When I heard the woman cry, that just killed my soul and my heart goes out to her. She must’ve been so scared of the situation and the fact the man wasn’t all there.
I looked up the event online in the Decorah, Iowa papers. The man (Kyle Wagner) told the woman that he was saving her because someone was trying to k!ll her. He told her that her husband and child were already de@d. Then when he finally was stopped by the cops he said "now we're all going to d!e." Imagine being kidnapped by someone so out of his mind, driving so fast for so long, and saying things like that.

The woman's cries made me tear up; she was understandably so afraid. I am impressed at how well the officers took care of her while simultaneously trying to get the suspect in their custody. I feel like this subject should also have had to pay for any & all therapeutic services this poor woman may need after a traumatic event like this.
@@subaruamazon Every criminal these days has family to get outraged for them and defend their crimes. If they cared as much about their relative as they do after they get arrested, they might have not committed the act in the first place. It's bonkers.

@@SunBunz I realized after posting that comment that it may have been insensitive, considering how traumatic the event was for that woman. Thanks for not taking my joke the wrong way🙂
During the chase, I kept thinking, "Idiot, you have kidnapped someone who is in the car. They are NEVER going to let you go, just pull over." I've seen police call off chases because it was too dangerous to pursue, but not with a hostage in the car.
It is a tough situation. Gladly, he didn't wreck & get her killed. Having her there just raises the stakes so much. Makes one nervous about a pit maneuver, too.
Police K-9’s deserve all the praise they can get. They do so much to protect the ones they love, even to the point that officers understand that it is just as dangerous to the k-9 as it is to them. The K-9 in this video is no different. Kudos to everyone involved in making sure this outcome didn’t get any worse.
@@alobowithadhd6191 The K-9s that the police use are just 4 legged humans. They are their partners. K-9s sometimes don’t get the praise that they should I think. They go into more dangerous situations than the actual police officers do themselves sometimes when they can’t see the perp or are using the K-9 to track the perp when they have took off and are hiding. They don’t know if that perp is hiding somewhere and can see you and has a gun and plans to shoot you when you get close to them. K-9s are amazing!!
Yea, prison time, plus the fines not including restitution for the vehicle and emotional distress plus if she got hurt, payment for that. 😊 hope he had fun
The comedic relief of the K9 officer speaking with his K9 was refreshing after such a stressful situation! Omg I feel for that poor lady 😢 glad nothing worst happened
That incredible dog was like, “Pleeeeease let me get him! Please! Please!“ The officer telling him he’s a good boy is a beautiful moment in an otherwise terrible situation.
‘My name is sgt stage, you can call me Ron.’ This guy was absolutely wonderful talking to that lady, but kudos to her also for keeping her composure at the end there to explain what happened, she was incredibly brave!!
That poor woman, she should have never been subjected to that kind of horror. Imagine not knowing if you were gonna die or not at the hands of a complete and total stranger behind the wheel of your car.
The lead officer who kept everyone updated is amazing. It shows how proper training and experience helped him keep his wits. I’m seriously so impressed. That K9 officer and his partner, if it’s possible to describe them this way, were adorable as they worked closely together. I know police officers who say there’s no bond like a K9 and his trainer. Good boy!
I saw a video recently where a suspect tried to stab a police K9 and the entire squad (if that's the right word?) blasted the guy right into the afterlife. I completely understand why. That's FAMILY. You touch my family and it's over, donezo, finished.
The police in my area had a funeral for a K9 who aged out. Formal line up, his handler carried him into the vets. I still cry picturing it. Major respect for a good and brave boi.
@@frenchbassguy I’m so happy to get a positive response. It’s not that common these days to hear support for those who protect us. I’m always so sad when a K-9 officer has fallen. Just reading this made me cry!!! There is another video where an officer with K9 Jacko and that officer was injured but had amazing control of Jacko the entire time. He wasn't letting ANYONE near his partner and probably moreso because his partner was injured. So Jacko was extremely protective of his partner. He was collected by another officer from another department because his partner required medical attention. But despite the officers injuries he had amazing control of Jacko

Sad thing with the state of our county his bail was only 40 thousand, he probably will get less than a year if that. This man should be going for 20 years minimum.

