    I'm sorry but a $2,000 signature bond for assaulting multiple officers and going on a high speed chase is a slap in the face to society. What was the prosecutor and/or judge thinking?
    EDIT: Yes, I realize that this was not his punishment. That's NOT the point. There is NO Federal constitutional right to pretrial bail. Bail is NOT a guaranteed benefit in Wisconsin or anywhere in the USA, for that matter. The judge could have refused it altogether, or at the very least set it at a much higher, but still reasonable level. The judge had an obligation to protect society leading up to trial, and at the very least ensure that the defendant had a strong incentive to show up for the trial.

Since hes had priors he will likely get at least a couple years jail time from this when he finally goes to trial.

      I'm a white guy with no tattoos no criminal history nothing, last time I went to jail was because I was a passenger in a Uber and the UBER DRIVER got hit . . And I've had terrible encounters with the police. Plenty. Can't count how many times I've been pulled over for nothing, searched and just let go. For nothing. . Last November 15th, I was CHARGED with resisting arrest and obstruction of justice, (not convicted still fighting it.)
      The cops broke my right ring finger and fractured my ribs.... it's now September 15th, 10 months later and I still don't know what I did wrong or to break any laws that day..
      I was a passenger in a UBER. The Uber driver got hit by some young man who ran a stop sign. The first cop on scene was a hot head who was NOT dispatched to the wreck. He jumped out of his cruiser and demanded we all get off our cell phones. He made the UBER DRIVER hang up on the 911 call .. I was on the phone with my wife telling her I'd be late and the Uber got into a wreck, they're sending me another ride yadda yadda, he even made the other guy hang up the phone, sounded like he was talking to his parent of something... Well anyway, I guess I took to long to hang up, this cop grabbed my arm and tried like twisting it, I think to get my phone. I switched my phone to my other hand and I'm like okokokok, that's when I was slammed to the sidewalk, he had a shin on my neck while rubbing my face into the concrete, he kept yelling to stop resisting and yelling hands hands. Well it's kinda hard to give them my hands when they were underneath me, and remind you this was in winter, so I'm in a coat and many layers, so even harder. Then another cop comes up and started kicking me in the sides. Like how tf am I supposed to just put my hands behind my back when I got a big cop on my back and another kicking my ribs. It was ridiculous... so long story short. After my beating I was placed in the back of a cop car, I still haven't been told I'm under arrest, I still haven't even been asked for my information or anything.!!! They wouldn't tell me anything! Until I got to Hamilton county justice center, in Cincinnati Ohio. I heard I was under arrest for obstruction and resisting arrest, that's why the lady in the jail behind the computer let me out on O.R. she asked what I did and I told her I have no idea. I told her the story, and she thought it was weird too. She even said they don't usually let people out on OR of they resisted arrest because they're likely not to come back, but since BOTH of my ONLY 2 charges were secondary offenses. She let me go.. I just don't understand how TF I was even spoken to. Like??? Were the ones who called the police because both cars were totaled in the middle of the road and one was smoking. I was just waiting for my other Uber, when this crazy cop showed up out of no where and started treating everyone like we just robbed a bank and went on a chase. It was CRAZY. I never thought I'd actually be a victim to this type of abuse by police because I'm always cooperative and polite and respectful. Even saying yes sir and no sir even if they're younger than me... it's crazy.!!! I have had plenty of bad encounters but those are usually when I've been pulled over in my car, and they always do a bunch of unnecessary searching, ask unnecessary irrelevant questions etc. And illegaly search my car. All they say is " this is a predominantly black neighborhood and you're white and there's a lot of narcotic trafficking around here, and we're doing a investigation, now you're part of it. Keep your hands where I can see them and slowly exit the vehicle. I've heard that at LEAST 9 times.... they see I have nothing illegal, and I have license plate registration and insurance and usually take our pictures and let me go...
      I just had got jumped and stabbed in downtown Cincinnati Ohio last April. . By 13 people. And they was all yelling racist shit while beating me and my girlfriend up. She had to have surgery on her eye because she had kept getting stomped on her face, she got a double orbital fracture. Had to have bone removed and replaced with a metal plate because the broken bone fragments were obstructing her eye movement. She couldn't see out of it for 3 week. I had cuts, broken collar bone fractured ribs and broken pinky finger. Not one of our random attackers spent more than a day in jail, and not one felony. Although some of them were already convicted felons.
      Only some of them got Misdemeanors. ... I asked the prosecutor who is a black lady, I said what if 13 white folks was going around beating up blk couples downtown, on camera, you think they'd be charged with a felony. She said " %100, felonious assault with a weapon, criminal mischief ,hate crimes and more."
      Just saying. Her words not mine. Then the victims advocate try making it to seem like it's our fault for being downtown, like??? We were on FOUNTAIN SQUARE, not in the mf projects. TF!!!!

      @Donnell Okafor - agree with that. It has become almost an accepted part of growing up that young black men (and poor whites)go to jail for something. As a probation officer, I was more or less just accepted by my offenders' families the same as just another part of the normal routine. Shouldn't be that way. Criminality is not just a part of growing up for anyone. It is mostly because of what you stated but also because the system is not equal for all. A poor kid can't hire a good lawyer to negotiate a deal with the courts and end up with the public defenders, most of whom I found to be apathetic and or incompetent. Lots of problems for sure but until the thug lifestyle is characterized for what it is, and not as a glamorous life style, the problems will continue. The place to focus is to stop glorifying criminality....and once that happens the system will work for everyone.

      @RJ-lg9hs 2 года назад +1

      @@gotthiis The bond being low has no effect on his case. He didn't even go to trial yet, so holding him in jail only makes sense if you think he's a flight risk. You're innocent until proven guilty in the U.S. Bonds are a way to make sure that people don't flee the country because you'll get that money back when your case is over. You aren't getting that money back if you flee.

    • @pwalk9718
      @pwalk9718 2 года назад

      @@RJ-lg9hs First, it's important to note this is a signature bond, meaning he paid no money to bond out. All that was required is a signature. If he doesn't show then he can be sued for the $2000. Bonds are also determined based upon how much of a threat/danger you pose to the community. Given the fact he struck 3 people with his car, and drove 100 mph while intoxicated thereby putting anyone of the roads/nearby building in life threatening danger. Considering this, anybody would be able to determine he clearly poses a significant danger to the community upon being released. Likely, a conviction will not happen for at least 1 year, so he has an entire year to potentially repeat the same life threatening behavior until then.

    • @RJ-lg9hs
      @RJ-lg9hs 2 года назад +2

      @@pwalk9718 Why should bond be determined by how much of a threat you are? People with more money should be able to be let out with a higher danger to the community than with people who have less? No. It's flight risk. The higher the risk, the more someone should have to pay as collateral so they don't escape. And like I said, innocent until proven guilty. Holding people you haven't convicted of a crime is a bad system. People should be able to pay their way out until they go to court unless they are a mass murderer or completely mentally unstable. In those cases, they should be held without bond, not an increased bond. You shouldn't be able to pay for the opportunity to be a threat to the community. I don't honestly believe someone who tries to run from the cops is an immediate threat to the community. Yes, it's dangerous to do so and puts people's lives at risk. But it's not with malice against the public, but rather a selfish desire to escape. It's also pretty unlikely he'll reoffend in that amount of time depending on his record.
