. Best of luck and thanks for watching.

    So simple, and appears to work. You're the man. I would have never believed 4" pvc works for the drill rods. Not fast, but that is so cool. Sounds like I've got a bunch of granite... that may be a whole nother story, but may take a stab at it.

    • @jasongrinnell1986
      @jasongrinnell1986  3 года назад

      Granite is certainly harder than anything I ha e to drill in. I believe a hammer bit would be suitable to in your area.

    Jason, I am disappointed to see that I can't find the video of you actually drilling the well. It was the one that was sped up, and you were sitting in a chair while drilling. Is there any way to see that again?

      I’ll post it again, someone was claiming right to my video and said their song was in it. In fact it was just the water pump running. I tried to fight it but RUclips apparently does not care about videos and views. Give me a couple days and I’ll have it back up. Thanks for reaching out. I do plan on drilling another well the same way. And I will try to be more in depth.

    I’m finding parts acquisition the hardest part. Where did you get the ribbed rubber pieces that go through the flexible, black reducer?

  • @cutweldngrind
    @cutweldngrind 3 года назад

    So the bit will actually stay at the bottom when you finished digging? I had to rewatch again because my memory is not that good.

      Lol! Yes the bit stays down there. It’s a drill till your done setup.

      I bought it all from Lowe’s

      3/4” galvanized coupling fitting and 1’ x 3/4” gas pipe. And whatever fitting you need to attach it to your drive motor.

    • @joeycad
      @joeycad 3 года назад +1

      Thanks, I found the galvanized " compression"( I call it) coupling. Was your spinning 3/4 gas pipe brass for less friction? Sort of looked it in the video.

    • @jasongrinnell1986
      @jasongrinnell1986  3 года назад

      @@joeycad it was metal. Brass would better to use for sure. Good idea!

    • @jasongrinnell1986
      @jasongrinnell1986  3 года назад

      @@joeycad I’m not sure if I can get brass attached to my drive motor and be able to handle the torque. The gas pipe shine up pretty good after it spins for awhile. I also only tightened the rubber seals down just enough to leak just a little to keep the rubber cool. It will burn the rubbers up pretty fast otherwise. And yes I burnt a few up by turning the pipe without circulating.

    Where did you get the bushings that you mentioned at the end?

    • @jasongrinnell1986
      @jasongrinnell1986  3 года назад +1

      The bushing came from Lowe’s. It is connected with sewer and drain products. But as you know all these stores are limited to what they have right now. Thanks for watching.