@Zukos Mom Not sure if you've ever heard of this neat little thing called... insurance? They more than likely got a rental car the next day, and this would be 100% covered. They'll be getting a brand new vehicle

That poor poor woman! That sounds like one of the most terrifying things ever. She probably thought she was going to die that night. Really glad she’s okay.
CW: Violence involving children. This happened to a family in Wichita, KS. But, in that case, the 13 year old girl in the back seat tried to bail, and was dragged to death when she got caught in her seat belt. Her parents were picking up a food order in a decent neighborhood. Never leave your car running, especially with people in it.

The radio play by play from this officer was impeccable! Especially under a high intense situation. I could close my eyes and picture exactly what was happening. Well played by this officer. He paid attention during training
This guy was what all officers should achieve to be. I was so impressed by him it's sad. It shouldn't be this way. We shouldn't be noticing how good an officer is, they should be in the majority; not the minority so we don't take notice😔
It was good - the nerves are coming out when he keeps repeating redundant info about crossing over centre, but you can tell as they settle in those nerves go away and they all play it well together including dispatch and their boss. You can see the difference once the state police get involved, they are just all over the place...
@J MB yeah why is that? If you know, sorry, I'm just curious why that happened with the state police? Plus why did the statey get in front of him if he's already there and on it??
10:40 the instant switch is so endearing. From commanding voice to instant babytalk in like.. 0.2 seconds. I always appreciate officers who treat their K9's well.
You know what, this was one of the best-practiced police chase videos from the US I've seen in a long time!! Coordinated, knew policies about boxing and pit, working with state troopers not trying to one up each other, securing the suspect after the pit and getting the female to safety all the while supporting her and letting her know she's safe now and they will help her. Well done 👏👏👏
This is fairly standard. Unfortunately it's still trendy to hate cops from the US, so all of the "bad cop" videos get uploaded, and then ignoramuses think that's typical. I find it funny how people from other countries (especially Western European) always think they know what's going on over here. Lmao.
The fact that the car jacker was yelling *HELP* *ME* just blows my mind. That’s probably what that poor woman said on the phone to the cops!! If he had just let the woman out, he probably wouldn’t have been caught so quickly. Why are criminals truly the most unintelligent people on earth!
My sister was left at a rest stop by her husband. She was sleeping in the back when they stopped at the rest stop. Her husband and son went to use the restroom. She woke up and decided to go into the restroom. Her family didn't check on her before they left. A few miles down the road, her son reached back to get a drink and said, "Where's Mom?" 😂

Stability and traction control in modern cars does a lot, combined with AWD. @@effthegop ya know I'm often torn about police chases. Sometimes I think it's more dangerous to the public. Get the plate number and let it go. In this situation, he had basically kidnapped someone. Who knows what might happen to her? If I was the woman in the car I would have chosen the crash maneuver over maybe getting shot in the head, raped or who the hell knows what. Yes she is very lucky to be alive.
Its such a little thing but you can tell how much that one officer cares and how the victim was always in the front of his mind. He kept reminding everyone she wanted water, such a small thing that doesn't matter at all, but it kept coming out because he kept thinking about her wellbeing.
From a psychological POV, it's a very important thing. It's something where she can take control again after losing it completely by being abducted. Such a simple thing as asking for something and receiving it goes a long way to help someone calm down. I'm just saying the cops was amazing for treating her request as important!
Another little thing I noticed 12:35, he made sure to non-verbally tell his colleague to get his knee off the kidnappers back as they alr had the guy in cuffs and face down! Damn good cop
I was looking for this sort of comment... I can't say I've ever seen a clip and definitely not a movie where it's such a serious chase/arrest and then a couple of times, in a goofy high-pitched voice to the dog: "Who's a good booy-ee!?" 😁
This is why you never ever leave you child or animal inside the car alone even just long enough to go inside a gas station. This is more common than people think.
Usually if I have to make a quick stop and someone stays in the car, I always make sure they are alert and the doors are locked. I have no idea why people are so stupid to leave someone in an unlocked car, either awake or asleep.
These are insanely good quality videos. The narration, the mug shots, the jump cuts to notable moments, including all the positive reinforcement the K9 doggo gets. Unrivaled
That woman was such a badass. Stayed calm, kept the dispatcher on the phone, got herself out of that car, and just wanted some water afterwards. Absolute legend.
It's still a good idea to mentally prepare for something like this before it happens and carry a counter measure be it a gun or a knife or less lethal options. Personally I'd assume the person who stole the car and refuses to let me out has intentions to kill or do worse to me, it's a dire situation and even if it meant the car losing control and crashing you are in a good position to injure or kill the driver from the back seat. To be clear if they didn't know you were in the car and let you out when they did it's likely they just want your property but if you are kidnapped and being moved to another location assume you are already dead and fight back accordingly.
I get your comment but no one can mentally prepare for something like this especially given the many possible situations & outcomes. How can you prepare for what the other person will do?

Admirable goal! I pray you succeed. Sadly, many great officers are leaving because of dangerous understaffing while the public attitude continues to deteriorate. It’s disgusting that politicians have demonized law enforcement and divided people, teaching people to see the colour of other’s skin and violence is encouraged. Sadly also, Leos end up going to the same places and dealing with the same people repeatedly which makes them unavailable to patrol and prevent crime by their presence. Be careful where you decide to apply to work. Wish you every success.

In Quebec they are hardcore drones sadly, opposite to here. We have kneecapped our police and they die every day because they hesitate to protect themselves. If you want to give criminals the benefit of the doubt, then we need to finance social workers and send them out to all the calls. We are expecting cops to be parents, counsellors, social workers, psychiatrists, community peacemakers, to assist victims, and so much more! No other professional is faced with such danger while being expected to professionally drive, hand to hand combat, know the laws and do proficient paperwork, attend court and that’s just what comes to mind. I know that they are leaving the force in droves and departments aren’t replacing them. Those with firearms aren’t allowed to use them for protection and they are closer every day to taking them away from us completely including hunting rifles. They passed a law that was already obsolete and called in all the experts and then flat lied about the amendment taking hunting tools. More training isn’t the answer. Rehabilitation of addicts and criminals, mental health help, including travelling nurses making sure people are stable on medication and scores of other professions can be involved, but heaping more training on people who are trained half to death while making pi$$ poor wages and expecting them to be all things makes no sense at all. The point is though, that no other profession is taxed to deal with the social problems that cops are. That needs replacing across the board with people that do it well, and the funding needs putting in place. Homeless and drug addicted steal, for example. We need to address the issues before sending in Leo’s. Why not save them for active shooters etc. Hostage takings and kidnappings bring in professional negotiators. That’s what I am talking about. Where I grew up in the UK they have a mental health car that responds to anything that seems like their cup of tea. Sending armed enforcement to everything isn’t the best we can do. Sunny skies here, thanks! Grass isn’t greener here, not at all. The government paid 600 million for the “independent journalists” here though, I don’t imagine they wish to make the PM an enemy. @@detective_mitch_connerfalse imprisonment is when you hold someone captive. Kidnapping is taking them captive and moving them somewhere else. No demand for money or harming them is required
There isn't really much to show he intended to kidnap her so much as he just wanted the car and she happened to be in it. He also didn't even try to prevent her from contacting the police or actually take her anywhere so the problem is they can't actually make the charge stick. False imprisonment is much easier to prove because he held her against her will regardless of whether he did anything to her. They also can't stick GTA because there's no evidence whatsoever he was going to keep the car for any length of time. So, what happened here is they stuck with the charges they could actually get him with instead of going for the ones that his lawyer would immediately talk them down from. Makes the whole process faster instead of just gunning for whatever you can come up with. But sure, drag it out through legal battles instead, it'll give the public more court tv to watch.

I'm not a lawyer but I think kidnapping is you took someone from where they were, against their will. Whereas false imprisonment is you prevented someone from leaving. It's possible kidnapping would have applied, but it's likely the DA decided on false imprisonment instead because kidnapping might not stick, because the individual didn't force the victim into the vehicle but, instead, wouldn't allow them to leave the vehicle. No other professional is faced with such danger while being expected to professionally drive, hand to hand combat, know the laws and do proficient paperwork, attend court and that’s just what comes to mind. Those with firearms aren’t allowed to use them for protection and they are closer every day to taking them away from us completely including hunting rifles. They signed paperwork saying as much. Our shiny new Minister will be cracking down on what we can say and do online as well, pretty sure. She said as much.
Thank God they saved her. And it's amazing how long a car can go missing tires
“DaS a GoOd bOy!!!!!”” I loved that part! Middle of the chaos keeping officer Bork bite happy!
I know that is so wholesome ❤
70 mph on 1 tire?? That’s impressive.
His driving skills must be maxed out on gta 5. 😆
Stabilization and Traction Control.....
If I were the woman I'd sue the dude for mental trauma, but it'd probably be like trying to get blood out of a rock. And think how the owner feels when they get the car back. I would insist the insurance claim be for a total loss. Maybe dude could be sentenced to prison until he can pay it all off at prison wages or age 120, whichever comes first.
volkswagen.... das auto😂
I'm glad she made it. It had to be scary to be in her position. Also great job to the cops for helping her get to safety
I love how the dog gets told he’s a good boy to keep him calm during the stressful situation.
That woman's crying just tore me up.
I can't imagine how scary that whole thing was. Poor lady.😔
I’ve watched many graphic videos on channels like these but wow… the way that lady began crying in despair & relief after she was released from the car was tragic to watch.
I really hope she doesn’t have trauma or PTSD from this experience. 🙏
We shouldn’t have to fear sitting in gas stations expecting our family members to come back when in reality it was someone with malicious intentions towards you, and your vehicle.
God.. bless her, no-one should go through this ever.
A lot of scumbags tend to hang around gas stations and convenient stores. You really have to be aware of your surroundings and keep your car locked, even if you're in it.
@@rpurdy4821 Yeah, I always keep my car locked when I have people sitting in it when I go in. I don't think they care. The only thing they request is either the AC or heater/AC on.
@@rpurdy4821 I live near a scuzzy town with lots of drug addicts, and lately it's EVERY time that I stop for gas I get approached by a Methface McScabby who always say that they just need money for gas to get to a town that's about 30 miles away (the town is always one of about five). Sometimes they say they have to pick up their kids, or that their relative is in the hospital. Usually, they have no car though.
Two days ago, I had one get aggressive in a grocery store parking lot, she yelled curse words and threw something at my car when she realized I was going to continue ignoring her and drive away quickly.
I guess I need to start taking my dog to town with me. He's a biter when he thinks I'm being threatened.
Unfortunately she'll probably have at least some, especially if she has never experienced certain things/people before. Maybe not tho, she seems strong as far as these things go.
true.
to be safe, lock your doors always. scumbags are everywhere.
The second the woman got out of the car, I started to tear up. You can hear the panic in her voice. I can’t imagine what it feels like to wake up to yourself being literally kidnapped.
The stress these and every officers endure is unbelievable. It’s amazing how quickly they recover. It amazes me how the officers of this country are expected to be nice but what people don’t understand is that they are working under a lot of stress and that they are cognoscent that their lives are on the line during their shifts everyday. May god protect our officers. Thank you to all officers for your service.
Ameen 🙏🏾
That Poor Poor Woman, breaks my heart to think she had to go through this
I feel so sorry for that lady. You could see how terrified she was. Thank God she was saved. The guy should have been charged for attempted kidnapping.
Attempted?
I reached the end. He was charged with false inprisonment
@@readilium3432 will he deserve to go to jail and he try to kidnap her🤦♀️
Karma will catch up with Kyle. I have accidentally leaked all of his information to the dark web. I'm even working with a friend who is a notary and we are about to forge a power of attorney order for Kyle and I will soon have full legal decision-making ability for him if he is ever incapacitated due to a medical emergency.
Technically this isn't fraud because he is a rapist and he legally gave up his right to make his own decisions.
The only way he can get this power of attorney overthrown is if he voluntarily signs an agreement and gives himself 100 years in prison without parole or being able to reverse that paperwork once it's signed.
that's not attempted my guy.. that's full blown kidnapping.
I almost started crying hearing that poor woman. She’s not much older than me. 😢
The cops did such an amazing job! Way to go guys! 👏

Agree! Tyres are overrated 😂
It has AWD so that's why.

I’m shocked this guy got a $40,000 cash bond to get out of jail right away, instead of being kept in prison until trial, to get sentenced with many years for kidnapping!! This is insane of the judge!!!
It’s honestly surprising to hear someone stole a car with someone inside without realizing. I’ve heard bad guys stealing cars with babies inside, but an actual person who called to describe their location of where they’re passing is not what I expected
He did realize she was there. He was just too geeked to realize that keeping her back there was a liability. She was even surprised he did ‘t stop to kick her out v
@@Dziaji Yeah, I rewatched it and heard he did realize. That’s my bad
Meth is a helluva drug.
Guy was so meth'd out he got into a car that wasn't his own and didn't even know wtf they were doing.
These idiots don’t realize much. And ignore what they do realize.
That poor lady, her voice was killing me. Imagine being in a pit maneuver and you are NOT the bad guy! She had to have thought it was over.
That poor woman. I unfortunately know the feeling of when your life is in someone else's hands and how horrible that can feel. I hope she found peace after this. Great job officers & love the way they talk to their dogs.
How he didn't get a kidnapping charge is beyond me. The officers did a great job otherwise.
Exactly I was thinking 💭 the same thing 😮
and grand theft auto as opposed to driving without permission
Lousy passive ineffective prosecutors...
Can you imagine waking from a nap, realize you’re being hijacked and then being an unwilling passenger in a car driven erratically at over 100 MPH?
How she reacted right after the officers pulled her from safety was a glimpse into that. Sheer horror and confusion, and she was in that state for the whole duration of the chase. Poor lady.
would make 2 truths and 1 lie really hard
I love hearing the officers go from “GET OUT OF THE FCKN CAR WITH YOUR HANDS UP” to “ooooh dats a good boiiiii” 😂
40k cash bond for a virtual kidnapping and having that woman’s life at the palm of his hands. Unbelievable.
There should have been no bond.
I like the way the one cop told his dog he's a good boy. Loved his tone of voice.
The communication the officers, dispatch and state patrol had was impeccable! Very professional.
So pretty much how it always supposed to be..
This video should be part of the training to become a a cop
I cant imagine how scared that poor woman was, props to her for staying as calm as she could.
Also, I was surprised how well the car handled without tires
Can we all take a moment to applaud the officer's radio play by play during pursuit 👏 This was amazing under pressure, and he was thoughtful to the victim during all the chaos. Well done.
These videos give me so much respect for law enforcement. Its so nice to see videos of good cops doing a good job and truly helping people. Gives me faith in the good cops that are out there.

That poor woman. I can't even imagine. And her family back at the gas station. I hope they are doing better now and can move past this. Take care all. Great work to all officers involved.
They should add a kidnapping charge too. That poor lady.
This is why lawyers say, "It depends."
"Help me!" STOP TALKING i love it
